Story time. Went to Texas Roadhouse last week to get some steak and ribs. The food was good and all, though not a fan of BBQ sauce or any steak sauce, but I tried the A1 sauce and tbh it was gross. Ate my porterhouse rare (as it should be. Medium rare at most) and my date got well done sirloin. Like what?!?!? Well done? Were you mistreated as a kid getting food? Poor soul basically eating a rock like why?!

Anyways then I read here that someone ate their steak well done too. Might as well eat rocks why don’t you, same consistency and taste. The absurdity of such a delicate meat ruined by cooking all the way through and chewing like the cow that has been slaughtered.

Anyways. How do you like your steak? Preferably, I always ask mine rare, medium rare if I don’t trust the establishment.

I love my steak medium. In fact, when I cook steaks I usually cook it at medium. To me Medium is the ideal style its usually juice and has a nice warm/pink center. Its not too rare and not well done either. I'm am not a fan of well done to me well done is tough.

I thought I liked steaks well done but people keep calling it like rocks. I have always heard it being equivalent to shoe leather. I think most of my family will cook it medium well unless you ask them to cook it differently.

I like my steak cooked medium-rare. If it's a prime rib roast, I enjoy it rare.

I'm going to take this thread even further and say that I am a huge fan of steak tartare. I've been eating raw beef for years. If safely handled, I believe that raw beef, eggs, and certain seafoods are incredibly healthy.

I have converted to medium rare the past few times I ate steaks. As much as I enjoyed them cooked medium, medium rare looks more appealing when cut open, and in my opinion, you can taste the seasoning stronger, yet still savor that classic, juicy flavor like a steak that was cooked medium.
