Before it became this channel without any originality, Canal Famille (family channel) had all sorts of great cartoons translated to French. Many of them were actually Japanese like Petit Castor, Maya l'abeille, Démétan, etc. There was also Inspector Gadget, the Racoons, Danger Mouse and many others. There were also educational shows that were decent; however I was around Grade 3 where they started appearing so I did not pay much attention to them - but my brother loved them.

Radio-Canada (the French CBC) also had good educational shows, but also very good cartoons. They were also Japanese for the most part and inspired from literary classics like the Three Musketeers, Alice in Wonderland, Anne of the Green Gables... Because it was in French we also had cartoons from France like Marsupilami and Boule et Bill. They also had good children's show like Les Intrépides (teenagers helping solving crime) and Les Débrouillards (scientific simplification).

Radio / Télé-Québec (the provincial CBC) also had excellent TV shows. Since Sesame Street did not get adapted, we instead had Passe-Partout, which is pretty similar in its aims. There was not the same focus on puppets, which I think is great. The humans acted well, and the main story teller (Grand-mère) has been telling story since public TV started in Canada. She is a natural.

Nowadays... I can not say I cherish any channel. I stream everything and only go by the shows rather than the channel.

I honestly don't really watch TV anymore. The only time I'm actually watching TV is football during football season. So I guess in that case I would have a couple favorite channels that include ESPN, CBS, ABC, FOX, and NBC. Although I do watch Game of Thrones on HBO whenever the new seasons come out.

Most of the time nowadays I'm either watching my shows on Netflix or Hulu. I also listen to the local sports radio station here a lot. TV watching has really diminished for me in the last 5 years.

I would say the old G4 network. They all kinds of cool shows and was fun to watch. But they got lazy, bought reruns, and now I think Bravo owns them. I mean Attack of the Show,X-Play,The Screen Savers.

Even though my cable provider made things so expensive for my family and I barely have any channels, my favorite one is Cartoon Network. I enjoy watching most of the shows I've seen on it, especially Teen Titans Go. Also, I like cartoons in general so it's a really nice channel for me

Honestly, I'd probably have to say that NBC is my favorite channel because it has most of my favorite shows on it (The Blacklist, Grimm, Blindspot) and of course Football Night in America is great to watch right before the Sunday Night game. I also like CBS, but I'd still say NBC's my favorite.

PacmanandMariofan : Now that you mention it... In Canada Teletoon was a good channel too, with lots of classical (Bugs Bunny), modern (the SImpsons) and other interesting cartoons like Ned's Newt. I guess I can add that to the list

Right now I don't really have a favorite one because I usually online instead of watching TV however in the past my favorite was WB/CW/PIX. This channel had all the best shows, like Saturday morning it had a bunch of cartoons for like 3 hours and some more every weekday afternoon for 2 hours. It also had some of my favorite sitcoms and dramas like According to Jim, Friends, Everyone Loves Raymond, Smallville, and Supernatural. Plus on top of that it was one of the dew channels where I could watch baseball.

Sci-Fi channel, Fox Sports, CBS Sports, ESPN, and Discovery channel.

I also like Animal plannet and the History channel, but I don't really watch them as much. I know you're looking and laughing that Sci-Fi is a channel I enjoy, but hey - I'm a nerd. Not much else I can say about that haha!

When I take into account longevity, I guess I would have to go with the good old USA Network. I've been watching it for 30 years. There's always some program on it I watch. And they always have wrestling. Other favorites come and go.

Lets see....cartoon network, boomerang, toon Disney back when all of the cool stuff was on, fox kids, jetix, old school Disney channel. Old school toonami and Nickelodeon. Those are the past ones. Present would be food network channel and educational shows and that's it. I miss the old days, but all you can do is treasure them. Or you can try and find a way to watch them again on the Internet which I do. Things change and you have to adapt to them weather you like it or not. :/

Fox is my current favorite Channel. I enjoy watching the current cartoon line up like The Sampson's, American Dad, Family Guy and Bob's Burger. I also enjoyed watching Married with Children from the 80's and 90's.

I have never watched much TV, not even when I was a kid. Also, up until recently I didn't have access to a ton of channels, so there wasn't much to watch.

From the past, it's hard to say. The old 3XL was awesome, with all the animated shows a kid could dream off, but that's pretty much all, everything else were just local channels that offered nearly nothing special.

Nowadays, Eurosport is my most watched channel, I'm into a ton of sports thanks to them. I also like the MotoGP channel, motorcycle races are spectacular, and even more when they rescue old diamonds from the 90s. I should also mention the Formula 1 channel, they also rescue diamonds now and then, and they are absolutely delightful.

About non-sports channels, I hardly watch any of them, but one channel need special mention: La 1, our main local channel (spell it as "The One" or "The First", both are equally good). A few years ago, they got rid of all the advertising, either during programs/movies or at the end of them. Something that needs an applause in a land where some channels offer pauses of over 6 minutes in the middle of a movie (such channels have been imposed several fines lately for that, but still they don't learn).

I have a few channels I like to watch.  TruTV for The Carbonaro Effect and Impractical Jokers.  If you like a good laugh, both are well suited for that.  I used to like Cartoon Network because they had toonami.  That's where I first started watching anime like 20 years ago...hahaha, I'm old.
They did have a decent line up recently with Family Guy and some pretty funny shows like Robot Chicken and Metalocalypse, but then they started putting in some pretty stupid things like Tim and Eric and I haven't watched it since.  I watch the weather channel every morning since I work out side every day, so I like to know what I am stepping out of the door into.  The game show channel is always great for those old and new shows.  I like to watch Family Feud with Steve Harvey.  The Food Network for many reasons.  I like to cook and try new creations, and I also like it when they show things like Chopped, Good Eats with Alton Brown, or Iron Chef.  I love Iron Chef.  There are other that I can't think of the names to, like whoever show Ninja Warrior or American Ninja Warrior.  I love that show too, but mostly I work so I don't watch much tv unless I have the day off.
