Yesterday (today in Serbia), my aunt gave birth to a girl! Her name is Zoja, and she's my aunts second child after a boy, Vid. That now means both she and her sister, my mom, have two kids, a boy and a girl and both instances the kids were born five years apart. Huh.
Anyways, this development is quite the coincidence. In four days I'll be heading across the pond to Serbia! Some of you know my folks moved away from there many years ago, but we've gone back every other year since 2001. Thus I'm intimately familiar with the land and culture and know how to handle myself. For the record, the only thing that may be of slight concern is that most Serbians have a crush on Russia, if that concerns you.
Such a trip will extend into most of August. I'll stay on the site for most of that time: First I'll stay at my dad's mom's apartment which is close to many landmarks and has high speed Internet for rest (my dad's a software engineer- not having such an amenity at each of the family's estates is nothing short of a disgrace). I'll also head to my uncles cottage, which has a big pool and a sweet vista (disclaimer, there's some opium growing nearby). Finally I'll stay at my mom's mom's apartment. It's close to the town center with loads to see and do. The apartment doesn't have Internet, but this is where I learned stealing your neighbours unprotected WiFi was a thing so it shouldn't be an issue.
I look forward to the experience! Every time I went to Serbia it was always a blast.
