Okay,so animenewsnetwork(ANN)posted in their News section 3 days ago a short article regarding James Cameron's future projectsApparently, the first sequel to Avatar will be delayed until late 2017 since he and his team are writing the scripts for all 3 sequel movies simultaneously(yep, you read it right! 3 sequel movies! )The movie had been slated to open in late 2016.However,Cameron has stated that he plans to start working on the live-action adaptation of Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita(GUNNM)manga in 2017.He also said that he would not start developing Alita until his work on the Avatar sequel films were finished.Cameron is a big fan of the manga(which is another reason why he wants to make the movie)and he was waiting until CGI technology was sufficiently advanced to make a live-action 3D film with effects comparable to Avatar(Man,I am getting excited!)So,the purpose of this thread is for you guys(those of you who are big fans of the series like Cameron)to tell me more about this particular manga series(I never heard of the series before xP)and if Cameron's film adaptation is going to make justice to the manga.

While I like the idea that anime/manga is getting more recognition from Hollywood, I hope it isn't a disaster like the Dragonball movie.
