Pokemon Black 2 Review   gamerforlifefor..
Normally after a new generation's first core games come out, they work on making a 3rd core game for that generation, that's pretty much an expanded version of the previous installments. In the case of the 5th generation, Game Freak went in a completely different direction, instead creating sequels for Pokemon Black and White, which are called Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2. The only other time that a core sequel has been made was Gold and Silver, which took place 3 years after the events of Red and Blue. In Black and White 2's case, they take place 2 years after Black and White. Today, I'll be reviewing Pokemon Black 2, because that was the one I decided to buy when it came out back on October 27th, 2012.
Graphics: 9/10 As one could probably expect, the visuals are unchanged from Black, though there are some new areas that weren't around in Black 2's predecessor.  One of those areas include Aspertia City, which unlike other starting towns in the series, is actually a fairly populated city. Some of the other new areas include Lentimas Town, which is located in a desert, Humilau City, which is a city located along the coast. These areas add a little more diversity to the Unova region, but they aren't anywhere near as beautiful as my favorite area from Black 2, Marine Tube. The Marine Tube is an underwater tunnel, where you can see just how beautiful Unova's sea is. These new areas give Black 2 slightly more visual appeal than it's predecessor. Since I gave Black's graphics an 8, I'll be giving Black 2's a 9.
Sound: 9/10 Pokemon Black 2 has one of the most massive soundtracks that I've seen from the Pokemon series. A lot of the music from Pokemon Black is still there, unchanged, though some of those songs got remixed. Some of which includes Ghetsis' theme, as well as the rest of the Team Plasma themes. Those remixes are among the best I've heard in a video game. In addition, there's also some new music that was thrown in there, including Hugh's theme, which is the most intense rival theme in the Pokemon series. Along with all those amazing themes, there's also some remixed music from previous generations of Pokemon thrown in there as well. Each previous gym leader battle themes and champion themes are remixed and can be heard in Black 2, as well as the Regi theme and sealed chamber themes from the gen 3 games. The Sinnoh and Kanto gym leader. as well as the Blue theme remixes are almost, if not better than the original versions of those songs. With all these amazing themes packed into one game, I thought about giving the sound a 10,  but there were a couple of remixes that missed the mark. The Cynthia theme is nowhere near as epic as it was in the gen 4 games, and like in HeartGold and SoulSilver, the Johto Champion theme was botched as well. Other than those 2 themes though, Pokemon Black 2's soundtrack is worthy of a 9.
Addictiveness: 9/10 Pokemon Black 2 has even more replay value than it's predecessor.  There are several more towns and cities to explore than in Black, and there are other locations that weren't in Black to explore as well. What makes Black 2 more addicting than it's predecessor though is the Pokemon World Tournament, where you can compete against other trainers, whether they're gym leaders from other regions, or champions. You and the other competitors compete in a bracket styled tournament to wee who's the best trainer in the world. This is the best feature I've seen since the Battle Frontier was introduced in Emerald. In addition to this awesome mode, the Pokemon Subway is back from Black, and you can catch Pokemon from outside of the Unova region in the main story, unlike it's predecessor. Overall, Black 2 is one of the most enjoyable games in the Pokemon series. Overall, I'm giving the addictiveness of Black 2 a 9 out of 10.
Story: 8/10
The storyline in Black 2 starts the way that most other Pokemon stories do, you go on a journey to collect the gym badges and eventually battle to become the champion. In this game, 2 years have passed since the events of Black ended. Team Plasma (now referred to as Neo Plasma) has returned and once again, they want to liberate Pokemon from humans. You, along with your friend/rival Hugh, must stop them. The story is a step down from Black, and honestly, it's nowhere near as gripping as the one from Black, but it's still worthy of an 8 in my eyes.
Depth: 8/10
Pokemon Black has some of the most depth I've seen in a Pokemon game.  Along with the new Pokemon World Tournament I mentioned in the addictiveness category, there are more areas throughout Unova than in it's predecessor, all the previous installments features are present in this game, and unlike in Black, you can catch Pokemon from other regions in the main storyline. Overall, with the addition of the PWT, Black has enough content for me to give this category an 8.
Difficulty: 3/10 Unlike Black, it's sequel is far easier in every way. All of the gym leaders can be defeated without much training, and the Plasma leader as well as the elite four and champion pose little to no threat to your team. While this game isn't quite as easy as Pokemon X and Y, Pokemon Black is still easy enough for me to give the difficulty of Black 2 a 3.
Overall Score: 8.7/10 Pokemon Black 2 is even better than it's predecessor. With more Pokemon to catch in the main story, the addition of the Pokemon World Tournament, and many fantastic remixes of music from previous Pokemon generations, Pokemon Black 2 is the best game from Gen 5! Overall, Pokemon Black 2 is worthy of an 8.7 out of 10.

Overall (Also a brief Description about the game)- 10
So this is a good pokemon i played. I had some up’s and down’s with Pokemon Black 2 (And a few rage quits when losing a battle. At least im not the only one). What’s weird about this game is that its the second part of a pokemon in the same region. There really isnt a huge difference in Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon Black. Some of the gym leaders are the same. A lot of the pokemon you catch are the same but now you could easily catch pokemon from different regions without waiting until you beat the game or trade. So you already know there are other things in the game you could in the game that are great and some of these things you could only do in Pokemon Black 2.
Graphics- 8
Well since pokemon X and Y came out, Pokemon Black 2 graphics are nothing compared to X and Y. Anyway the graphics are good. They did try to make the graphics looks great for the DS. (not a lot of DS games have great graphics but thats my opinion). So you could see that Pokemon Black 2 made everything look different from pass pokemon games. You have 3D like buildings and landscapes. Some of the Scenes from the game have a great graphics. But they still have the 2D people and pokemon, but it really doesn’t matter to me. If Pokemon Black 2 was made for the 3DS, it would of looked very different. Anyway the graphics are good, its not the best. But its good.
Sound- 9
So the sounds and Music in Pokemon Black 2 are great. I know, most of the music in the game is just a enhanced version of the Pokemon Black music. But i still think its great. Its usually the gym leader and the regular battle music that has been enhanced from the original Pokemon Black Music. Everything else is different. So the background music is good. There were a few times i turned up the volume to hear the music. I just like that much. The sounds are about the same as usual in all pokemon games. The cry of the pokemon are the same, also your usual poorly noticed sounds did not change. Like the sound of rustling grass, you getting on and off and riding your bicycle, and other sounds that i can't really remember at the moment. Anyway the sounds are good. That i why i rated this category as a 9/10.
Addictiveness- 8
There are few times when i think to myself “am i wasting my life playing this game all day”. Maybe i do realize i spend too much time playing this game than doing other important things, but Pokemon Black Version 2 is just very addictive. I use of spend hours playing this game. Sometimes i lose track of time. It was that great. But since other pokemon games were being released. I started losing interest in this game. It happens a lot. You get addictive to one game and then another cool game comes out and you want to play that game. I had lots of fun with Pokemon Black 2. I also wanted to finish this game each time i start a new game and each i do start a new game something different happens until eventually you notice that you did everything you could ever do in this game and there’s nothing left. It happens sometimes. Anyway this game is really addictive and i know most of you enjoy or still play this game.
Story- 8
Well lets begin your new journey in the Unova Region. As usual you start off in your hometown. (i kind of forgot the name of this town and/or city. You usually meet your rival once you leave...and he wants to challenge you. I know, most of you beat him like thousands of times before, so you really don't worry about. The story is a little different from how other pokemon games are. You get your pokemon from a random girl (you all know her, but the person you’re playing as does not). Its not the professor herself though. So like always you travel the region. Training your pokemon, so you could defeat the gym leaders (because you're awesome). Also you have defeat the evil team Plasma and its leader. Thats the end of the story, Or is it.
Depth- 7
Pokemon Black Version 2 has a lot to offer. There is no limit to what you could do in this games. Like usual you enjoy playing this game with friends and you go out on a journey to defeat all gym leaders and earn all 8 badges and defeat the Pokemon League. (or in this game...you defeat team plasma). You could also catch, train and trade pokemon whenever you want. (internet required for trades if you didnt know). There are exotic and great places to visit, like PokeStar Studio and The Pokemon Battle Tournament (that place is where you would really enjoy battling trainer and gym leaders from other regions). So this game has a lot of depth and you would really enjoy it.
Difficulty- 6
If you never play this game, theres a possibility that Pokemon Black 2 could be quite a challenge for you to beat. You would eventually run into some problems that will take time to get through. I know there were some things that were complicated about this game. A few times i raged quit and try again. So make sure you do your best to get through this game. Some of the gym leaders are hard to defeat and a few people. So its best to make sure you train and raise your pokemon good or you will have a hard time. I know i did. For me its not difficult to beat the game since i already did everything i could in the game. So i hope you enjoy playing Pokemon Balck 2.
Anyway...thats the end of my review. So i hope all of you enjoyed reading (or seeing) it. Have a nice day.

The 5th Generation Sequel   zanderlex

Everybody loves Pokemon, including me, however a while back I had to take a break from the series due to DS related problems. Years ago, I played and beat Pokemon Diamond, but that was the last game that I had played for a while. I skipped Platinum, I went right past the generation 2 remakes, and I never even bothered to try to get the original Black and White. That all changed when the trailers for Black 2 and White 2 were released and I told myself that I had to get it because the graphics looked mind blowing to me at the time. I ended up selling none of mt PSP's, I saved money, and finally for Christmas I was able to get a DSI and Black 2.

I loved the game so much that I beat the game, started a new game, and beat it all over again over the course of just 2 weeks. I thought this was one of the best games in the series because if all the new features such as Join Avenue. This game is state of the art when it comes to the DS games and are way more advanced and entertaining than the previous installments in the series.

The graphics were one of the strongest points of the game because when it comes to Pokemon games, the graphics only get better as more games are released. The game series originally began with a simple game with basic colors and designs, and it had since grown into a game that features full color sprite designs, more details paths and buildings, and much better Pokemon designs and move animations. Graphics wise, this game is sharp and beautiful, it would not be fair if I gave this factor anything less than a perfect score, so that is what I am going to give it.

When it comes to the sound of the game, it is absolutely beautiful. All of the sounds have been enhanced from the previous games, even the Pokemon cry's which there are hundreds of. Then we have the basic songs of the game that are always playing whether you are going through a route, battling a trainer, or doing anything else, and I really like some of the tracks. I feel the Wild Pokemon theme is much more new and energetic than the previous versions and I also really like the tracks for the legendary Pokemon and the Elite Four. I feel this game has the best soundtrack of all of the games and I give it a perfect score.

The story for Black 2 is really one of the best and in my opinion, only X would be better because of the Mega Evolution plot. Sure, the game has the 3 plain aspects of Pokemon which are catching and training Pokemon, battling the gyms and Elite Four, and defeating the evil team, however I feel this generation did the best job on the evil team. I think Team Plasma could be the most evil and dramatic of the teams and I really liked how both Gethis and Colress were involved. I really liked most of the story and for this aspect, I am going to give another perfect grade.

As for the addictiveness, there are really not that many games that are better. I beat the game and then played it all over again just because it was so much fun. In addition to all the things you can do in the main game such as catching, battling, and other things, there are things to do online as well. You can trade with millions of people all across the world and you can battle them as well. One of my favorite aspects of the game is Join Avenue because it allows you to basically use all the online friends you have made to get all sorts of new things through the use of the shops. Doe this aspect of the game, I am going to give a grade of 9 out of 10.

Next we need to talk about the depth of the game. First, this map is huge, they took a whole region and then added a few more cities and towns for the this one. There are also so many Pokemon and things to do online. For the depth, I am going to also give a grade of 9 out of 10.

When it comes to the difficulty of the game, you learn as you play and there isn't even much to learn to begin with. If you are having trouble with a battle, it doesn't mean it's impossible, all you have to do is go back and train a bit more. Foe the difficulty, I am going to give this game a 4.

As for the overall grade for the game, this game is fun and it's easily one of the 5 beat Pokemon games that I have ever played. My overall grade for this game is going to be 9.3.
