Sorry if this is in the wrong forum or something like that, This was the only place that I saw was Appropiate to make this.
Long story short: I was looking for a good pc gamepad.
I did consider the Xbox 360 one, but however it costs 30 bucks for just one of them, not to mention the D-Pad is terrible on that thing. So I went looking for another, while I normally don't check other 3rd party controllers. This one caught my eye, and it was around 19 bucks that I could afford.
Ergonomics 9/10 The controller feels as a mixture of a Playstation and Xbox controller.
The default layout is similar to that of the Playstation, but it has button designs and triggers that resemble the Xbox 360. This maybe just because of my hand size, but I found that the Logitech f310 was more comfortable for me to hold than an Xbox 360 controller.
The controller also has a mode button, as well as two sets of drivers that can be used. The mode button switches input between the D-Pad and Left Analog Stick useful for games that support one or the other.
The only bad thing I found was the controller feels more plastic and cheap than textured, but for 20 bucks what can you expect?
D-Pad: 8/10
Pros: The D-Pad offers a great clicky feel, like it's comparable to the Sega genesis controller were they have those little pieces of plastic in-between each direction making it feel smooth and easy to control. I've used it quite a bit in games like Soul caliber, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and Tekken 3. Works very well
Cons: The only downside of the d-pad is I found it to be a little bit loose, but it's night and day better than the 360's D-pad.
Analog sticks 10/10:
The analog sticks are great, respond very well, and they have a good amount of resistance to them. It doesn't feel filmsy at all.
Triggers/bumpers: 10/10
The triggers are great and respond to the gentlest push. The trigger buttons are also quite resistant too, more-so than the 360 controllers.
The Bumpers work about the same, giving a nice clicky feel and respond very well.
The buttons: 8/10:
The buttons may look the same, but they aren't exactly the same as a 360 controller. They feel better for me in some cases, as the 360 controllers buttons for me feel stiff and hallow. These have a nice Tactile click to them and again respond really well.
The verdict and things to consider:
The Analog sticks are great, but I've heard rumors on the internet that they have a 20% deadzone.
This is a wired gamepad, the Logitech f710 is wireless and costs about 20 bucks more if you need that option.
You can use this gamepad on PS3 if you switch the drivers on the back to "D". It will work for most ps3 games, just not the ones that make use of Sixaxis.
It works great enough for the price, you actually will get a lot for this budgety type gamepad. 9.5 out of 10
