I would go for new generation gaming only because I like the advancement of all technology. I love the way the gaming as advanced games today are so complex and the graphics are just outstanding. Now don't get me wrong I love retro games to though they had all the fun. Newer games are turning out to be more simulation rather then games it's like they are trying to add a learning experience as well as a gaming one. That way no one can say games eat at your brain you actually need a brain to play some of these new games nowadays!!

I'd have to say the middle-generation games were the best. Systems like the original Playstation, the Genesis, and the N64. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good newer generation games, but fewer fresh ideas.

For one thing, half the Wii games couldn't fight simply because they couldn't control themselves, their control schemes are so weird and unresponsive that they'd end up dying left and right . Plus, I wonder who'd win in a fight? Battletoads, or those lame Mii people on Wii Sports Resort? Or what about Mega Man of old versus the Battle Network or Star Force series' Mega Man, at the beginning of the game? What if X joined the fight? But the question is: What about the characters from both sides of the spectrum? Will we have Raccoon Suit Mario from SMB3 fighting Bee Suit Mario from SMG (I love that acronym !)? This war is confusing...

I'd have to say whatever generations that the SNES is in. Obviously it's retro, but, as stated elsewhere on this website, in 30 years, PS3 will be retro. So I'll have to stay with my favorite system's era.

This is one of those cases where it would be good if we could merge threads as there's good posts in here but the thread is similar to https://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/thread.php?id=5706

To add to this thread, even if this generation of consoles became retro one day it wouldn't be the same.
And it isn't really possible with the 360 what with it's fail rate, all the 360s will be dead by the time the console can be considered "retro"
