As we've seen there are SEVERAL pokemon games... these are my top 10. As always comment below on your own picks if you please.

10. Pokemon Channel

This may seem like an odd pick, especially when you consider what didn't even make the top 10. However, I'm not interested in a lot of the newer games that have come out over the years, and this was one of the few games on the system I actually enjoyed. Maybe it's just that the gameplay was more fun. I just think this game is more deserving of credit than it gets.

9. Hey You Pikachu!

I'll be completely honest. For years, I didn't like this game because it never worked for me. But that's not the fault of the game... that's the fault of the crappy accessories. In reality, when the game DID work, it was totally a blast to play. When I got pikachu to thunderbolt for no reason, it was the happiest time of the game. I had a sense of accomplishment.

8. Pokemon Trading Card Game

This was one of my favorite games from an early age, because even then, I loved card games. This gave me the all the pokemon tcg action I could handle. I still play this one today, as no successors have ever reached American soil.

7. Pokemon Puzzle League

As a kid, I loved puzzles. It was no secret I've always been SOMEWHAT good at them. Even then I had no problem speeding through the game. My parents would often watch in amusement as I showcased my knowledge of how the game worked. I don't play it much anymore, but I'll never forget my first favorite puzzle game.

6. Pokemon Stadium

Oh how I enjoyed the older pokemon games. When the games relied more on your imagination and ability to think ahead, than just leveling up one pokemon to 100 and steamrolling through the game. Pokemon Stadium was one of those games you couldn't "level" up the pokemon... you had to level up your "brain". Something most pokemon players seem to lack these days.

5. Pokemon Emerald

This is the latest into the gens I will go. Anything after the third generation has been complete crap, and I will hear no arguments. The third generation even had testy moments, where I thought, "I know it's going downhill from here." But I digress... Emerald was the last decent non-remake of a pokemon game to be made... probably ever.

4. Pokemon Snap

Back to the basics though. Nothing beat the original 151... and you know what's even more fun than just capturing them? Taking pictures of them. I'm not kidding. Back in the day, there even used to a place where you could retrieve pictures you took in game, to put on anything. I used to have a picture of a surfboarding pikachu on my backpack. Because I was hardcore like that.

3. Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver

As far as remakes go, this is an example of how a remake should be. It shouldn't update a ton of crap we don't need. It should just update the graphics and give a few minor things (like the ability to have a pokemon walk behind you) to top it all off. In the end, I had no complaints about it... but...

2. Pokemon Gold and Silver

You can't beat the original. Ever. It will always be better. Deal with it. I remember when this one came out... well before it did really. I actually got to play an imported Japanese copy of the game before it hit American shores. I beat it before it became available in the states. I can say based on JUST GAMEPLAY, that it was amazing then and it's still amazing now. The only difference is I missed the amazing story. With or without it though... this is still better than anything that has been released lately.

1. Pokemon Red and Blue

I love the oldies. And nothing is older than the ORIGINAL pokemon games. I remember when I got Pokemon Blue for one of my earlier birthdays. Hell yeah. That was awesome.

You can't beat the originals, those are with ya forever.

You know they're still releasing the TCG... It's actually quite fun to play. Well, it was in the HS series, I haven't played since the transition to BW, but most of the mechanics are the same, I'm just waiting for them to release an expansion with the olde pokemanz.

When you mentioned how a lot of Pokemon fans seem to lack the ability to level up their brains because they just level up their Pokemon to 100 to steamroll, my first thought was "AMEN!". That is so true. I thought Pokemon Snap looked really fun. I have never gotten to play it. I hope the ROM here gets replaced so it can be playable so I can play through it.
