Army. I work as a PLL (Primary Load Logistics) NCO, or supervisor working with the SAMS-E program on a laptop we call "the box" in the batallion motorpool. My job consists of dispatching vehicles, printing out and updating "vehicle check sheet", or PMCS sheets, going to the batallion SSA (warehouse) to pick up and/or turn in Class IX parts and updating the system. I do a few other miscellaneous tasks to. It can be busy, but it's not really suppose to. Depending what unit you're in. I have only one soldier under me, and he has a lot more experience with SAMS than I do, so in a way he is the lead between the two of us, but we act as a two-man team.

Other than that I do other Army soldier stuff like having formations, going to the firing range, going to the field (which we're about to do next week), do mandatory briefings once in a great while, soldier counselings, and inspect vehicles here in the motorpool, drink beer on the weekends and party hard.

Cyro, were you there when the shooting happened?

Anyway, I work for the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks at their Cabrillo Beach location in San Pedro. Basically, I work across the water from the Port of Los Angeles in a parking lot for a beach and get paid nearly $13/hour to sit in a booth and take money.

I do freelance web design and audio production while upgrading in both those areas at school. A nice plus!
I used to work at Convergys but don't anymore due to cutbacks and my hours being screwed up bad.

I just started work today, I'm a laborer helping to build a CCPP (clean coal power plant). If you don't really know what a laborer is, I Basically just do anything and everything I'm asked to do, whether that involves cleaning up after the welders, carrying something 20 flights of stairs up to somebody else working up there, moving supplies, getting workplaces ready, etc. I'm starting out at $14 an hour, but soon I will be getting 17+ an hour. What sucks is I dont get paid this week, you gotta wait two weeks before you get your first check

after i work a certain amount of hours. I know someone that has been working there for a little over 2-3 months and they just got their health insurance. I'm not sure what exactly I would be getting, but i do know that all meds will be free ^^

If i do good and my boss likes me, they will take me with them to their next job site, and if they do I will be getting perdium , which is basically means that they pay you $100 (this varies with your company) a day just for showing up for work (even if you get sent home) for your daily living expenses, i.e. motel, food, laundry money, gas money, etc. i really hope i get that. that's a huge weekly bonus lol

That would be nice, just keep in mind that you have to pay taxes on it later unless they take it out in advance.

Aaron, you're a cop? Neat. I didn't know there was anyone else in the LA area on the board though. Are you in Los Angeles itself or one of the surrounding areas?

Im a Boiler Maker.. which basically consists of any and all metal fabrications. I fabricate and weld structual steel to build houses, I repair and work on boats.. both aluminium and stainless steel, recently I've been working on a $3million dollar house on a hill which has been hard work. We dont have any labourers at our work, we have to do everything ourselves.

Heres a few pictures of some of the work I did last year..

It's hot work, especially out in the sun.. the arc of a weld gets up to 6000 degrees celcius but its very rewarding seeing a project completed.

I work for a security company at Menards. Menards has a lumber yard and I am the 'gate guard' that makes sure you've got paperwork to come in and I search your vehicle when you leave to make sure you've got what you wanted and nothing more. I really love my job truthfully, and it pays above minimum wage. I know if I keep with the security job, get some years into it, I know other security jobs can pay pretty well.

Until then I work outside and say howdy to the Amish (I live in nothern Indiana) and the truck drivers daily
