Back when I was a lot younger I noticed that not a lot of families I knew had pets. Current times that seems to have changed a lot. Now nearly every person I know has a pet. The most common ones being hamsters, ferrets, dogs, cats, etc..
So here's what I wanna ask of you all :
1. What pets do you have ( and please do tell us a bit about them ) ?
2. What is the most unusual pet you have had or seen that someone you know has ?
3. Are you for or against spay and neutering ?
4. Would you adopt or go to breeder instead if you planned on getting a pet ?

Well, the only pet I have is an apple head Siamese cat. She was found outside our house one time and we just kinda adopted her.

The most unusual pet I've heard of is a Sugar Glider.

I am for spay and neutering. Most people don't really need anymore pets since pets are expensive to take care of. The only reason why you might not spay and?or neuter is when you are an animal breeder.

If I planned on getting a pet I would go to a breeder or a reputable pet store because then my pet won't have unknown diseases that I never knew about.

As of right now I have 2 dogs one is a Pug (which the people we got him from) Call him Pugsley, such a well thought out name right? An the other is a mixed breed that I'm not to sure what is mixed in her, but shes cute lol. Well my pug is a fatty... eats anything (his own poop)
just as long as he can it I'm sure he will and hes really... really lazy all he does is sleep lol but I can't blame him, hes 10 years old
and my other dog is not even a year old her name is oreo. Well, because she looks like an oreo.. she's the crazy one, always
running around playing with toys biting xD but that usual coming from a little pup.

The most unusual pet I've had was a Sugar glider.. and those things are adorable.. her name was Meeka which means Big eyes in Hawaiian
but unfortunately she died.. don't know how, she was happy always fed, but one day when I was going to take her out of her cage I noticed
she had died. It made me sad but they're not cheap to have but it wasn't the money that mattered my family just can't get another cause their expensive

I'm for both honestly cause unless if I'm going to breed I wouldn't do it but if i didn't  I would just because I wouldn't want more pets

I'd go to a breeder because a breeder gives the pets everything they need to not have diseases and it's just easier all around

Well I figured I'd better get in here and answer my own questions in this thread now that I have time to do so. So without further ado :

1. What pets do I currently have? I currently have 2 pitbulls. Both are different colored brindles and I have a male and female of each. Duece ( my male ) is 12 years old and starting to show his age a bit off and on ( not being as active, etc.. ) and Macie ( my female ) who is 2 1/2 years old and a total attention hog and extremely hyper. Plus she is still very naughty and tend to chew on things that she should not.

2.
Craziest pet I have ever had ? That would have to be a bobcat or a great horned owl. Both were animals that were rescued from hunting accidents and for multiple reasons we wound up having to keep them as pets ( although I would say gently handled ) till we could find a rescue or until they died of old age. I grew up out in the country so we have had all kinds of pets : All kinds of snakes ( from grass snakes to rattlesnakes ), a female alligator, skunks, possums, deer, elk, hawks, owls, and much more. Even had a grizzly bear as a pet once but it was not a live in pet and eventually it moved off on its own.

3. Am I for or against spay/neutering ? I am all for it. I mean all you have to do is look in your local animal shelter to see the need for it.

4. Would I go adopt or go to a breeder for a new pet ? I would chose to adopt personally. There are too many pets out there in shelters and rescues that need good homes. Sorry nothing against breeders if you are looking for a pure breed.

I've never really had any strange pets.
Mostly, I had/have cats.
Over the course of my life, I had 4 cats.
Right now, I have 2 cats (Sasha and Deedlit)
My parents liked dogs and we had 3 over the course of my living with them.
Apparently, I had a hamster when I was young, but I don't remember having it.

Do fish count? If so, I had many of those...

Brain-Splattered : I'll try and answer your questions one at a time here.

1. Currently, my wife and I have 6 pets. I know that sounds like a lot, but she absolutely loves animals! Frankly I think 6 is way too much, but I'd rather see her happy anyway. We have 3 cats, 2 dogs, and a guinea pig. Their names ( in order of how a mentioned them ) are Zoey, Pepper, Tiger, Hershey, Teddy, and Peanut. I won't talk about each of our pets, but I will mention my personal favorite, Zoey. I think she's 12 or 13 years old now, and she is still going strong. I love this cat so much that I'm dreading the day when its her time to go. She is always around me when I'm home, whether I'm feeding her or she's on my lap taking a nap.

2. The most unusual pet I've seen is a hedgehog. I remember back in middle school, I was really good friends with this guy. I went over to his house to play a lot, and he had a pet hedgehog, ironically named Sonic. He was very low maintenance and calm, but they require a lot of attention, especially when they're young.

3. Spay or neutering? Honestly, I really don't have an opinion here. However, I do think the "pet population" should be controlled, just like Bob Barker used to say all the time. We just can't let it get out of control.

4. All 6 of our pets have been adopted or breeded, so I guess either one would do good enough for us. In my opinion though, I'd rather go to a breeder. That way, you know exactly where your animal is coming from.

1.) The only pet I have right now is a grey tabby named TJ. He can be a really sweet kitty, but he does have a bit of an attitude. Pet him too much, he'll bite. Walk by him, he'll bite. Look at him...well, you get the idea. But he does have his moments. If you're having a bad day, he'll actually follow you around and sit with you, purring.

2.) The most unusual pet I've had would be...I guess a frog. It was an African drawf frog that I named Freddie. It was back when I was really young and I don't really remember much about owning him. Aside from that, my Mom used to have this huge salt water tank in the rec room. In it, she had all sorts of colourful salt water fish, but the weirdest one was definitely her eel. That thing freaked most people who seen it, right out.

3.) I'm definitely for spaying and neutering.

4.) Usually I adopt whenever I get a new pet. I think the only way I'd ever go to a breeder would be if I was going to get a Savannah.

Brain-Splattered : I used to have a cat named V I can't remember what breed he was also when I was younger I had another cat but I can't remember what it's name is I feel so guilty. Something really sad about both of them was they both ran away and I never saw them again =( I also had some fish but I don't have them anymore. I currently have no pets and I don't think I'll ever own another one. Also I'm not against neutering because what if your pet has babies you don't want because of a neighbor cat? That would be pretty bad so I'm for neutering. To answer your final question I would possibly adopt if I wanted a new pet but at this time I'm not planning on getting another pet.

I have a cat. According to my spouse, Gege is well-behaved but I find her highly hypocritical. She knows she shouldn't lay on the couch, and yet she keeps doing it no matter how many times I spray her.

All my pets are nice

I have two black lab dogs, one gray cat, and one black-and-white rabbit.

My black labs are very energetic (as expected), and they're pretty young. One of them is 5 years old and one of them is 4.

My fat cat is old and lazy, but he's also very happy to be around his family (except my dad) unless he wants alone time. Every day, one of my dogs chases him and the other one sniffs him.

My rabbit is very old and he isn't eating or drinking as much as he used to.

The most unusual pet I've seen is my aunt and uncle's dog Buddy, who is friendly but he doesn't seem happy a lot of the time. His sister is a happy spaz though XD

I support spaying and neutering. All of my pets were.

If I got a pet, I would adopt it. Both of my dogs were adopted.

I like pets, I have had a lot of them pass through me at some point.

I think they should be kept under control population wise as irresponsible breeding is just that.

People should only buy them responsibly and I am moving towards a European model that all pets should be registered and an inspector come round to peoples homes.

Why? Animal abuse can be horrific things and those countries that regulate it have very low incidences of related problems.

I am not in for raising taxes and costs just responsible ownerships.

I am hoping to get a new cat or small dog.

Honestly, I think that this thread is a bit too complicated, but I'll do you what you want.
1. I have a guinea pig, called Bonnie he's super cute and does a work-out every morning No joke! And I have a cat, called Wicky, he can be clumsy at times but he's also very cute.
2. I have seen no unusual pets to be quite honest with you.
3. I dunno what that is.
4. I don't know .

Throughout the ages I have had many animals come and go from my life.
Mainly cats, my mother is the crazy cat lady
But there have also been a variety of others including a ferret, some dogs, mice, rats, rabbits, birds, goldfish, and even a tortoise.

I'm not sure if any of them are "unusual" pets, I'll leave that up to the reader to decide.

Depending on the animal "spaying" is fine, obviously some animals don't need to be but in most cases yes it's better to when it comes to the common domestic animals.

Honestly I haven't had a pet in years and I don't know when I might want one again, but if I was to get one it would depend on the animal as to where I would get it.
A dog or a cat I might get from a shelter if it's young enough, that way I could give a poor lost soul a second chance at life and hopefully undo the damage that was done to it.

I've had only two pets. One cat, one dog. My cat, Patches, I got her when I was 5 years old (ten years ago). Patches was an energetic kitten, let me tell you. She grew old, and then in 2009, (when I was 10) she had been lost. I remember we found her dead body lying on the side of the road, and I cried for her every day. Then, my dog, Skittles, (don't ask ) was a great Great Dane. (see what I did there? ) I got her in 2011, and she was always by my side when I was upset. She was like my best friend at a time where everyone hated me because I was foreign. She would always alert my family by barking if someone was at the door, she would sometimes help us out, she was the greatest pet I had. Then, Skittles was taken by a mysterious man who apparently slaughtered her... and that's where I'm stopping. I'm sorry if I made you cry :I I'm not for or against neutering. I would adopt one, or maybe breed one. I don't know.

I've only had two types of pets.  The first one were fishes and the second was a German Shepard named Tyson.  Sadly, my fish died and my dad gave away the German Shepard after a little over 6 months.

I've only had three pets thus far: Tails the Goldfish, Knuckles the other Goldfish, and Whiskers the Cat.
The two goldfish have long since died by now, but Whiskers is still alive and kicking.
As for unusual pets, I think nearly any type of larger bird, like an Owl or a Hawk is incredibly unusual, since I definitely see them as wild predators.
I'm completely neutral to the idea of spaying or neutering.
I am partial to adopting however. I mean, we took in Whiskers as a stray kitten, and he's pretty much been the best cat I could've asked for.

I used to have a variety fish. Can't remember their names (I had quite a few.)
I remember they were either gold or black, with the only exception being a cleaner fish. (For convenience's sake.) Feeding them wasn't a problem.
I had two hermit crabs, but they were often forgotten about and somewhat neglected. They were still fed and sprayed once a day, they didn't last long though.
And now I have a Siberian Husky --- "Meeka Bella" or Meeka for short. (It means "beautiful Meeka.") She is the cutest dog ever, and ranges from completely lazy to completely active. She's really amazing! (By the way - she has two pure blue eyes.)
As for unusual pets, I heard that some people own skunks, spiders, and snakes. That's (in my opinion) rather disgusting and dangerous. I wouldn't want to live in the same house with those.
Some celebrities with unusual pets:
Mike Tyson, (yes, the boxer) with pigeons.
Reese Witherspoon, donkey.
George Clooney, pig.
Michael Jackson's tiger. (Named "Thriller") He also owned a chimp.
Britney Spears' pet isn't exotic, but she has a Twitter account set up for her puppy.

I'm for spaying/neutering. Would you rather prevent a birth before it happens? (in which nothing technically dies. It isn't an abortion.) Or would you rather have your pet birth about a dozen puppies and than not know what to do with them?
I got my pet from a pet shop (breeders).
This is because last time my family adopted, the cat hated my mom. It tore her leg up and she has scars to this day.
So, we prefer buying from breeders.
