I haven't watched much TV in the last decade beyond sports and the occasional movies being played. Shows over here are disgusting, contests can be fun but inevitably get boring in the long run, news are a thing of the past with all other media we have, no exclusive series is worth anything in my opinion... I'm sure others think otherwise (even I have skipped local series labelled as iconic by many, but they're simply not my taste so no way I'm watching them), just that in my case the TV has been long dead.
I use the TV more for Youtube and sports apps. And even now I'm considering to use "nefarious means" to watch them because I'm tired of needing several apps to just watch a small portion of content, between other things. My girlfriend does use apps like Netflix and such, and while she won't accept it, she'd turn to "nefarious means" as well because she's fed up with exclusivities and price policies and more.
And yes, television is basically a thing of the past. There's nothing they can offer that we don't have in [insert a random platform here]. Hell, even traditional contests held for two decades on TV jumped to Prime Video to continue in the same format, so they can't even fight back with anything originally theirs. They're now something more of a niche, with good things here and there which may or may not resist the chop, and their only way to be powerful relies on milking beyond its limits the few jewels they can produce. Pathetic, imo.
Seeing you're doing similarly at the other side of the puddle, despite how different TV has always been there, is kind of interesting. I guess that local problems may also be a thing of the past nowadays, who knows.
