Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games! This oddly enough is one of my favorite games on the Wii I honestly think it's great. For the rest of the review I'm going to shorten the title to "London 2012".

Graphics 8/10 -
One advantage this game gets from coming out so late into the Wii's life cycle is it honestly looks way better than it has any right to for a Wii party game. If I had to pick something to nitpick I'm not the biggest fan of some of the character models like on the Sonic side of things I think all of the Mario characters look fine but the Sonic cast look off compared to other titles but it's still probably some of the best models they got on the Wii.

Sound 10/10 -
I didn't realize how hard this soundtrack went until I started listening to it to write about it. I think the reason I was highly underrated this soundtrack for years is way back in like 2013 I set all of my songs to be how I wanted them at the time cause you can unlock music and set what songs you want where in the game (shout out Sonic Heroes for Football (Soccer) it for some reason just works) and I replaced most of the remixes made for the dream events and the original songs made for the events with the music I unlocked so I hadn't heard most of the tracks for years. I'm really shocked how hard some of the remixes go like I know people hate the New Super Mario Bros athletic theme cause it's used in like 3 Mario games but the remix for it in this game is crazy good.

Addictive 10/10 -
The thing that makes this game for me is the Olympic events where I would say a vast majority are at least a 7/10 and there's a couple that would be even higher. One of those such events is Rhythmic Ribbon where I'm nigh unstoppable I legit think the only time I've ever lost that event is the very first time I played it I always play with Csikós Post as my song of choice and as ridiculous as it is to see Sonic perform a dance routine I always go all out on that event. One of the other events I think is really good is Football it's so simple but can be so fun if you get really into the music and can get an intense game going. Something I've not really mentioned to this point is Dream Events which give interesting twists to the normal events to make them more how they might be done in the Mario or Sonic world. So for example Dream Horse Riding is done in Moo Moo Meadows from Mario Kart Wii with you working with the other players to overcome obstacles. It's a really neat idea that adds a lot more to enjoy than if they simply just called it the quits after making the normal events. I think the most addictive part of the is London Party where you play both the events featured in the main game and events exclusive to London Party. That being said most of these events I wouldn't say do much more than mix up the action of just playing normal old Olympic events or dream events. Though that doesn't mean some can't be fun like the trivia ones even if the game totally cheats I mean how can you ask a question like "does sonic like hamburgers?" have yes or no be the options not be allowed to switch your answer then right before the buzzer goes down switch to "wait no chili dogs?" Another one I think is fun is this one where your like running on a highway in 2d avoiding obstacles and you can jump on the other players heads to try and mess them up. London Party also likes to challenge players by having special rival fights where you can gain more stamps by beating said rival. Speaking of stamps that's the objective in London Party you race to fill up a page of stamps or up to 3 pages of stamps depending on how long you want the game mode to last. What makes London Party even more fun to play to the finish is you get scratch cards where you can unlock more music and costumes and when you don't get one from a scratch card it gives to a blank card which you can then save up and buy an item you want instead of trying to get lucky.

Depth 7/10 -
I mentioned most of what I would put into depth normally in addictive just describing why I love this game so much however have no fear for there is still one thing I left to talk about here. Something the game has is Records for you to try to beat at most events which are normally quite challenging to actually break requiring you to master the game mode before trying to break them.

Difficulty 5/10 -
One area where I do have to knock the game a bit is most of the events feel way to easy on the hardest difficulty where once you master them the hard CPUs don't have a chance in the world of beating you. Even in London Party the difficulty increase doesn't really do much though something that can affect you in London Party is the stamp pages have ?s that do random effects and they get more drastic the longer you wait to activate them and one of the late game ones that always seems to happen to me is one where your page gets traded for the person who activated it which can really catch you off guard and put you in a bad situation if you're not careful.

Overall 9.3/10 -
London 2012 is a great little party game for the Wii and probably the best entry in the Mario and Sonic series so I would recommend playing this if you for some reason have a Wii and the game still.
