So, earlier this year I went to London with my family, where we tried fish and chips and some candy bars that wasn't available here in Sweden. Something I realized when I was there, was that the chocolate didn't get close to tasting as good as ours (The one I tried was Hershey's milk chocolate). In Sweden we got a different brand called Marabou, which in my opinion, makes the best chocolate I know!

The reason I made this thread is to ask you guys, if you got a brand of candy, food or similar, in your country that you would like other people to try or know about! If you find foreign brand in this thread (like the chocolate bar I mentioned) that you've seen or tried out, feel free to tell us your opinion or experience of it! 

This could be a good way to figure out how big your favorite brand is internationally, or to find new brands that you might be interested in testing. You can of course write about something you've tried, even if it haven't been mentioned by someone!

Although I have to admit that Little Debby makes better pastries, Vachon is still one of my favorite when I want to eat sweets (not often, fortunately!) I remember their Jos Louis ads, when The little cake would take on screen and make all these puns.

janus : Those looks really good! Too bad the only exporter I could find had a 5 - 7 weeks estimated shipping time to Europe, and I'm not sure how long these lasts before turning bad. I'm also a bit skeptical if they'll look as good after being sent through every mail service in Europe!

The American version of the Milky Way candy bar is one of my favorite candy bars. It's similar to the 3 Musketeers bar, but it has chocolate, nougat, and caramel. If you like a really big load of candy flavor I recommend Milky Way! 3 Musketeers is one of my favorites as well, since it's very similar

catamandoo : Never mind the freshness (besides pastries usually have some preservatives); think of the price! Europe has much harsher restrictions on agricultural imports.

PacmanandMariofan : I thought both were actually different? If I remember well, 3 Musketeers has either nuts or peanut butter whereas MIlky Way is "plain" (i.e. no exotic additions).

however they cost too much money in the Mexico country and 90% of income comes from the usa. The only time you can even buy it is from someone else.

PacmanandMariofan : The Milky way we got in Sweden is pretty much what you call 3 Musketeers, and yours Milky Way is replaced by Mars. Can't confirm if they taste the same, but I sure love Mars bars.

That's interesting. Mars is the company that made 3 Musketeers and Milky Way, so there being an official Mars bar is pretty weird. That's something that I'm sure we Americans don't have unless they're new.

The American version was pretty much the American Milky Way, but with almonds. It has now been discontinued since 2002, if you don't count the small window where it was relaunched in 2010 and then discontinued again in 2011, so it's not odd that you haven't heard about it. After it was discontinued for the first time, they started to sell a Snickers variation branded Snickers almond bar which is supposed to have been a bit similar. This one was also discontinued in 2009.

The reason why our Mars bar is almost identical to yours Milky Way bar, is because the founder of Mars corporation's son rented a factory in England, where he modelled the Mars bar after his father's Milky Way bar.

I had no idea it used to have almonds! I like chocolate candy better without nuts (that's why I didn't mention Snickers as one of my favorite brands). I'm glad that it doesn't have almonds anymore.

PacmanandMariofan : It is a shame . Unless it is dark chocolate (70 to 90 percent cocoa), I usually prefer chocolate bar with nuts in them. I do not like caramel however; it is too hard to chew on.
