This is the 3rd installment of the highly acclaimed action fighting budokai series for the PS2 entertainment system. This is probably the first DBZ game that has ever went above what it was hyped. Non-DBZ fans and even DBZ-bashers like this game. T

he new story mode, Dragon Universe is a big upgrade from the game board in budokai and the just play through sagas in 1. In Dragon Universe you fly around as many different characters. While flying around you can find capsules(which can contain items or special moves). The capsules you get from playing Dragon Universe you can use to customize your character under the Edit Skills(where you can also buy them with zeny you get from option on the main menu).

The next major change in this game is hyper mode. Hyper Mode is a game technique where your character becomes uneffected(except from damage) by attacks. In this mode you can use your ultimate attack by pressing triangle,X,O,n square all at the same time and landing the blow to start the ultimate move. Sure this sounds like a great thing but a major draw back is that your ki bars are drained while in this mode and your oppenent can avid most of your attacks if he is skilled. Hyper Mode also opens up the ability to open Dragon Rush. Dragon Rush is opened by putting your opponent off his/her feet n press the O button.

In Dragon Rush there are three rounds. The first round you pick 1 of 4 main buttons. There are 3 rounds and each time 1 button disapears as a choice. If in teh first round the defender picks the same button he will strike back with a kick that will crash him into teh ground and end the Dragon Rush. Any other round that the defender hits the same button the Dragon Rush will just simply end. In the third round if a player has a DRAGORUSH capsule and the attacker is succesful the special is used and a massive amount of damage is done useually killing your oppenent.

Are you a DBZ fan? Did you ever want to teleport behind the enemy instantly and give him a nice shot in the back? Or perhaps you'd like enter a classic beam struggle between Goku's kamehameha wave and Vegeta's Galic Gun? Well for the first time ever you can. They have taken the beam stuggle idea from DGT: Final Bout and made the new idea of teleporting to counter ur oppenent or add on to an attack. In teh past when two characters used a beam skill at the same time they would cancel eachother out. Now you engage in a beam struggle where whoever can rotate the left analogstick and tap a button the fastest wins. To fare though if your skill costs 2 ki meters and theirs costs 1 you will be given an advantege but not garenteed victory.

The teleporting behind the back can be done at multiple times. You can teleport when u send some off their feet(to deliver another blow), when a ki attack is on you, when your being hit, and most important of all when some1 teleports behind you. They are all really simple to do except for the last one because you must have a extremely fast reaction time. To hit your opponent after hitting him/her off their feet simply press the O button jus like you would to enter dragon rush(only not in hyper mode). The other you simply press the direction of your opponent n X at the same time. The major downside is that in order to teleport you can waste alot of energy because it can cost 5 ki bars sometimes.

The graphics of the game are much better then in the anime which useually leads to the anime fans hatting the graphics. However the graphics are almost perfect for the game it doesn't stray too far from the anime but it looks incredibly detailed.

In the end i say this games gets:
Gameplay:8.2
Graphics:8.5
Originality:10 It stayed very true to what it was while being a overall good game
Music:8 I'm not a music person but the music got to me int his 1
Replay:8.5 After getting all the moves the game is decently balanced for all characters if you put n teh fight skills

I said it was a good game in general even for DBZ bashers. SO not beign a DBZ fan shouldn't matter.

I skimmed thru the review, so I probably skimmed over that part of it fast. Can't expect me to read all these reviews thoroughly

Yes i can. Your giving out precious vizz for these. If your just skimming them thru it also means the size is more important then the quality.

For one thing, I have a life.

And I can see the quality of the review just by skimming it, usually when I skim thru a review, I read all the most important parts of it.

Usually if the grammar is bad, or if the person isn't saying anything important about the game, I point that out and deduct Viz. The format of the review matters alot aswell.

EDIT:I dont always skim thru reviews though, just if I got lots of other things to do, or if I'm about to head to work.
