You can get infinite skill points by going into a fight that has two stages (e.G. Rouge & amoral v.S. Gamma)
 and then beating one stage(getting perfect recommended)and then quitting and pressing "no".keep doing this and you get skill points every time!

A good way to train is to have strong attacks and battling Sonic and Tails in the second chapter and if you have completed the game like I have and need more skill points then go to Emerl's chapter to get a combo. The best one is Shadow's combo to train and win any battle and Sonic's combo when in virtual training with battling gamma but make sure to have rouge flight.
also these are the codes for sonic combo and shadow combo:
Sonic combo :  75619 and
Shadow's combo :  ArmIa
