Not sure what my first game was but I did own a 3D0 and GameBoy and probably one of my favorites was that ninja turtle game forgot what system it was on... maybe super nintendo I think or something. Probably the first game I played was duck hunt for atari or something lol.

JigSaw: LOL, Duck Hunt was for the NES, did you even own an Atari? Also, there was I think 2 TMNT games for the NES and 1 for the SNES so you probably played a TMNT game for the NES because the one for the NES was pretty popular and I also played it a bit.

Being born in '85, I grew up during Nintendo's rise to power. Thus the 3rd gen is my favorite era, though I could almost equally go for the 4th gen as well.

By C64 I am assuming you guys are talking about a Commodore 64 computer system? I actually had one of those for a while when I was like 13-14. My first computer actually (lol, my cheapskate parents). I don't have the computer anymore (it got ruined in storage) but I still have all those grotesquely large floppy games (and some actual software too).

I actually learned little bits of Basic programming on the C64 too!

I agree David, lol. I remember playing Super Mario Bros with my mom all the time. That and Dr. Mario, a game that she was and still is addicted too. I still even own my original copy of the first Legend of Zelda, and still play it to this day. The WiiWare ability is cool, but sometimes there is nothing like the feel of an NES controller in your hands.

Canarith: I agree 100%, even though that thing got real uncomfortable after 3 or more hours of game play, there's still no substitute to playing the classic NES games on an NES with an NES controller. Speaking of the NES controller, I've found that with the Wii VC games, the response time from you clicking a button and your character moving is so delayed that it makes doing speed runs on classic NES games on the Wii VC impossible, I'm not sure if that delay is because it's wireless or what but it's enough to throw me off in those classic games where every little action matters right down to the pixel.

I also remember the Commodore 64, I owned one for a while but wasn't comparable to the NES, SNES, Genesis or Turbo Grafx, even if it was just as powerful (if not more), just wasn't the same.

I sometimes mix atari with sega master system, had to be the master system that I played duck hunt on.

Duck Hunt was made by Nintendo so therefore it was only for the NES.

Wait, maybe it was Safari hunt or something, it was exactly like duck hunt but had safari animals in it... idk lol.

It could've been like a parody of duck hunt, duck hunt you only shoot ducks and a dog laughs at you when you miss (actually there is another mode in the game come to think of it where your shooting flying discs). You also play it using the gun for the NES.

duck hunt parody...so the duck shoots you and the dog laughs when you get shot? That would be awesome

My Nintendo book bag has a cheat on it that says in 2P mode of duck hunt you can shoot the dog 3 times and the frame rate will go down long enough to shoot the ducks with perfect accuracy.

I've never played the game in 2 player mode but that sounds like a cheat I'd like to try out just for the saking of seeing what exactly happens

It's like those Super mario bros cheats/glitches, people usually do them not for their benefits (which some don't have anyway) but for the sake of doing them and seeing what happens.

oh which to vote for... i had so many good times with both the nes and the snes, so i just voted for nes for the sake that it started my lifelong addiction to gaming, not to mention megaman, kirby, and rpg's.

i remember it well, my first games for every nintendo console...
the adventures of lolo for the nes, such a charming puzzler.
secret of mana for the snes, such a fantastic game.

Nah, listening to video game memories is never boring. I have lots of memories with the NES too, as well as memories with Lolo, never played 2 or 3 but I put many hours into the 1st.

if only they still made some of those older systems

on the plus side, find one in mint condition and it will work like forever. i still have my old nes (and one of those revision 2 thingies) and she still goes perfect

I picked 4th Gen. Not because I'm not old enough to remember the older consoles but because it felt like it was 4th gen that really got the video game business on a roll.

I also prefer 4th gen because the graphics were okay but didn't were not the entire focus of the game. I find there are quite a few games that are made simply to show off the graphics and gameplay is totally ignored.

Unfortunately, I was not born anywhere within the earlier eras.
Although the seventh, sadly, is my favorite, i did enjoy the sixth.
I remember when my friend gave me his old Dreamcast and I almost had a heart attack from excitement, and I was ADDICTED to this one Sonic game I just could not beat.
Ah... Good times.

I think i play my N64 about the same amount as i play my wii
