Well, that is a load of Liberal propoganda if I ever saw it.. The one thing I learned from working from Republicans is that liberals talk a bunch of s***, but never do a thing about it.. Why arn't the ultra liberal senators & reps. doing anything about this... Has anyone proposed a bill?... Didn't think so... Although, I do agree, we should definately cut down on our oil consumption, it'll cause nothing but destruction, especially in the country.. A country that basically relies on oil to solve all of our problems... Nothing to do with Global Warming, in my opinion... Global Warming has been happening BEFORE we started using oil, it occurs naturally.. Why do you think the end of the ice age occured in the first place? We weren't burning oil then...

in either case... yeah the world is getting warmer... i guess, but the cause is up for debate... weather it is pollution and fossil fuels... and chlorine... or weather it is just a stage of the world... which cant be stopped... like an opposite 'ice age'... even if that were the case pollution would only intensify that...

but yeah... its not something that i have a yes or no opinion about...

Have you seen "The Day After Tomorrow"? The Globe is actually setting itself up for another ice age.

During the end of the last ice age (~12,000 years ago), the glaciers melted in a matter of weeks. This caused an almost worldwide tumultuous flood, and wiped out a great lot of human culture. The water from that flood is still upon the face of the planet today, and as such, the oceans are about 400 feet higher than they were at that time. 60% to 75% of the world, at any given time, is covered by cloud. Taking these factors into account, along with sunlight, the jetstream and the fluctuating ocean currents at any given time, we have a weather system that is nigh unpredictable beyond 3 days. Anybody that says they can predict a global catastrophe in the far future that does not involve a comet of some sort, is quite mad. Any weather-related catastrophe will likely happen in the next three days, and not the next three or thirty years.

How do they know it all happend in a matter of weeks... Or is that what happned in the day after tomorow?

It never occured to me, that global warming dosnt make everyting warmer.. It apparently makes all weather changes, such as colder weather, and more severe storms.

The hurricanes (or cyclones, i forget wat they were) that hit America, freak accident, or result of global warming?

They know it happened in weeks through geological evidence. Some venture it was more likely days or hours. How can an entire ice-cap full, an entire northern hemisphere full of glaciers be melted in hours? Who has the technology to create such a massive flood?!

You put an ice-cube in the fridge, and look how long it takes to melt.

Meteors? Maybe... They'd have to come at the earth from SUCH an angle though And there'd have to be a lot of them...

They HAVE found evidence of a large meteor that hit the earth... I actually believe in was in the US... It doesn't even really have to be that large to cause a global catastrophe.. About a Mile wide... Thats about it... It does hit with SUCH force... like 10 Atom bombs, enough for clouds to block out the sun, n thus melting the icecaps in a few days/weeks... Or maybe I'm wrong... Correct me if I'm wrong..

It was absoluly huge. The metior that hit it,was heaps smaller than a mile though. Its amazing how much force one of them would have.

I think your right on the money, clouds idea. Cept seems a bit odd, that 1 metior can change a whole plannets climate.

If clouds blocked out the sun, the earth would freeze over more than it was, not melt the ice...

YEeah but what they don't tell you is a big volcanic eruption puts more "Polutants" in the air than the whole human race combined for one year.

I think its only hotter at night when its cloudy. Because the mist, and dew cant set in. Or so i think...

Theres a show on TV in Aus on sunday night called 'the carbon test' or something. Will let you find out how much carbon stuff your household is making.

They also want to try make the first Wednesday of every month 'lights out night' where everyone keeps there lights out for the night.

well, here is the simple fact: the world is warming.

It has been for the last 10-15 thousand years. We're coming out of an nice age.

This isn't some man-made problem that started within the last 200 years.

And carbon dioxide is the problem? Well here's my solution. All the global warming nut-jobs need to stop breathing to reduce their carbon emitions. Humans (and animals) exhale carbon dioxide. OMFG we're all contributing to global warming.... stop breathing now!

There is not too much Carbon Dioxide, because of the photosynthesis process. The photosynthesis process more then covers the Carbon Dioxide produced by breathing... and any other source man can think up.

I personally do not see "global warming" as a threat, just like the threat of "oil running out" being a problem. Its been said, "global warming will melt the ice caps". If that were to happen, we wouldn't notice... we'd be dead from the heat first. Even though its off topic, the earth produces oil, and thus its not going to run out before "man" meets "his" end.

Now, just for humor...

well, apparently it doesn't because according to the scientists the amount of carbon dioxide has increased. I think you misunderstood my sarcasm maybe....

I agree global warming isn't a threat, but not quite for the same reasons you do apparently. The earth isn't going to warm up so much that we can't survive on it. The ice caps will probably melt off completely within a 100 years and the temperature is supposed to increase by at most 5 degrees celsius. That's not that much really.

Sure, some parts of the world may become too hot to live in.... there are parts of the world that are currently too cold to live in (for some). These areas would become quite habitable if the world were to warm up a few more degrees over the next 50-100 years. Crop production times would increase in the more northern areas (Canada, Russia, other parts of northern Europe).

People only see the dooms day aspect of the global warming. Well the fact is we have no credible evidence to support any of the "catastrophic" stuff that some scientists come up with.
