Actally there are sensors that you attach to the TV so it knows where the remote is. So the whole being outside of the "box" thing won't be a big deal.

I think shooting games will be awesome with it. And games in first person view.

But I think maybe having it so you could choose if you want an enhanced battle system so you could do that as an option would be cool and also have another option for just the original battle system.

14) In the remake, what do you think of using dialects and accents like in Chrono Cross?

They were cool and added to the characters' personality...Keep 'em
I don't really care either way; it didn't affect anything
I'll boycott Square if they use bad accents like that again

Accents are good if they aren't automated, since real people don't use a predetermined ending on every other word, and really, their accents usually cause them to say each word in a different way. (Frog's accent is an example of what I'm thinking of.) So, the latter choice for me. If Square-Enix put accents in but left it up to the scriptwriters to judge which words would need modification to show the accent, then that would be fine. Even better if the scriptwriters themselves talked in the accent they were trying to convey to paper.

15) In the Remake, during the group of side-quests near the end of the game, do you think there should be a quest that takes place in 65,000,000 BC, involving Ayla?
Yes
No
Don't Know / Don't Care

16) Which extras would you like to see added to the Remake?
New Characters
New Locations
New Equipment/Weapons
New Techs / Double Techs / Triple Techs
New Side-Quests
Secret Characters
Secret Bosses
FMVs
Galleries (art, movie, voice, etc.)
Mini-Games
A Multiplayer Mode
Online Access
Nothing, leave the game as-is

17) Should the Chrono Trigger Remake have voice-acting?
Yes
No
Don't Know / Don't Care

18) Should Crono be able to speak outside of the secret Side-Show Ending in the Remake?
Yes
No
Don't Know / Don't Care

19) Which video-game genre would you most like to see a Chrono Trigger Remake in?
RPG, of course!
Platformer
First-Person Shooter
Fighting
Simulation
Strategy
Puzzler
Sports

(Hope I didn't leave any genres out... )

20) Should the Chrono Trigger Remake be an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game)?
Yes
No
Don't Know / Don't Care

I dont' think you could make it an MMORPG and keep it Chrono Trigger. Also, why would they remake it as a different genre?

Yeah, not for a CT remake. On the other hand, a Chrono MMORPG *WOULD* be interesting! Dealing with different maps for different eras, with the actions of a player in the past causing temporal fluxes and changes to the future, etc... Rather than choosing a race and class, you'd probably choose a time period and class, with classes being a bit restricted based on what era you chose. (You couldn't choose a wizard-type class in 65M BC, for instance.) Course, race choices could be available in the Middle-Ages...choosing Mystics and so on... And then the ability to mix classes a bit would be cool... Play as a fighter class in 600 AD or 1000, and go to the EoT at a certain level to learn magic (I say at a certain level because by then your actions so far could be weighed to determine your element), and then maybe add a little Zealian magic to your physical arsenal, though you'd never excel at it quite like the players who choose native Zealians...

Hmm... What an interesting idea that would be!

I'm surprised you guys aren't expressing any opinion whatsoever on questions 17 and 18. I would've figured they'd spark a debate of some kind.

And I know darn well that Square won't change genres for the Remake. It's just a poll idea, okay?

I'm not one of those gamers who wants almost nothing changed, even in a game where the original was so great. I like games where they play almost like a movie (ala Final Fantasy X), and that would most certainly also mean Crono talking. Am I a radical? Maybe. But does it make sense? I think so.

People can criticize Crono's voice all day long (as some retards constantly accuse Tidus of being gay no matter how much he ain't), but I think that's really just a display or idiocy unless the actor really, REALLY displayed a lack of acting skills. That's usually not a problem Square has though... Admittedly what they DO have a problem with, though, is matching the character's body movements exactly to the inflections of what they're saying. This makes it look like bad acting on occasion, but if you just listen to the voices without looking at the screen, you realize the acting ain't bad at all.

Plus, I always thought it was a dumb (no pun intended) idea in the beginning to create that whole "silent protagonist" thing. I think it started with Dragon Warrior...but anyway, I always thought it was lame. No one had any problem with the hero talking in Secret Of Mana. Granted he didn't have a lot of lines, but he DID have an apparent personality that came out from time to time.

The whole point of the silence though is that he is supposed to be you (ala Link). So that's why I say he either shouldn't talk or wait until the ending to talk. I just hope they don't totally mess up characters by giving them bad voices.

Right, I understand the point... I just don't think it helps. I never once pictured myself as Crono, or if I ever have, it hasn't been because he didn't speak. I could just as clearly imagine myself as Tidus regardless of whether he speaks or not. I understand WHY they do that, but think about it... Does it REALLY make a difference? Does it really accomplish the purpose of letting you imagine yourself in that character's shoes?

Personally I feel more attached to a character when they DO speak, and especially if they say something that I would say right when I'm thinking it. (Tidus did that several times, and Rikku did it once or twice as well... Tidus kinda was the voice of the courageous side of me, and Rikku was the voice of my sarcasm!)

You seem to equate lack of agreement with your opinions and lack of intelligence or lack of ability to provide worthwhile input. We're about to get a very significant influx of different opinions on this site, and we should try to avoid that.

I don't want Crono to speak in the remake. That would be providing a character personality to a character who didn't have a predetermined personality in the original. That is too significant of a character change for me to agree with in a remake. That is in essence removing the character that we've all come to believe for ourselves as Crono and putting a completely new character in his place. Keep in mind that the character that Square writes for Crono (with the new lines) could completely contrast with your understanding of Crono. I have a feeling that such a change would be very unwelcome for you. I wouldn't want them to create Crono in a way that would go against my understanding of who Crono was either. For this reason, I think Crono's silence should be carried on to the remake.

Nah Props, I just get testy when some people are like "OMGzzorz im not gonna bye teh game if kr0n0 talks, taht suckz lolz"

Or in a more realistic example, I saw a post at another forum discussing the Nintendo Revolution's controller, and some guy that said he wasn't going to buy a Revolution JUST because of the controller. He was planning to until he saw the controller. Do I need to explain myself there? Or can we both agree on the term "moron" for that person who bases a major console purchase on something like whether he likes the look of a controller he's never held before?

Don't mean to sound short, LOL...but I'm going to play WoW
