Left 4 Dead 2 Review
By: dkmec20
When I got my hands on a Left 4 Dead 2 Xbox 360 copy I felt so excited even though I didn't have an Xbox 360 at that time.
When I finally got my Xbox 360 I popped the disc into the Xbox and started playing it. I did single player on Dead Center and I was immediately hooked.
The setting of the game takes place in Savannah, Georgia. It is three weeks after the first infection of the Green Flu, a disease that is similar to rabies. Then four people who don't get infected by the Green Flu AKA the survivors, find themselves a few seconds late to get rescued after climbing up a hotel. Then the real fun starts, you may choose what survivor you want to be out of the characters(My personal favorite)Ellis, Nick, Rochelle, and Coach(Each survivor has the same skills and attributes.) Together you and the other survivors must go through chapters of campaigns in order to be rescued. You must fight the infected(People who got infected by the Green Flu)AKA zombies in order to progress forward.
Having this be my first FPS game I wasn't sure how well I would like but man did I like it. It was difficult at first as there are also Special Infected who have abilities that no other infected have. Those are the Hunter, Boomer, Smoker, Tank, Witch, Charger, Jockey, Spitter, and the Wandering Witch.
The game has an AI Director who spawns Infected, guns, medkits, etc. so every time you play a campaign the experience will be different. The graphics are pretty good which is what you would expect for an Xbox game. The sound is pretty loud and I recommend you turn the game volume down a bit before you start playing it. This game is very addicting with the Director making the experience different every time you play this game.
There are many modes on Left 4 Dead 2. There is Single Player where you play by yourself offline. Campaign where you can play online with other people. Versus where you can play as the survivors and the special infected as you each take turns being them. Realism where you can't see the outlines of anything such as your teammates and weapons. Realism Versus is the same thing as Realism only it's versus(See versus for info on it.) Mutations every week that have specific requirements for each one. And a few more modes I forgot!
Also my opinion on the game is that it is a very good game with the infected keeping you on your toes. You need strategy and teamwork in this game if you want to survive. As a survivor stay in a group(Not a tight group though) and keep pushing forward. As the infected ambush the survivors, try to get the person lagging behind if you are a Jockey, Hunter, or a Smoker. Don't go out into the open and attack them or you will get killed instantly.
Overall I would give this game an 9/10. But keep in mind this game is rated mature and I don't recommend it to people who aren't 17+ because it has strong language and gore although you can turn the gore off. Hope you liked my review and have a good day.
