Good day population of Vizzed!
It's been a long time since I've made a thread to be honest with you guys. I've been inactive for a long time. I have a busy gaming live. I ran a clan, I moderate Likwidgames, and I spend most of my time working and watching anime these days.

Now, before we start. I think this thread is probably going to be moved to game programming. But since this is technically about Pokémon. I choose to post it here.

I have a hack idea that might have been considered by a lot of other people. I'm not a good hacker, I just learned how to modify base stats, moves, day-night time and a little bit more. But still struggling with story, maps, and etc.

My idea is to make a Pokémon hack that is based of the idea of avatar. So, you start off with  a choice of 4 different starters, in 4 different nations. Now you can go to the other nations of course. But the idea is that you can only catch those that belongs to your nation.

fire nation: For the fire nation you can choose between fire Pokémon and electric Pokémon. Also, Dragons might be included. This also includes Pokémon such as houndour, or houndoom with a dark secondary. But it excludes Pokémon's with a secondary fire type.

Earth nation: For earth nation steel Pokémon are allowed. Just like ground, and rock types. Although fighting types are excluding, any ground, rock, steel with a secondary type is allowed.. But any secondary rock,steel, or ground type is excluded.

Water nation: This one is going to have as well as water type, as ice type. Not just that, you might also choose between grass Pokémon. As
long as they have either poison secondary, or water secondary,

Air nation: For air nation it's quite obvious, you're allowed to use any flying type. That includes dragons. Or psychic types. All flying types are included. Bugs in general are excluded

Spirit world: This Pokémon can only be caught in certain areas. This includes all ghost types, and dark types. Including sneasel. But he is excluded in the water nation due it ice secondary.

Commoners nation: this nation includes any non elemental related type such as fighting, normal types, or bug types.  however, you cannot choose this nation to be your starting point. This will include a map with gyms and all non elemental types. This place however is not to  train, all wild Pokémon should be lower leveled.  and first gym should start off with at least lv 20+ Pokémon. The gyms in general are all going to be pretty hard compared to other games. So it's recommendable to train in your own nation.

for the remake of the map. I would need some pretty experienced hackers. Since I want the nations to be separated into different islands. As for the storyline, I like to have the fire nation to be the bad guys. So when you choose the fire nation, you have to travel through all nations and conquer them. ( this means you have to beat all the non fire nation type trainers.
For all other nations, they can fight against any nation, as they're one community. The fire nation is simply a outcast. Even through that, fire nation starts of with stronger Pokémon.

For the map designs I want that all nations have related maps.
water nation should be made out of parts  such as swamps, oceans, and snow. The town and cities should be related to the map part they're in. A snow map part should have a snowy weather with if possible ice looking buildings. For oceans, I like them to be floating on the water. We all know a town in Pokémon r/s/e that floats on water. For swamps, I want it to be raining, tall grass, dark tuned. And forest like.

earth nation should have mountain maps, and desert maps. For the towns, the desert map towns should have a sandstorm, cactus's, and the houses can just be brown. For the mountain parts of the maps. I wish one town to be in a cave, one inside a mountain, and one above a mountain. There are a lot of hacks that can give you ideas for mapping.

for air nation map I like have maps that are hazy, If possible Off the ground. So a sky like map part. And a town that looks like temples. I'm not sure if it's even possible. But in the future, people can send me the ideas.

the fire nation map should have a lot of volcano's, ashes, and lava. Including burned trees. Ofc, there will be a mountain specially for catching dragon types.

Now to make this game a little bit harder, and more Pokémon as well as avatar related, the fire nation will have a special rival. The avatar. This trainer will be build up in different levels. In your first encounter, he will only use flying types. As you encounter him more often, he will eventually have all types. Excluding fighting, normal, or bugs without a flying secondary.  But this includes ghosts, and psychic. But still excludes dark, besides sableye.
for any other nation, they will have a fire type rival. But it's not as easy as to just choose water nation and solo run it with a water type Pokémon. All fire rivals will have Pokémon's that are in advantage against your nation, Or will own fire Pokémon with moves according to your disadvantage. Example: Magmar should probably have thunder punch, typhlosion should probably me able to learn either shock wave, thunder, or thunderbolt. But if you choose earth nation, fire types like blaziken, camerupt, and other Pokémon that can learn as well as steel, ground, or rock type moves. This doesn't include corsala or relicanth because they're not fire types.. Pokémon such as cyndaquils and evolution can learn octazooka. And probably more different fire type Pokémon. So the challenge will remain the same no matter what nation you choose.
For every nation besides the fire nation, they will all end up fighting the "fire lord" having the highest level of fire Pokémon types which will all know counter moves against any nation. For the fire nation, the end battle will be against the avatar. His team will however include kyorge, groundon, and rayquaza. As well as Lugia and ho-oh. Connected to their story of being the creator of the seas ( kyorge) the creator of the earth( groundon) The rules of skies( rayqyaza) Protector of the sea( lugia) And keeper of balance ( ho-oh) < PS kind of just made that up..
So choosing the fire nation can be a extremely difficult task If you plan on finishing the game.
but to make it a bit more interesting for all other nation choosers, all fire nation trainers will be slightly stronger then the other nation trainers. So, if earth, water, and air trainers have lv 24 Pokémon. The fire trainers will have lv 30+ Pokémon. So it will be equal challenge. Ofc, fire nation starts off with a stronger Pokémon, weaker trainers to fight, and probably easiest to play. I'm not planning on making the avatar anything close to "easy".

for all ghost and dark types. I plan to power those up. Since spirits are a lot stronger then just benders in the avatar series. I think ghost and dark should also be stronger.
Because this is a pretty big project. I need a couple of good people who are willing to help me out.. I'm not capable of much. But I can modify mostly anything from Pokémon, to trainers, and from move's power to name. So the ones who will be helping me will get most of the credits after it's done. I'm not sure this idea will even work out. But I always wanted to make a hack with a different twist to it. Not to forget something different. And I think with some help of you guys, this idea could end up as a pretty good game!

If you want to help me, post some background information, a picture of some mapping work. And why you want to help me.
I'm not sure how much people I need. So anyone who is experienced in hacking might react on this thread. And after awhile, I will introduce the people I choosed to cooperate with. Let's hope this is going to be something great! Because I think this idea has a lot of potential!

I can't believe this hasn't been moved or even replied to. You have put an amazing amount of effort into posting this, and I feel that this is a really good idea that could have some success. I myslef dont actually know much about hacking except for maybe coming up with more to the plot, so I wouldn't be able to help outside of that. I am going to move this to the game hack forum and I am going to hope that other people become interested in this because losing out on something like this would be a waste.

Thank you for your response. I was pretty disappointed that no one actually took the effort to even check my forum out.
Most of the views were of my own re reading if I put something wrong in it that would repel people from reading or responding to it.
I haven't been doing hacks for a long time now. But I'm pretty good in typing, move pools and move modifying. And probably mostly these things inside of battles. Like improving Pokémon's and moves etc. Although, I can not add sprites or redesign moves..

I was really looking forward to it when I though of this pretty good idea. I saw a lot of people re posting the Avatar nuzlocke challenge. And I though:"why not making a homemade game designed for these kind of people that like it?". And I started to come up with some basic ideas. And just started to write this post. The whole re-mapping idea I had is the biggest problem with me. I don't know how to add graphics to a game. And I can only Remap standard maps and locations with already in-game material.
The game mode would be set on hardcore. So you really need to raise your Pokémon. Not just in level, but even in stats to be able to fight with enough results. But yea, It's indeed such a waste no one has seen this post yet. Maybe some people will read this after you posted on here. Most of the time threads are unread until some popular guy started to response on it.

I even tried to promote my thread to friends on Vizzed, but no one responded, or checked out this thread. So I was pretty disappointed in that too. That not even my friends could take the effort to read this, while I really did put a lot of effort in this I had to think how to explain everything so people could easily understand it, but wouldn't be bored to read it. I had to come up with a plot/story that would attract more readers, And I had to set some basic rules and features to people would be interested to post on it, or work with me on it.
I'm even willing to give almost every credit away to the people that helped me building this idea into reality.

I hope this thread will get some more attention, and I hope gamers are going to be interested to try this out! Because I know of myself, that I would really excited while I wrote this idea down. And I could totally see myself playing, and enjoying it! Again :Zanderlex Thanks for responding to this. It might even get more popular now!

PS : I'm not really that active anymore on vizzed again. I mainly just check my mail out, and check if people responded to my thread. So it could be, that I won't response right away. I hope other people understand this. I got a busy life, and I lack the time to visit Vizzed on a daily basic.

I sworn that I read this as "Avatar, Four Nations" at first but apparently my mind is playing tricks with me. This should be a very interesting hack especially it has a combination of my two favorites. I am interested to playing this game especially with its purpose and potential that it has.
How long would it take to put everything together for this hack?

I have literally no idea. I'm inexperienced with hacking. And thus need a team of well experienced and skilled hackers and designers to help me build this hack. I only made the main parts. I need someone for spirtes, scripts, mapping etc, etc.. But it's pretty hard to find people these days that want to work on something like this. I though my post had lost interest. But I'm glad to see yet another person to response to it.

The parts I could do are the trainers, moves modifying, stat modifying, and a little bit of mapping. But I can't really do anything besides that.
also, I used to test my own hacks using my phone. But since I got my new phone, I haven't been using any SD card, and haven't been playing any Pokémon games nor have I been hacking at all. If this game could only be a reality, that would make me so happy. To see my ideas being brought to reality I have been bursting with ideas the last years of certain hacks, but no one ever tried to look through it,or help me build one.. I really hope this  hack will have a future, that this hack will eventually end up as a good classified hack. The idea itself is really well though of ( that's t own opinion) and I already gave detailed information on how I want it to look like. If I could just find these people which are willing to make my dream come true.. That would make me really, really grateful.

As for the people that like the idea and wants to try this, please advice people that have experience with  hacking to read this thread. So they are actually reading this idea, and it someday will be produced to a great hack. Because that's all I want to achieve for now on Vizzed. To add a own created game to the RGR..

Yngwie : I'm sorry to say I have no experience at all with hacking. I might try to learn, because it sounds very interesting, but I definitely would not be able to help you with this. I came in here to bump it, mostly for the fact that I would play the game right when it was available . It's an incredibly awesome idea for a game, and I don't know if it's been done yet, but I hope it hasn't. If you and your "team" are able to put this out, I think you guys could become famous as hackers/modders to be honest. I really hope this comes out, but it does sound extremely complicated so I don't know how many people will know this much about hacking. I do hope you find a team soon though, the faster the better. I know there are some hackers around this site that would have most certainly the abilities to make this come true. And I also know that the idea is extremely complicated, And to be honest.. I don't even need to be famous after it. I just want a game of my own idea being played here on Vizzed. I want to give people a taste of my creativity.

I posted this idea long ago, and it's refreshing to see that it finally growing some fruits! I just hoped people responded much earlier..
I only log in into vizzed these days mainly to check out my thread, and for daily vizz. I can't play the RGR on my new laptop since I find it really complicated to get it done on windows 8. Even though it's being explained, I still don't know how it works..

Anyways. I really hope I will find my hackers soon. If it would take to long for this idea to be put in progress, I don't know if I would have the motivation remained to actually work at this..  I guess the reason why this post isn't being read that much, is possibly because it's pretty long. People might lose interest in reading in any further. But I really recommend you guys, to read the thread till the end for a better understanding of what I've wrote. All little helps are welcome, any bit of work that had been done so far is more then appreciated. The only this I wouldn't like, is if some people made this hack being my back. Because if there is something in this world I hate. Then that's betrayal.

Yngwie : I don't think the problem is how long it is... I posted a post that was almost triple the size and people responded xD. It was 3700 words, yet people still wanted to read the whole thing and reply. It was about something completely different than this,  something probably more important than this, but they read the whole thing, which was 3700 words long like I said. I think the problem is that the main hackers on here are just not coming on, or skip past your thread because they don't see it. I really do hope this gets made though . Peace .

Yngwie : I would help you if I could, but I have no experience and Have attempted to hack a Pokémon game but I have found out that I must be the worst Pokémon hacker of all time. So All I can do is wish you luck! 

Yngwie : This is a very, very ambitious idea! It would be fun, but incredibly difficult! Nothings impossible though, so I hope you find the team you need. There's a few things I do have to wonder though - will there be complications involving the base engine? For instance, could the game itself handle four completely different story lines and/or maintain balance across the islands? The idea is awesome, I love the 5th island idea where the rarest Pokémon will reside.

The fire nation sounds like what you would like to be "hard mode." I like that idea! The main thing I see here is what if, say, the water nation trainer travels to the fire nation and is now easily completing the "hard mode" area? Of course, that's not really all too important. The Avatar being your rival of sorts is neat, and I like that. I definitely like your idea of boosting the Genga-- Ghost types. I love Ghost types.

So I say all this to say that I really hope you find some skilled hackers. It'll be tough, but it'd be worth it if it's made. I've personally modded a few Game Boy Color versions of the game, only one of which I felt was complete, but I don't think I could be of assistance as I never touched Game Boy Advance versions or anything above that. I hope you get the team this game needs!

P.S. Make sure Gengar is unbeatable. Okay, maybe that's not good for balance. Make sure he's stronger than all legendary Pokémon though. Haha!

I can answer some of your questions though.

Water trainers OP? N.O. I mentioned in the thread that Fire Pokémon in the Fire nation will probably know counter moves.
For example, Typhlosion would know thunder punch to counter water, and octazooka to counter rock. This is indeed to prevent people for going the "easy" way.

How would you do the revamping of the maps?
Well, not sure. I wish people would see what I see. That's why I wrote a detailed and informative thread about this hack, so it would be visible for others, besides just reading the thread, they would actually see themselves playing the game. At least, that was my goal.

Ghost Pokémon:
Ghost Pokémon would get a major power boost. They might even exceed (some) legendary Pokémon. But then I would mean Mew, jirachi, and celebi for a instance.
Alright, let's say Gengar will get a power up. Then this would be my idea:
HP: 80, Attack: 110, Defence: 80, Special attack: 145, Special defence: 110, Speed: 135.

This thread is nearly a year old now. And I still haven't found anyone that could help me. I also don't really have the time anymore for this project. I'm trying to rebuild PokemonLake, I have to moderate Likwidgames, And I moderate the forum of PokemonLake. So, I have a lot of work right now. And this is just my free time, outside of that, I also have a job, need to cook, E.T.C. So, I don't think I would have enough time working on this hack. I would however appreciate if there are people out there willing to secretly start this project. And on day, I would play it on my own Smart Phone!

who made the very first comment, and an really encouraging one! The reason I still visit Vizzed on a daily basic is to check out if people responded to this thread. The idea I wrote took a lot of time, and I'm saddened that I cannot create this idea because I lack help, and time.

Let's just hope that this idea will eventually be put into action! Because I really believe the hack idea I made could probably win prizes if I had the right people help me!

Sorry to say this, but you're actually not allowed to give up looking for hackers. We just aren't going to allow it haha. I understand about time management. It's hard juggling clans, work, home duties, social time, etc.

I know it may seem like I was being a downer on some parts of that post, and that's not what I wanted it to come off as. I have faith in this, and I think I see what you see. That's why I hope this gets the light that it rightfully deserves. That forum you moderate, maybe someone on there might secretly be a ninja hacker? You never know.

Regarding the water types - yeah I guess I can see how that may help. I still think they'll be pretty darn powerful overall, but that's the whole point. I am curious, have you by chance laid out like a foundation? Say, the Pokémon that will be at each location, what will be on the awesome 5th island/territory area. Will any Pokémon receive buffs/nerfs other than the demi-legendary ghost type? I can tell you enjoy the Avatar, so I'm sure story isn't going to be a problem. The reason I ask all this is, maybe with a solid enough ground work, you can really attract some people.

I am a busy person myself, and I own a clan on RuneScape with quite a few members, so once more I can relate to the time management. So with those questions I must realize that time doesn't exactly give much slack for cool project ideas like this. I'm just really excited and I hope this takes off, because the Avatar is awesome. Combining Pokémon with an idea like that is exactly what the world needs haha!

I'll cut my post here, and I hope to see success. If I notice any Pokémon hacker enthusiasts on any other sites that are looking for a project, they'll be directed here. It's nice to see you haven't given up quite yet!

I'm well aware of that. I wasn't planning on  really giving up. I just don;t think I have the technical insight to make this idea an reality. Even though I will keep and try to bump this, in the hope someone who does have the skills will see it and will be inspired by it. Maybe that one person will make this hack reality. I still think of looking for a team. But it's really hard due my time.

Also, Likwidgames only has one Moderator active at the moment, that's me .. The other three either gave up, or just quit visiting. The owner is busy creating a mobile game.. So, I'm kind of alone xD. I also moderate the forums of PokemonLake (a free form project that started small and ended up to be a big success.) And next to that, I also try to motivate people to play PokemonLake.

PokemonLake is a online browser game that was first launched in 2008. And it was a huge success back then. But the creator pretty much threw in the towel. She didn't have the technical knowledge to keep up with the requests people had. It has been dead for years. And I'm trying to revive it with a couple of others.


Anyways, I also have a Clan under my name.. Also in Runescape .. I pretty much quit playing Runescape on a active basic, because I just don't have nearly enough time to play it. The clan  name is The Truths of Nihil if you're interested in the information. The clan used to be fairly big. 56 players whom 30 were active on a daily basic. But it kind of fell apart when people started to lack time due exams and stuff.

Anyways, The fifth island would probably contain legendary Pokémon. Of course I already planned out to increase their stats. Let's say for instance eh.. Groundon.
HP: 150, Attack: 150, Defence: 180, Special attack: 125, special defence: 110, Speed: 80
eh, and let's do kyogre then.
HP: 150, Attack: 80 Defence: 125, Special Attack: 150, Special defence: 180, Speed: 110.
This is just an example though of how I would power them up I will be sure to choose at least three ghost Pokémon to be equal to legendary Pokémon. I might even decide to take most NONE elemental related legendaries out of the game, because they wouldn't support the story.
Pokémon's like Latios, latias,  Deoxys  Mew and mewtwo might be removed. While legendaries like Groundon, kyogre, Rayquaza, Registeel, Regirock, Regice, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Entei, Suicune, Raikou, Articuno, Moltress, Zapdos and probably a couple of more would be kept in the story. Why? They can all represent a part of the story. As groundon, kyogre, Lugia, Ho-oh can be  the first Pokémon to use the basics of the four elements. While the three birds could be the first Pokémon to have a secondary element ( Zapdos lighting, Articuno ice, and  Moltres could be specialized in heat) For the heat part, I can boost op Heat wave for that one. Anyways, the three dogs could be placed together with the three birds. Regirock and Registeel could be the guardians of let's say, when you're catching Groundon and kyogre, and Regice could be the guardian when you're trying to catch Lugia. Ho-Oh could also have a different place in the story together with Rayquaza, but I haven't really though this through that much to be honest. I hope that kind of gave you an answer about your question that was aimed to the fifth island idea.

The fact that the people that have responded to this until today means it really does attract people The only problem is: I only seem to be attracting  gamers, instead of hackers
Trust me, Water will have a hard time dealing with the fire nation too I haven't created too much material into reality, but I still have a lot of ideas in my head about how to make the game still challenging. Also, being part of the water tribe does also mean that you will have a Electric weakness ( which also belongs to the fire element) So, water really doesn't have that much of a advantage as you would think at first glance xD.

Yngwie : Person this is the second best idea for a hack I have ever seen (the first can't even be made yet so technically yours is the best). I am willing to help you I have a pretty good handle at mapping all I need is the blueprints because my imagination kinda sucks so as a result the maps I make from my imagination are lackluster at best. But if given blueprints I can make beautiful masterpieces. I am also good as a beta tester seriously I have found more bugs than I can count in hacks and even other things I'm literally a glitch/bug magnet. So I hope you take this message into consideration the reason I'm willing to help you is because I love Pokémon and I love Avatar so combining them seems awesome to me. Furthermore If I don't become a mapper I hope you will at least make me a beta tester because I really want to see how this hack will turn out. First off, I want to thank you for your application! I don't think how long, and how far we can make it into this hack! But first need a base hack. As I cannot make a hack myself out of nothing..

About the map part, well.. That's a kind of hard.. I did have enough ideas in my imagination too.. But I wouldn't know how to but them on a blue print. I was hoping the description of the maps would've been enough, but I will think of a way to get this done somehow. Having a mapper is awesome! But I still someone that knows how scripts works. I actually need a lot more then just that. This is basically my first solid idea of a Pokémon hack that I came up with. So, I wouldn't really know what a group of game developers/hackers needs to make a successive game.

I would nearly forget it! Thank-you for the compliment! It took away to write down the whole thing, but I succeeded. The idea was basically created when I was doing nuzlocke challenge only using earth type related Pokémon such as ground, rock, steel and recently watched Avatar the last airbender, and the legend of Korra I was pretty hyped during that time! So, I wrote the whole thing on vizzed, in the hopes I would find some people that could help me out with it.. It took actually pretty long before someone would actually acknowledge this post. Thanks to him, this thread has been bumped several times!   A good game also needs good Beta testers, I could use some Beta testers if it's finished, or half finished. The most important thing of the Beta testers is probably to test the difficulty level of this hack. As my ideas are solid, and would make it a difficult play through. You're never sure how it will end in reality.

The best I could personally do to support the Game is probably resetting all the stats and move sets op Pokémon, and make them completely adaptable to the hack. I'm also little known with mapping, but I'm not nearly good enough to be called a newbie mapper. I need different graphical art to match the Avatar ideas, so that would mean I would need customized mapping resources, which are hardly found though. To come back at the map part for you, Try to read through the map ideas, and try to draw it out for a little. Just literally as how the thread describes it. That might work.

Anyways, Thank you for your response 18mlivingston, your help is more then appreciated! I can't want to get more people to help me/us out with this Hack! Although it might take a lot of time designing and creating it.. I think it might turn into one of the best hacks yet! At least, IF I find the right people to help me out with this. I know this site contains some really talented hackers, that's why I posted my idea on here. So, I really hope these talented hackers will also have a peek on this thread!
