A Good bootleg port of the best nes game of all time!   aoacreeper975
Graphics: Not the best for the atari 2600 but there OK, But this is a bootleg where talking about.
Sound: The sound is really good, for a bootleg. it sounds alot like the nes.
Story: The same as mario bros. Save peach from the turtle, blah blah you know the drill.
Depth: same levels as the real game on the nes.
controls: Bad. They are hard to use and i was using a Real controller for the Atari "I own a copy of this game."
Overall: its a ok port. if the real game was not for the nes this would be a nice game. 8.3  if you want to have fun and you have a Atari like me, go on ebay and get this game.

Princess Rescue AKA Super Mario Bros. 2600   MegaMario32
Starting all, The atari 2600 has a pretty weak console, that the games have less
to offer like getting a high score getting to the of the screen, avoiding objects
(enemies). But the atari 2600 never had a super mario bros game. So a brillant
guy just ported the game with everything, mushrooms,Fire
Flowers,Goombas,Koopas, EVERYTHING. But now i gonna analyze the graphics.
The Animation, Is pretty good, it moves slighty and the goombas move normal
form. The koopa kid animation is awesome too!
The Mario, It's based on the graphic from the game super mario bros 3.
Launched for the NES, Some graphics are just draw by the own author without
ripping off. It's what i like, Original Draw Sprites.
So the graphics earn a : 9! The graphics are awesome the colors are awesome
principally when mario gets a fire flower that he have a very cool shading that
more good for the eyes.
GRAPHICS : 9!
The Sound, It's good to hear the classic smb song, and even in atari it gets
more oldschool, if this game launched in 1982 the atari has been alive still
today, so the author get a good work put the songs, My favorite music in this is
the Underground. It's so agradable. ^_^
SOUND :  9!
Addictiveness, Sure the game is addictive because i can't stop playing this. i
play this everyday. trying to beat and if i can't i stop then i try later to beat
again. it's the feeling of the oldschool gaming, you play, and play, and play
trying to beat but of weeks of training you finally beat and got the feeling of a
GREAT WORK.
Addictiveness: 10!
Story, Well, the original super mario bros, got story like, bowser turned the
toads into blocks them captured the princess and bla bla bla, but this is a atari
game so it's not a thing that we would see everyday. seeing a atari game that
have a story to start. So it's only get 4 points.
Story: 4!
Depth, The game have too much to offer for a atari game, 16 LEVELS!, Full of
dangers to you play, it's too much for a atari game and it's pretty hard to beat
too, so looks like the game is have 24 Levels because of the difficulty, that i
gonna review later.
DEPTH: 8!
Difficulty, Yeah... the game is easy on the first levels but when you play, and
play and play, the thing gets harder the controller is a bit hard to control but in
the time you gonna catch the way how to do this. the bosses are hard (I don't
gonna comment them to not give spoiler) And they jump and jump. But if you die
a little more you gonna learn that if you have attention you gonna beat and get
more addict to this. that's what happened to me folks. So i give, 6 points,
because it's not harder to me anymore.
DIFFICULTY: 6!
Final rating, 9! It's a pretty good game to see working an a atari, if i haved a
atari still today and a catridge of this, i would play everyday. it's cool the
graphics the music and the characters, everything is creative. Now
congratulations for the author. that maked that game. see  you soon.

pretty much smb as you remember   romulo27
Alright so here I am, princess rescue is basically super Mario bros on Atari 2600, and it looks nice, and also plays nice, I really like this port, it has better sounds than many Atari games, story is blank simply because it uses the same history as super Mario bros, it includes a few super Mario bros actual levels, the game works pretty simple, controls well, and isn't really that hard, indeed I think actual super Mario bros is harder, but that's probably because of Atari limitations, I didn't own a Atari 2600, but, I played many games on emulator, about the game itself, i seem to get stuck in world 4, i couldnt go any beyond that, mario does use super mario bros 3 sprites, and the blocks except the power up blocks re-appear soon as you exit and go back to the same position, the koopa sprite resembles a bit to the atari mario bros, and when you hit a power up block, it disappear instead of staying as a non-interactible block, mario when using the power up mushroom, he seems to be too big for the scenario, thats why, i got stuck at world 4-2, i couldnt make the jump and my savestate was at the end of the level, i would have to die, except i had only 1 live left, the game controls works pretty well, up runs/throws fire when with fireflower and action/fire button jumps, blocks power ups and secret power ups you find in bricks are random, with a chance of having something or nothing, ranging from power ups, 1 up mushrooms, and coins, the boss battles are pretty simple but isnt super mario bros boss battles, in fact, they are instead super mario bros 3 kind of battles, where you have to hit the head of the opponent, in this case i think its bowser jr.
its a pretty good game, and if you are bored, go for it!

Princess Rescue (aka Super Mario Bros 2600) Game Description

Oh No! BJ is at it again!

Will he ever learn? Better yet, will the princess? It seems like you can usually mark on the calendar when this is going to happen. Yes, once again BJ and his minions have managed to steal away the kingdom's most beloved princess and it's up to you to rescue her...again. It never fails. As par for the course, BJ will be sending out his followers to stop you from completing your task, but they can be defeated. The kingdom is filled with lots of magical stones that contain power or items that you can use along your way to help rescue the princess. Why BJ hasn't gotten rid of them by now is anyone's guess. So venture out and once again restore order to the kingdom!

Save the Princess in this familiar platform game through 16 challenging scrolling levels! Collect Power-Ups and other items to help you complete your quest while avoiding, jumping, kicking, or whatever other method to get by the boss' minions along the way. Watch out as you finish the castle stages as the ruthless boss comes in to try to do you away. Succeed and the Princess will be forever grateful.

Amazing. This game is a monster by Atari 2600 standards. A brilliantly made downgrade, I must say.
