2023 was definitely a lower point for Vizzed. Traffic wasn't terrible, but my IT position kept me so stressed and busy throughout the year, it resulted into me being unable to invest the time into the site that I had planned. The only 2 notable updates to the site included:
-New Post Editor, which is still somewhat in development.
-Implemented Various Security and other various optimizations to the site's code.

Vizzed.com turned 20 years old earlier this year. I might still find time to make a 20 year anniversary video before the month ends, but unlikely at this point.

A lot of veterans returned to the site in 2023, which was very exciting to see. It gives me a lot of hope for 2024. Something that also excites me for 2024 is that my work schedule will be more flexible. I'll be allowed to work from home again (1 day a week) and I'll be allowed to adjust my hours so that I can work 4 days a week at my job, giving me 1 day a week where I can focus on Vizzed. For those who don't know, my weekends are set aside for my family, and after a long day of mentally exhausting programming, I don't have the brain capacity of motivation to work on Vizzed after I get home from work, so usually the only time I work on Vizzed is when I take days off (from time to time I'll do things after work or on the weekend, but it's not common).

Next year will be the 20th anniversary of Vizzed Board, and also the 10 year anniversary of the Minecraft Server. I have something special planned for both events

I don't think supercool coming back, becoming a mod and getting member of the year in a span of a year was on anyone's bingo card this year. Even i wasn't expecting it but here we are.

I would like to thank EX Palen and Claytune (formerly SonicOmelette) for having me on the staff them. I'm glad i can contribute this much to the site. I have no plans on stepping down anytime soon.

You know I would say something to make my ego feel great about the 736 posts being only on an iPhone and winning tour de vizzed on the iPhone and you know, being online every day on an iPhone. My computer doesn’t get used at all unless it’s for gaming sadly… anyways most active user? Me? Oh you guys shouldn’t have, let me make a speech.

I’ve been traveling for many hours. Was I certain that I know where I was going? I asked myself why was I going to this direction. Over horizon I see a site. For a change, fortune smiles on me. Though I have heard legends of this site, hideous staff members and admins that prowl unexpected users at night. Though this site holds a place to pass the night, it also promises a collection of games plus forums, and more. Until Nintendo attacked us.

As this site has adequate cover for a community as the years pass by, the numbers dwindle but held up as users fade into the misty fog of the forums as night signals its coming. Though when the darkness falls away to the morning, gotta appreciate the trouble the he went through, especially a one man job at that.

That person be me. You thought it was David, pffft no this is my ego speech. Either as a bystander, an active user on the forum or back in the old chat room days (still banned from vizzed discord). I stayed and watched as these people go in and out while slowly making a name of myself as the alpha of this pack. Don’t even say “what about the admins or staff? They’re above you” well guess what? They’re doing a remarkable job except than holding me back from being ruthless Becky, we gotta negotiate a middle ground, but just cause they have power doesn’t mean they’re Becky. You heard game is game, well Becky is Becky. Finally some recognition for being in this site for 14 years (15 if I could ever find my name of an old user account because I was here when they had a donation bar for the SNES). I would appreciate it if these… ci-viz-ians would stay half as long as me.

Anyways it’s crazy how ten years ago or so I was voted meanest and such now I’m “most active”. See how much of a dynamic change that’ll be. Let’s see what else I won

Going from wordiest and most CP gained to wisest and most mature means one thing I must accept. Its finally officially official: I'm old xD

My least active year ever in the site gets rewarded with two very special distinctions. This has made me realize that no matter how small my contributions may be, they are still very valuable for some. I didn't need any motivation to stay as active as my free time allows me, but it's good to have reasons beyond the ones fueling me now.

If my real life can go back to a non-crazy schedule, I definitely plan on getting back in contention for those awards of words and CP hunting. And I totally need to get my userpic a long gray beard (and hair?) to denote the maturity and wisdom I've achieved

Let's keep pushing for that 20th birthday of the site, absolutely ecstatic to see what plans has David for that.
