Hi guys, noahs_brother here with a little special story i wrote for school. it passed, and i was wondering if you guys would like it. yeah, it's small, but i tried really hard and hope you will like it. i'm hoping to be a good writer.
THE DIAMOND A fictional narrative by noahs_brother It was a cold, dark night. 1:00 A.M. to be exact. Seth Dunsky was preparing for his major break- in at Liberty Bank.
The bank was heavily guarded; with dangerous big red lasers, that if tripped could set off the loud, loud alarm. Then his cover would be blown. His plan was to sneak in the vents in the back of the building; the vents led to the main reception of the bank. Once he was there, it was easy. He just needed to knock out the one guard there, and he had miniature mirrors to reflect the lasers. In the bank, (as with all banks,) there was a vault. Inside the vault, there was millions of dollars in cash. But that’s not what he was there for. Mainly, he was there for the Akbar Shah, the single most expensive and large diamond in the world. If he got away with that, he was set for life.
Seth had been poor for all 25 years of his life. Poverty-struck, it was like out of all those sob stories. But, this was real. He had worn rags all his life, barely being able to afford small morsels to eat. At age 10, his parents died, and Seth was left to fend for himself. Developing street smarts, he managed to make do, stealing everything he could. From that day forward though, he vowed that one day he would be rich. This was that day. Make or break time.
Spence Knoll made his rounds through Liberty Bank. He was incredibly tired, but as his workaholic father always said, “work is before sleep.” His father died when he was 15, leaving him to help his mother, wheelchair-bound and paralyzed from the waist down. Those times were hard, but he always had just enough money from his work cutting logs to help him and his mother live. That was 25 years ago.
Now he had a job at the Liberty bank, and he made pretty good money. He made $20 an hour. But the catch was this bank housed the largest diamond in the world. He had to be especially cautious. Seth Dunsky
pulled the grate off the vent in the back of the bank, cutting his finger in the process. “Crap”, he thought, “what if they notice the blood when they notice the diamond is gone?” But he didn’t worry that much about it, because this was the biggest night of his life. He climbed into the vent and started crawling.
After about 10 minutes of crawling, he saw an opening. He reached the end of the vent, and pulled the grate off, this time being especially careful not to cut his finger. Those grates were sharp, after all. He fell out of the end of the vent, not noticing how high up it was. BAM! He landed on the ground in a heap.
Spence Knoll was making his rounds, when he heard a sound. He sneakily snuck over to where it was, finding a man dressed in all black. “You’re coming with me!” said Spence, not noting that the man was incredibly fast. Seth got up, and started running as fast as he could, getting a good fifty feet before tripping over a stanchion and falling flat on his face. He was not the most agile. Spence caught up to him, pulled out his taser, and stunned him. BZZT! It knocked Seth out cold. Spence grabbed Seth by the leg and dragged him off into the holding cells. “I’ve called the police. They should be on their way soon.” Says Spence to the man dressed in completely black. “You know, crime doesn’t pay. Hard work does.”
