If you never heard of any of the music from the hit new game Galak-Z: The Dimensional, then you are missing out on a lot. The game had been released on PS4 earlier in the summer and is still waiting to be released for PC and has quite possibly one of the best video game soundtracks of 2015. The soundtrack is by scntfc, short for Scientific (American) and all the songs add some sort of an electric feel to the new game and the soundtrack contains 16 songs, all of which are found on their bandcamp page.

#1: The Dimensional (Fighter Version)
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/the-dimensional-fighter-version

The song begins with some sort of a futuristic feeling and then throws you into a mix of electric and retro madness which lasts for about 3 minutes.

#2: White Tusk
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/white-tusk

This is what a retro game needs to sound like, it's the kind of music that you dance to, and all the various instruments work together flawlessly to make the song feel crisp and energetic.

#3: Dark Systems
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/dark-systems

This song starts off really slow and doesn't really change much throughout its four minutes until you're about 75% done with it when it has a moment where it sounds like something you would find in a dubstep song. This isn't the kind of song you would want to straight up listen to, but would make some great background music.

#4: Superluminal Wavelength (A-Tak's 8-track)
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/superluminal-wavelength-a-taks-8-track

This one doesn't exactly feel real, as when the song first begins it sounds like someone was just putting together random music pieces together on their laptop, but it ends with an amazing electric vibe.

#5: USS Axelios
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/uss-axelios

This is one of the longest songs of the game at about 6 minutes and for the first minute, it starts off slowly before opening up to something that sounds like it could be a cross between a video game and The Lord of the Rings for a few seconds.

#6: Into Battle (Fighter Version)
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/into-battle-fighter-version

This song is very slow and constantly changes its rhythm until about half way through where it starts picking up steam. Not really worth listening to it for the entire thing, but bits and pieces.

#7: Celestial Scrapyard (A-Tak's 8-track)
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/celestial-scrapyard-a-taks-8-track

This song starts off a bit Synthetic and speeds up with its energetic mood but is repetitive and is short.

#8: Into The Breach
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/into-the-breach

This piece is very short, just 10 seconds, but is full of energy. Had an entire song been composed using this 10 second set, it could have easily been one of the most electric songs in the soundtrack.

#9: Abyssal Zoetropolis
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/abyssal-zoetropolis

When the song first begins playing, you are under the impression that something big is about to go down because of the tone that it set. When it comes to the song though, the rest of the song doesn't really match up to the first few seconds in excitement as the mood seems to lighten up after that. There are also a few gaps where there's no music at all.

#10: Arise, Marble Zodiac
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/arise-marble-zodiac

Within the first 10 seconds of hearing this song, you may already be hooked because it begins with a crisp and cool tune, and it does not stop. The strength of the tune, which is a mix between Rock and 8 bit continues to grow as the minutes go by and leaves a strong impression. Easily one of the best of the soundtrack.

#11: The Void Raiders
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/the-void-raiders

It's another one of those songs that start off like you would hear them in some epic blockbuster movie, or maybe even a horror movie because it's very good at giving off a sense of dread.

#12: The Turnabout Patrol (A-Tak's 8-track)
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/the-turnabout-patrol-a-taks-8-track

Another electric and energetic song that you can find yourself dancing to. Fast paced and fun to listen to, even when you aren't playing the game. Another great part of the soundtrack.

#13: The Alcazar Gambit
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/the-alcazar-gambit

This starts off as a slow song and stays that way for most of the time before becoming a fast paced tune, but only after 3 minutes have passed. If you're just listening to the music, I'd recomend fast forwarding half way through.

#14: Into Battle (Mech Version)
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/into-battle-mech-version

This song isn't all that great, it's just slightly different than the Fighter Version and I wouldn't say that it's as good. The instruments used just seem to give off a bland vibe.

#15: The Dimensional (Mech Version)
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/the-dimensional-mech-version

Just like the song before this, the Mech versions of songs just aren't as good as their Fighter counterparts. The song itself is almost three times as long and there are only a few short pieces that are worth listening to.

#16: Kurokawa Entertainment Network
http://scntfc.bandcamp.com/track/kurokawa-entertainment-network

Now this is an energetic song even though it sounds as if it came right out of an 80's movie. It's only a minute long but it's a catchy song that you might find yourself dancing to.

--------------------

Normally when I listen to a soundtrack thats from a movie or game, I find a few songs, like 3 or 4 that are awesome while the rest are average, but that's not the case here. In this soundtrack, as long as you like 8 bit, or retro music, you could end up liking almost all of the songs, because they all feel good, and about half of them are amazing.

Wow, this is an unusual soundtrack for such a modern game. It does have a retro feel, but fortunately sound has evolved and does not nearly sound like the primitive synth of the 80s.

As for your review it was an excellent one. You kept your description straight to the point and does not get lost into details. Suggestion for your next review: try to say where in the game you can hear the track. Sometimes it is not obvious what it is (like Judgment Day in Final Fantasy VII; it does not say Final Dungeon).
