I've been creating a few threads lately about awesome things going on, and this one will top them all! In the past week, so much change has happened and there have been many miracles and even a breakthrough happening!

It's been a while since I got to say anything about any of my friends, and anyone who has read my previous friend threads would be very interested in this I talk about my best friend here. Some of it may not seem like it, but everything I mention here is about my best friendand I being just friends, OK? XD

The beginning of this incredible period of my life was last weekend, which you can read about here! (warning: is based on Christianity)

To sum it up, I went to a winter retreat with my youth group, made new friends, and it changed my life!

I was happy enough and thought my life would be back to the usual way, but that was just the beginning. After that, I invited my best friend to that youth group on this Monday night, and she was able to go! One of my other friends was there as well, which I had no idea about until he shouted my name XD We had free Chipotle burritos there and had a great time chatting with each other a lot!

Again, I thought this time of happiness and many social opportunities was over, but it wasn't. School got canceled yesterday, which at first my best friend and I were very sad about, especially because of the fact that every Tuesday, if we have school, we can go to school earlier (my best friends can't on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays because they have practice for the school's drill team an hour before school starts). We can also chat with multiple friends for like 20 minutes on Tuesdays!

But then I found out that it was National Pancake Day and IHOP was serving free pancakes. That changed everything. I knew my best friend would like it, so I told her about it, and we were there with my mom for lunch.

Just like I typically would with any of my friends, we talked about random stuff, and I found out she likes Pac-Man! Now I know most of my friends in real life like Pac-Man I'm proud of my very odd video game interests, and that I don't like all the popular, violent games like Call of Duty. It's my call of duty to stay away from that kind of games

After that was over, I started to think my life was going to change drastically. Today has proven that to be true. I'm having a breakthrough.

Today was my first day of my last trimester of my 9th grade year. I thought it would be like the other trimesters of this school year. Whoa, was I wrong. My schedule had gotten switched, and that's one of the best things that's ever happened to me.

I found out that I have plenty of people I know to talk to in every class, and my lunch period!!! This is the first time that's happened since elementary school! Some of them I've been great friends with for a while!

For the first time in over a year, I feel really excited about going to school and being in my classes, and I feel a lot more confident! I'm finally realizing that I'm popular, I just need to have more to say. XD I'm also realizing that despite what it seems, most of my friends are in the same boat as me. We know a lot of people, a lot of people know us, we talk to talk to a lot of people, a lot of people talk to us, but we don't have a ton of great friends. I have like 10 friends in real life, which is a lot, but the great friends I have is more like 6. Some of my friends have revealed that it's the same way for them.

So what's this breakthrough? Despite me being slightly socially awkward at times, and not seeming like I'm popular (even though I am in reality), I finally don't feel left out at school.

NintendoFanKimmy : I knew you'd want to see this thread so bad since you've loved all the other ones I've made about my real life friends, and just my threads in general.

You go to school earlier than you have to!? And you ENJOY it?! Are you a vampire or something? I could never function with that little sleep lol.

I had a similar episode in my life years ago. I know how you feel right now. Switching from being left out by everyone to actually become one of them is a great feeling, to the point that you enjoy going to school just to have more time to be with your friends. 

Take the chance to store this moment in your memory. Nowadays, when me and my friends recall our time on school, we spend more time laughing than talking. This rule of spending more time laughing than talking can even be applied when meeting my past teachers, which reflects how enjoying school can have an important role in the future.

Be sure to not let anything stop you from enjoying every single bit of this moment. I had to deal (and I still have to) with a chronic disease, with some stays at the hospital, but not even that stopped me from having a lot of good memories. Do it for a bright present and an even brighter future.

I had a slightly similar experience only, let's say, last year, around this time? I started making friends all around, making them laugh, and soon by the beginning of this school year, became really popular! I was funny AND smart, and people really enjoyed that. I went from, maybe, 5 friends to like 25 friends. Now, you used the term "great friends", and I basically have about 5 or so. It's amazing. The feeling that you get when people will automatically just turn to you for a spirit lift, where they can laugh with you if they're having a bad day. This popularity has overall increased my self-esteem (that might not be the right term to use), but certainly it feels great!

So, I don't know you that well, Ryan, but, congrats on your breakthrough!

Why would you have to put a warning saying something's based on Christianity, though :O? Sounds to me like "warning: is based on awesomeness" or something xD! 

Eugh sorry if that came off as weird or offensive or something; I don't really know how to act when I'm talking about religion since I'm not that religious, so yeah.

Basically, THAT WAS A COMPLIMENT XD. I like what I know about Christianity and every Christian I know is nice so "awesome" is the word I use for it, I guess

Anyway, I read the thread about it, and congrats; I hope you keep getting closer to God !

As for the WHOAWHAT thing, keep it up, ha, ha! I'm doing pretty well academically myself, as well !

I'M SO HAPPY THAT YOU REALIZED YOU'RE BECOMING POPULAR !!! That's so awesome! I hope I never become popular, because in my school, you have to be a jerk to the ones who get good grades and act clueless about what you learn to be "popular", because otherwise, you're a nerd who has nothing better to do with life ;P. I'm happy where I am, though!

I can be socially awkward, too xD!

Anyway, I hope you keep making new friends and stuff ! Interestingly, I also have six people in real life who I consider great friends, three of them being greenluigi: , notsosuperhero: , and Peachpinkmew: < 3, the last two I'm sure will never see this .

tgags123 : Ugh I didn't think you'd post here. XD I wish I could prove to you that I'm telling the truth.

It seems like we're not just friends because of how different we are from most other people involved in a guy and girl friendship. I don't think it's as common for guys to be close friends with girls as it is for guys to be close friends with other guys, and girls to be close friends with other girls.

I try to talk about my real life friends a lot, and I swear it just so happens that she's my best friend and the person that impacts my life the most. My 2nd best friend is a guy and we're even closer friends, but it's not as good of a friendship. That's because he isn't the social type of person and prefers to be at home playing video games.

I normally don't get a lot of sleep anyway, so it's easy to enjoy going to school earlier I don't like vampires, so it logicates that I'm not one. (Couldn't resist saying logicates even though it isn't a word)

EX Palen : That's how I feel right now. My friends are making me anxious to go to school just because of being able to hang out with them.

Wow, that's inspiring and amazing. Despite your chronic disease you've still had a nice life.

mario102 : My humor (which is appropriate unlike most high schoolers' ) is one of the things that got me to like myself more, and get other people to like me. Same with my generosity and how smart I am. I'm now the go-to person in every class for school supplies, sometimes like I'm a living store XD

You got that right. It really was just based on awesomeness, but the awesomeness had Christianity involved.

Congrats on doing well in school currently! I keep seeing your school threads so what I pulled off with my grades reminded me of you!

In my school, some of the people who are popular are dorks like you said, but there are almost as many popular people who are amazing. My best friend is one of them!

Another thing about popularity in my school is that if you know a certain person and talk to them, or you're even friends with them, that can instantly make you more popular. It hasn't happened to me, but it probably will

I think the only things that make me socially awkward anymore are my habit of looking around a room when I have no one to talk to (which I'm trying to stop) and sometimes having an awkward posture (which I'm close to fixing). Being quiet doesn't, it just makes me shy XD
