OK SO I DISCOVERED THIS GAME YESTERDAY AND IT IS THE ONLY THING I HAVE PLAYED SINCE THEN AND OH MY GOD I NEED MORE PEOPLE TO PLAY THIS IT IS SO GOOD WOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ok i'm done
So this game's probably kind of a weird one to most of you. To sum it up briefly, you slide rows and columns of blocks around (like a rubik's cube basically) and you can erase blocks like every other puzzle game ever by lining them up in a full cross (a whole row up and a whole row across) along the board. There are some special types of blocks as well. Star blocks give more points if cleared, locked blocks can't move off the edge of the screen and warp around, and X blocks can't move, period. A simple concept but it works well.
Graphics: 10 I think this is the main reason most people buy this game. The interface is basically a simplistic futuristic type of thing. It is very clean but so sooooooooooo nice to look at. I NEED MORE GAMES WITH THIS KIND OF ART STYLE
Sound: 8 I actually wasn't really a fan of this game's soundtrack at first but after listening to it more it's starting to grow on me. It's a little difficult to explain but if you've ever played games like Monkey Ball or Tetris Grand Master it's pretty similar to those. Not really sure what you'd call this type of music
Addictiveness: 9 Read the first paragraph. This game kept me playing FOREVER, and that's an impressive feat. There's also a few different modes (it even has multiplayer!), and of course there's extra content to unlock on top of that too. Nothing big, mostly just extra skins, music, and backgrounds. But there's still quite a bit.
Story: N/A No story. There was one planned, but it got scrapped before the release. sadness
Depth: 6 In terms of depth, there isn't a whole lot to talk about. I've already said the gameplay here is fairly simplistic...
...that is, assuming you're playing solo.
When it comes to the multiplayer the depth is a whole new story. The multiplayer mode throws a whole bunch of new special blocks into the mix. 16, to be exact (each character has 1 exclusive to them, then the remaining 8 can be used by everyone). These do all sorts of things when cleared, some destroy more blocks, some make your health drain slower, there's even one that just reverses the other player's controls.
Difficulty: 6 Depends. If you're playing multiplayer the difficulty is obviously going to depend on who you're playing against. In endless mode, you can actually set the grid size from anywhere between 6x6 to 16x16. Endless starts out fairly simple but if you survive long enough it will go full chaotic on you (we're talking like at least 2 X blocks on the board at all times). There's also the time attack mode where the difficulty stays the same the entire round, but you can still change the grid size.
Overall: 8 This is such a great little game that I feel went tragically unnoticed and really deserves more attention. Please play it, it's only 8 bucks which is far cheaper than it deserves to be
