River City Ransom The Prequel orionfoxgibson
"River City Ransom" In Ancient Japan.
That essentially sums up the experience. The Locations are amazing. The Map is new. The moves are new. The partner "Bot" is great. The music is fun. The Graphics are cool. I cant get enough. It does take a little getting used to the map and the added features to the controls, But the experience is not so painful and unforgiving. The fact you have two alternate endings should be note worthy too. But I'm Getting ahead of myself. This is practically River City Ransom 2 With a Period piece twist added to the experience. Some may not like the changes. I Do. For a few seconds you wonder if you are playing an 8-bit N.E.S. title. Allot of this game seems too advanced for its time. But I have always felt that about River City Ransom in the first place. I give this thing a 9.9 for being overtly ambitious and inventive and giving way more than what the average gamer for this console might expect. All executed wonderfully.
Not many arcade hits port well to the N.E.S. this is an N.E.S. title that will be hard to port well to the arcade due to length and the charm of the N.E.S. console style. I have been thankful to own a N.E.S. due to Mario, Mega Man, and Castlevania alone. Very few Titles get that same tier of value put on them. So, 9.9 it is.
Give "Technos" a thumbs up for this game series alone.
Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.
