The best thing to do is ignore them, and not let them affect your views of that religion in a negative light (regardless of belief, if you aren't Christian). They are not Christian for doing that. They are hypocrites.

This kind of people aren't that violent. All they would do is manifest, but if they do, I can assure you there will be more people attending such events than the people they can gather to manifest against.

There's insane people everywhere. Over here, many people appear in TV calling each other Nazis, so I'm used to a high degree of stupidity. Everyone has his/her own beliefs, whether you share them or not, but seemingly there's people who simply doesn't accept that. 

As for myself, I would simply ignore them. If they want to put up a conversation, simply say: "these are my beliefs, if you don't accept that not everybody will share your opinions, ignore me as well". I'm afraid my short temper wouldn't allow more than that before slapping someone.

Yeah, I've had some personal experience with some people like this and it's not very fun. I have no problem with Christians, in fact the good ones are some of the nicest and most caring people I have ever met, but of course you'll have the ones that are just absolutely nuts.

I guess that being said though, that goes for every single other religion though. They're all pretty much the same in that aspect. You'll always have a few people that are pretty questionable.

That's...nuts. But overzealous ANYTHING is insane. Overzealous patriots; ever hear of Nazis? Or if you want a less stereotypical example, communists? Overzealous religions; Ever hear of the stuff happening in the middle east? Overzealous liberals, have you SEEN California?

With that much being said, Christians would not bomb anything, not a real Christian anyway. There are nutjobs in every culture, every religion, and well everywhere.

As a Christian you are really supposed to be peaceful, understanding, and kind. And I think if you responded to them like that, maybe they'd take another look at themselves.

Zealots are infuriating and annoying to deal with, but you shouldn't let them colour your opinion of religion as they are not true practitioners of they claim. The religios extremists you should be afriad of are those like in the middle east (stuff like Al Queda and ISIS), those who want to partake in a new crusade on North American soil (something like the KKK only more violent), or those who want to install a new theocracy through drastic measures (a modern Guy Fawkes). Hate Preachers and the wingnuts who believe them are amusing if you don't take them seriously, so just distance yourself from them if possible so they don't try to do anything physical if their that stripe of zealot.

I don't mind that you guys debate stuff like this, but please be sure to not make it bashing against a particular religion. That would be flaming.

I personally too, would agree that super conservative Religious people tend to be a little over the top with regards to certain things. Take for example the recent uproar from that sector regarding Starbucks going minimalist in their holiday cup designs this year. Like somehow they are declaring war on the holiday lol.

I do agree with Chindogu,those are the ones you should be worried about. Sure, ultra conservatives from any idea ruins everything. Ultra conservative religious nuts ruin the good people of that faith,feminists ruin the women with their ideology,fanboys ruin movies,tv,books,games,and music. But as stupid and irrational as the ultra conservatives are;there are many more that are good and do no harm or promote an agenda.

The ones that want to destroy the world,have a one religion regime,make people listen to their idiotic rhetoric,those are the ones that have no life,have no place in the world,and are quite honestly useless to society. People will always see the bad in things,like people that legally own a firearm. For every dumb f--k that uses a gun in a crime or in a shootout,there are millions that do not use their guns to harm anyone except in a life or death situation.

People need to learn to think for themselves. The ones that ISIS recruits are the ones that are the most weak-minded and easily led astray. Before you bash anyone for anything,how about doing a little reading on the subject? The Koran does not condone killing. The people that formed ISIS are little more than whiney children that did not get their way and are now blaming the world for how f--ked up they are. I have seen both sides of Christians,the bad ones just seem to get more attention. People will always twist and make things apply to them.

If the things they said were true I'd be dead by now cause my dad's a pastor. Just ignore them and pretend they don't exist. There are tons of crazy people out there, of all sorts categories and groups. 
And I watched pokemon before. And love disney. Though the smurfs are kinda creepy. But not satanic.

Every religion has their fanatics and zealots. People afraid of change who cater to other people afraid of change. I live in a household with some pretty extreme ideologies. I've never understood why people use religion to instill fear, but eh. There's crazies in every denomination, just some are louder and more violent than others.

Overzealous Christians are not a problem. Maybe they get in your face about issues they care about but they don't go around murdering people or bombing things.

Also, they don't have the silent support of the majority of the religion either. Ask any Christian about the Westboro Baptists and they will pretty clearly denounce what Westboro does in the name of Christianity.

The moment one group is silenced because we don't like what they say is the moment that anyone could have the same thing done to them and that is a slippery slope I don't want to go down.

I had a feeling someone would do this thread. I mean I can understand this problem since I am a Christian myself. Its really sad to see how most Christians see this as a problem. And only to accuse. They have not tried watching it to understand pokemon. If they did then they would understand and would not say anything bad about it. One time I went to my uncle and auntys church and bold and behold I saw what was said on here was on there. I was shocked to the purity to see what I saw before me. pokemon is not what they think heck pokemon taught me many things in life so why do they see it as an issue? Oh because zapdos is using lightning move or charzard using bunch of fire flames? I think they only see the pokemon moves and count that as a bad thing and satanic as well. My mum has come close to be one of the victims and I had to tell her otherwise that pokemon is not bad. I have passion for anime and I told her what pokemon is actually about. And I was so determinate to make sure she saw my point, understood it. And after that she never said anything bad about anime again. I can't do the same for my uncle or aunty because they will never understand it sadly. Even if I were to try. They wouldn't understand the concept of what pokemon teaches you about in life. Same goes for Disney films. Pokemon taught me to go and catch my dreams its taught other people as well. There is more that meets the eye instead of accusing something, that has not done wrong is one of them. Disney taught me many things as well. They need to learn....anime and Disney shows are not bad. My church is not so bad and is one of them out there that teaches to help people that are in need. And don't say anything about pokemon because that's what is not needed to be said about. If my bishop would had sad anything of it I would be sad and stated it. ^-^


mrkoolnerd : Please bear in mind not all Christians are not bad there are people who agree. But to kick them out of the country will not solve anything. I have learned to ignore those types of problems, and be happy with what I am happy with. They may understand someday or they may not. I refuse to let someone to say stop watching this or stop doing this without giving me a good valid reason. Just ignore the problem ok? It may be really annoying right about now. But you'll learn the biggest problems are not worth to fuss about.

True Christians aren't supposed to be like that. Most Christians I know are really calm people (including myself), and we should have a high tolerance level for the things of this world. It's our job to make the world a better place, but we shouldn't go overboard to do it and we shouldn't complain either.

Also, we shouldn't freak out about little things like using fire in a game. Video games are just games and they shouldn't be meant to take literally. That's why people get upset that others blame shooting games for things like school shootings. Shooting games were meant to be something to do just for fun, not to make you shoot others in real life.

Overzealous Christians are the reasons why we Christians are often looked down upon. There are so many false Christians out there that it's becoming harder to tell how true Christians should be. True Christians aren't just people who say they believe in God, they're people who follow Him as well. It gives Christians a bad name when you say you are one but your actions don't match up with what Jesus, Paul, and others preach about in the Bible.

Those kind of people aren't true Christians like others stated before me. Christians are followers and believers in God, our Lord.

Video games are meant to be fun and they really are if you ask me. Video games have nothing to do with our religion at all. I don't really understand why those people relate those two completely different things.
