I was thinking about making this thread in the VG Crazyness section, but decided against it because the "why" allows for some more detailed posts. SO EXPLAIN YERSELVES

So, what's your favorite soundtrack in Undertale? As for me, I have three soundtracks in particular that I like- Amalgam, Finale, and Asgore.

I like Amalgam because idk, it's kinda creepy but oddly catchy to me plus it doesn't kill my throat when I hum it, and I just like it :3. Why isn't there more Amalgam remixes on YT ><. Finale just has a lot of energy in it, makes me pumped to actually do something useful, and it's awesome. Asgore is also awesome and fills me with energy. Now, to be fair I love like 98% of the soundtrack (even if some are overrated in my opinion) but then I'd be listing like a hundred songs.

My favorite:
Another medium, because it's so funky and awesome.     When I was watching PewdiePie's playthrough of undertale I heard this music in the background,  and it pumps you up.   Kinda sad that Hotland isn't really a long area.


Megalovania aka the sans theme.  Simply put,  It's because the theme is so intense and rock hard.  Considering how much of a"Bad time" You'll have if you do the genocide route,       The Fight against Sans is crazy enough and the theme is just too good not to be on my list.



Undyne the true hero's theme:     Again, this is another intense battle theme in the genocide . And what I really like about this theme, is that it shows that Undyne isn't really a jerk character, she's actually willing to take up her entire determination just to bring you(the bad guy in this case) down for the greater good.


I felt undyne's original theme was too much how do I put it,   It sounds too much like something you'd here in a Spanish theme kinda like Fire Emblem in that sense.

Papyrus's theme.
and Asgore's theme.

SuperCrash64 : Another Medium is awesome. Hotland honestly isn't my favorite area (I like puzzles but I don't like the conveyor belts that much, and it's a little bit of a drag to go through for me personally), but I do like the themes in it ^^.

I'll be honest, I like Megalovania, (it's my profile music for some reason) but I think it's a bit overrated. It's not in my top 10 favorite themes, but I do like it and it is pretty awesome. Will I ever muster the courage to beat Sans? When I've tried I just gave up and did pacifist again ><. I guess you could say that I had a bad time.

Battle against a true hero is so amazing I can't believe I forgot about it in my thread! I also found the boss fight against Undyne fun if a bit frustrating. Part of it was probably the music xp. I liked Spear of Justice (Undyne neutral), but I prefer a lot of other themes over that one.


His Theme is amazing and sad, Bonetrousle is also pretty good, and I've already talked about Asgore :p

Since this is regarding just one particular game/franchise, I'm moving this to the Video Game Franchises forum. Whilst carefully looking away as I haven't gotten all the endings on Undertale yet >.>

Spider Dance, definitely. Second place goes to "Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans". Third, Bergentrückung + ASGORE. I like to whistle and "ba" the themes. Maybe I'll become a sort of Smooth McGroove one day. It would be fun!

supernerd117 : Spider Dance is actually not one of my favorites. It's good, but, I never really liked it that much. Muffet also annoyed the heck out of me the first time I fought against her so that could also be why I don't like the theme that much. Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans is pretty awesome and I like how they used MMX guitar rift samples in the song :3. It never plays ingame to my knowledge, but it's still pretty awesome (that Bonetrousle at the end tho). On Smooth McGroove's video on Asgore, someone commented about them only hearing "papapa" in the video and now that's all I can hear on that video xp.

I personally really love Bergentrückung and ASGORE, they convey the feeling of the battle perfectly. It gives you sort of sad tone, amplified by the fact that Asgore does not want to fight you by him not wanting to look you in the eye as he tries to kill you. He doesn't want to kill you, but he must in order to free his people, he wants to give them hope. To me this song represents how he must fight you to free his people, while regretting every choice he has made as well as events such as making Toriel, his wife despise him as well as his son dying. I hope that made sense, I'm not that good at explaining things.

Never really understood undertale, ill have to check it out someday

18mlivingston : All of Asgore's attack don't depend on where you are, which means that he can't stand to look at you while fighting you, the poor thing :c. And at the end of the fight, if you win, Asgore wants you to kill him because he wants to be with his son again (and wife, if you killed her in the playthough). Of course it doesn't really matter in the end since in the neutral run Flowey kills Asgore no matter what you do, but it's pretty sad :c. I agree, the song conveys that so well which is why it's one of my favorite tracks in Undertale (definitely top 5) ^^.

SuperGustafson9 : Then why did you reply here? You do know that you can listen to the soundtracks on YT without having or knowing anything about the game right? In fact the soundtrack is the sole reason why I wanted to play the game in the first place...

I'd definitely have to say megalovania is my favorite. It's not only by far my favorite theme in Undertale, but it's also what I'd consider to be one of the best boss themes in video game history.

But seriously as I've mentioned before, it is a pretty good theme, but I still like other themes better :v. I know that a lot of people do really like this theme so all due respect for your opinion. As for best boss theme in video game history... I can think of a few good contenders...

i haven't listened to the whole soundtrack, but i like what i've heard so far

"undertale" comes a close second bc it makes me happy and makes me think of getting things done and tying loose ends for some reason. it motivates me a lot

my favorite would be "battle against a true hero" because it's epic but somehow cute at the same time, and just the title itself serves as one of undertale's SEVERAL attempts at guilt tripping players who pick the genocide route :p

My favorite song in the entire game is probably Asgore. There's this feeling to it that I can kind of relate to even though there are no lyrics, it's weird. I also really enjoy Your Best Nightmare and Finale just because of how crazy and intense it is. And of course, Megalovania because you know you're screwed when it plays.

I like Power of NEO. Well, at least the version used in Undertale Red. But nothing beats Your Best Nightmare/Finale, Hopes and Dreams/SAVE the World and, of course, MEGALOVANIA.

Yes, I'm a sucker for the final boss themes.
