No I'm not talking about the Halo series period. And Bobby Halo started as a strategy game for the Mac if I remember correctly.

Though it might get best multiplayer, not sure whether it would or not though.

In all the pre-halo games, that they show ya on the bonus DVD's.
It was really crap, but had some good things, like you could ride animals, and the mongoose was there.
Halo was also made where you can see the character, like from behind. Is that 3rd person.. 2nd person.. external view.. I dont kno wthe name of it.

And Halo is the best because its lobby system is brilliant and the multiplayer is wonderful... You can make your own custom game varients... The single player could be better... but until you read the books you can not say a thing about the plot....

One thing I dont like is when a huge fan of an RPG says that a FPS is not that great... Tell me what FPS you think is better. Its really all on the preference of your gameing... If you like turned base crap fine... But I like games where you can just pull out a gun sit back and kill. Yes its brutish but the thing about halo that ownz is the fact you can make it like a military game by taking off shields or you can make it like a gay game by adding overshields...

Also Halo is the only FPS that offers everything .... all other FPS's offer one of something but not everything... For instance tell me what FPS has vehicles, and hijackable vehicles, and flying vehicles, variety of maps, a brillian lobby system, melee, and a bad ass sword....

What is so good about halo?

Basically it started the whole shield recharging thing vs Health packs. Just think of all the games that have come out since with the same system.

Halo is very balanced and every situation presents you with dynamic 3 dimensional fighting with severe strategy. FUN FUN.

NOt too mention the level design (in my opinion) is the best in any fps ever. (And I am a fan of Quake Arena and some of the unreals)

Before Halo they made Myth... Which was a pretty popular rts I have the third one.

and marathon... which is also supposed to be a really good game.

Again, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Halo is a bad game. I've played it some and had fun with it. But as far as single player goes from what I've heard the Half-Life series has the best, and you can't say that you have to read the books to get the full expierence, we are talking about the games themselves. Multiplayer it probably does win, but I will say just because it has the most features doesn't automatically make it the best. I will agree that the shield charge system is a cool idea. But a game having a brilliant lobby system isn't really a selling point to most people.

When you get a chance check out GameStats.com and click on the highest rated tab. Halo is tied for 6th spot rating wise along with games like Half-Life 2, GTA: SA, among others and Halo 2 is .2 below that, but there are probably a lot of games between the two, not sure how many. These are based on lots of press reviews.

Again, it comes back to what cheesemac said.
Some people are fans of certain games. Half-life 2 might be better than halo 2, but as far as i am concerned, im in love with halo 2... in a way .
There will be Half-life 2 fans that say halo 2 sucks, even though it might have some better features.

Well...first of all, Farcry: Instincts it has more vehicles and weapons than Halo. It also has the "Predator" power-up in which upon picking up, transforms you into a super human. You get a super jump, ultimate strengh, and (to me the coolest aspect), when you get closer to an enemy you see an orange scent trail that you can use to track your prey and if your being stalked by someone with that power-up the controller begins to vibrate, the closer he get's the more violent it shakes.

I've never played it's online multi-player so I'm not going to compare them.

Is it like FarCry 2?
I've played FC1, it was pritty good.

But either way, im still a halo fan.

farcry instints would be awesome... if the damn beaches when looked @ werent 1000% brightness ocpacity thus u cant see anything very well because you squint @ ur own tv... and unlike halo 2, in farcry instints if 1 guy starts shooting earliy enough you die in an instant... @ least in halo 2 you could, run... or have very sufficient warning... like a guy with a glowing sword or a roar of a tank

a fav tactic of mine is the plamsa pistol/magnum combo... 2 shot kill! only a sniper rifle can beat that... and a rocket launcher... and a tank... and a shotgun and sword... hmmm... should of considered those

but the best technique is to crouch up and down on their bodies after their dead... hopefully, the camera would still be focused on their corpse to see you violating them!! lol

Plasma pistol and and magnum is good but not in large maps... that sort of thing would be perfect in foundation and other small maps...
Shotgun and Sword together are not a great combpo... i prefer sword/shotgun and battle rifle.. Its good for short and medium range... and can hold alright against long range...

Shotgun can beat sword if your good enough.

My fav combo is sword + rocket. They think there so good running away, so i cant catch them with the sword, then KABOOM!

I go with the "whatever I can get my hands on strategy". Meaning whatever guns I get I'll use whichever I feel is the better weapon unless I'm dual weilding of course.

Yeah that works... u also gotta take into consideration the map.. if your on a large map with 4 or more people.. it wouldnt be wist to use a battle rifle/sword or shortgun combo.. A shotgun/sniper combo would be best...

But shotgun insnt as humiliating as sword .
Ppl envy the sword, they think its unstoppable. Well, n00bs do... Its good to make them cower in fear.
