Alright, so I have finally gotten most of my necessary purchases out of the way (still need some suits and a few other things, but those aren't urgent) so I can now start looking into actively building my collection of games instead of just nabbing the occasional title on sale. And so it is that I decided to turn to my fellow Vizzards...or whatever we are... for opinions on some good games to pick up. Below I will explain the process of suggesting a game in this thread (please follow it. I'm picky, I know).


1. Of course specify the system that the game plays on.
2. Tell me what the game is about.
3. Please do not suggest ANY games that are rated by the ESRB for Strong Language, Nudity or Partial Nudity, or Strong Sexual Themes.
4. No games about the occult, demons, etc.

Finally, I will list the game systems in order of preference for suggestions, games that have already been suggested here, and games that I already have along with a rating so you know what I like. And bonus points if the games support local multiplayer.

Well before I go crazy and start listing a bunch of games I just want to make sure... is this a list of all the games you've ever played for each system or just the ones that you have at the moment?

I just don't want to suggest a game that you've played before but don't currently own.

*Whispers Uncharted 4 for PS4* It is only listed for language. Not STRONG language! Uncharted 4 is about Nathan Drake going on his 4 adventure and *shows ratings* you know you want it Eirinn. I would tell you more of what the game is about by I have not played it yet and I mostly just made this post to annoy you about Uncharted 4 some more.

Kruzer : Unless you count the cross buy games that I got for the Vita as a PS+ game that I either didn't want to finish again (Broken Age) or didn't like (Super Meat Boy) or hated with a burning passion (Super Time Force Ultra) and so didn't download, or this one Pinball F2P that I haven't touched since downloading, then this is a list of both all PS4 games that I own as well as all that I have played. I've yet to remove any games...which is why my hard drive is crying for more space.
Also the same goes for my PS Vita minus the fact that I have uninstalled a couple of games on it.

However (not that you asked) I have played far more games on the Genesis and N64 than I have listed.

Then I would have to insist on the Uncharted series for the PS4. As you know, the 4th game came out a few weeks ago but I highly recommend you to play the first three as well. Even though they don't all follow the same story line, there are a handful of characters that you meet throughout each game which will make each of the separate story lines that much more enjoyable. Fortunately, the first three games are available on one disc for the PS4 called Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Each game follows a thief/treasure hunter ( Nathan Drake ) in his quest to uncover hidden truths about the travels of some of the most famous explorers throughout history ( Sir Francis Drake, Marco Polo, etc. ).

But I'm sure you know of this game as it is only available on the PlayStation and it has been given a huge amount of recognition over the years. A definite must-play if you own a PlayStation 3 or 4.

Kruzer : Heh, I nearly bought that today actually. I'm definitely planning on it soon, probably tomorrow in fact. I've been wanting to get Uncharted 4, but like you said, I want to play the first three first, and possibly Golden Abyss.

Golden Abyss wasn't all that great to be honest. Not sure how much the game goes for now but I would wait until you see another discount or sale for it.

Another suggestion for the PS4 that I meant to put in my first post was The Last of Us. This was another incredible game by the same developer ( Naughty Dog ) and will hopefully be continued after the progression of Uncharted 4. This game follows one of the survivors ( Joel ) of a worldwide pandemic that has changed modern civilization. He is tasked with a job to smuggle a young girl ( Ellie ) out of the quarantine zone in search for relief but their simple travel turns into a dangerous cross-country journey.

It is a survival-type game that also has a very unique multiplayer experience incomparable to anything I've ever played.

Kruzer : Super late reply, but The Last of Us has strong language, also zombies so I'll have to pass on it. Uncharted Collection is officially my favorite game(s) on PS4 (working on the Platinums now), and as for Golden Abyss, I can get it for around $15 now so I'll probably get it. If it's even a decent game it'll be worth $15.

Sega genesis games. You should try sonic the hedgehog at least once! I don't know of much of anything else good on there (well, there is Flicky and Ristar that I liked.) since i don't actually have a sega genesis. But I decided to try sonic the hedgehog today (via the Sonic Mega Collection plus for ps2) Instead of trying to play fast, I tried to collect as many rings as i could as well as extra lives and secrets. Found tons of stuff i didn't expect in the second zone. It can be frustrating, but I did have a lot of fun with it. I also think that Pac Man world is on the sega genesis, but I don't know.

Nintendo 64: This is not by far a system that I really liked but it did have some games that (even though I never had an n64) know that are on there and played already, whether by this site or Nintendo E-shop

Paper Mario is a must (it's nothing like paperboy!)
Mario Party 1 and 2?
Kirby and the crystal shards (If for no other reason than the ability to combine powers)
Ms. Pac-Man Maze madness (I think it's released on the N64)
Also the Legend of zelda Ocarina of time and Majora's mask. (never played them myself, but after the others I tried, I think they'll be fun)
That's about it. You probably have already tried most of these, but hope there's something new for you here.

GASP. MARIO PARTY 3 GOT A 6.5/10 RATING?! -faints- THAT'S MY FAVORITE MARIO PARTY IN THE SERIES! You hurt my feelings.

I can only recommend Nintendo 64 games based on what you are looking for.

I recommend:

• **HARVEST MOON 64: For obvious reasons. It is also one of my top 5 favorites in the Harvest Moon series.**
  

• Mario Party 2: I think they have the best overall mini-games out of the Mario Partys in the Nintendo 64 list. It is also more gimmick-related because they have themed stages and all of the characters dress up for it.
  
• Banjo Kazooie: A platform/action/adventure game that I think you would enjoy and it also takes some time to play through this game(especially as a 1st time beginner).
• Banjo Tooie: same as above but only if you like Banjo Kazooie. This is the sequel of Banjo Kazooie.
  

FaithFighter : Thanks so Mich for reviving this thread. I was saddened by how few suggestions I got.
I have indeed played all of those except the Ms. Pacman game, but some of them I only played a very small portion of. I'm not a Sonic fan, but I do love Paper Mario and never got to finish it. Not a fan of the Zeldas you listed (maybe because of all the hype), but I do like the Mario Party games (2 was my favorite) and I loved what little I played of the Kirby game. In short I'll likely add half of those you listed to my to-buy list. Thanks for reminding me of them!


ghostfishy : Nooooo please don't hate me, fish! T_T 3 was my least favorite, and 2 was my favorite. Honestly I just didn't like then little die guy that replaced Toad and I didn't like the Millennium Star. Also felt like key parts of the game were gutted like the bank and items you could buy in the first one (not sure if the second had them). I also loved working toward filling up my bank so O could buy more stuff. 3 Had that unlocked from the start and no quest mode unless In overlooked it when In popped it in again for the first time in over a decade.

However if it saves our friendship let me say I'm still really wanting the first two as they were my favorites! :3

HM64 is of course a must.

Banjo-Kazooie is as well as it's a childhood favorite and still holds up extremely well (hopefully Yooka Laylee is able to deliver on the Banjo-Kazooie style gameplay as well). Only beat it but only with a GameShark because the final boss was too tough as a kid.

Banjo-Tooie is of course a must as well, but I didn't play much of it.


Also based on your Banjo love, I'll turn this thread around and throw you a suggestion: Diddy Kong Racing! It has Banjo in it and is an absolutely awesome game as a whole. Even better than Mario Kart 64 IMO!

ghostfishy : Hi again...I would have suggested the harvest moon, but as much as he likes the series. I just assumed he already had it.

Erinn : I think that there is also a namco museum collection on the N64 as well.   (fun arcade stuff, Galaga Pac-man and whatnot)
            Also, if you are looking for some of these, you might want to try the website JJgames.com. They've always been pretty  good to order from. I do always recommend getting the game that says "good" condition, though.

I was gonna mention Sonic Mania when it comes out for the ps4 in 2017, but... (bet you can't tell I'm really going through a sonic phase right now!

FaithFighter : He should enjoy Harvest Moon 64 since it has some of the Harvest Moon characters from Back to Nature/Friends of Mineral Town.

Eirinn : Ah Diddy Kong Racing is a fun game. I just don't like...........-shivers- T.T. I am scarred from T.T because he just follows you everywhere! HELP. CLOCKS SHOULDN'T HAVE LEGS AND BIG EYES LOOKING AT YOU. I do love the item system where the items are able to upgrade.

Mario Party 2 works similar as Mario Party 1 with the coin system to buy mini-games, some mini-games are transferred from Mario Party 1 and have been upgraded/fixed. Not sure if you still remember my Mario Party 2 review which I hope it will help you out.

FaithFighter : Yeah N64 did have a few games like that (Namco Museum) I think. I used to love those. PSX had the best collection games though because it always had more. As for HM74, I love it but don't own it. I always rented games as a kid because we couldn't afford to buy them. The only HM games I own I got over the past year and a half: Back To Nature and Innocent Life (both digital on PS Vita), A Wonderful Life (on GameCube), and Magical Melody which I won't play because it's still sealed in the original packaging (also on GameCube).


ghostfishy : Like I told FaithFighter, I lobe HM64 very much. It introduced my favorite cast and was the second HM I ever played (and convinced my sister to try and she liked it too). So many great memories...I want that most on my next HM buy but it's too expensive even loose right now. I need to wait until I can afford that much at once. :/
