I've been working on a Pokemon project on the Vizzed Minecraft Server for a while now and soon I'll be ready for others to help me out (click here for more info on the Vizzed Minecraft Server). Basically I'm recreating the entire Kanto Region from Pokemon Blue, Red, Fire Red and Leaf Green to scale. The textures & graphics, audio, npc dialogue and map layout will be based on Fire Red and Leaf Green.

The purpose of this Minecraft world will be to allow users to navigate the Kanto Region of Pokemon in a new perspective. Hopefully we'll also be able to add Pokemon to this world later to allow users to catch them and battle them.

I'm working on a resource pack to be used for this server which will replace all of the Minecraft textures with textures based on the GBA Pokemon games. I'll also be replacing most of the sounds and music from Minecraft with the sounds and music from the GBA games. Lastly, I'll be turning every NPC from the game into a Minecraft skin and making them into interactive NPCs on the Minecraft World.

Features
Every Town:
Every town from the game will be in this world.

Every Building:
Every building from the game will be present and will be accessible. The interiors and exteriors of every building will be almost perfect replicas of the game.

Every NPC:
Every NPC character from the game will be here in their original locations and they'll be saying exactly the same things they said in the games.

Updated Audio:
The audio of this world will be based on the games.

Updated Textures:
The textures of this world will be based on the games.

Pokemon:
I'm not sure if it'll be possible for me to make it so you can catch and battle Pokemon but if not, I'll still replace all the mob textures with Pokemon textures.



Want to help out?
This is a massive project that I've been working on alone up until this point but there's no way I could complete it alone this summer without help so I'm looking for some users to help out. Below is a list of positions I have available, please let me know which position (or positions) you're interested and why you're interested. Don't worry about having to put the textures together or the NPC skins together, I'll be handling those things.

Be sure you qualify for each position's requirements and the overall requirements. You can apply for up to 2 positions.

Interior Designer (1-2 needed)
You'll be in charge of putting together the insides of every building within the game.

World Map Designer (1 needed)
I've already made a few of the towns and routes and I plan to finish making the layout and landscaping of the entire world, you'll basically be in charge of finishing up everything else.

Warp Maker (1 needed)
You'll be in charge of creating the warps between the worlds. There are 2 worlds, the Outdoor World and the Indoor World. Every time you go into a building, you enter a warp to the Indoor World and any time you go into a new room within a building, you go to another warp within the Indoor World.
Requirement: You must be willing to learn how to create and edit warps

Audio Editor (1 needed)
You'll be in charge of obtaining all of the sound effects from the game and also replacing the sound effects in Minecraft with those sounds. You'll also be in charge of the music.
Requirement: You must have experience with sound editing programs

NPC Maker (1 needed)
You'll be in charge of creating all of the NPCs and typing up what they say from the game.

Pokemon Editor (1 needed)
This position wont be available right away. You'll be in charge of placing all of the Pokemon in locations they were originally found in based on the games.

Overall Requirements:
-Must already be familiar with the Vizzed Minecraft Server and have invested at least 10 hours on it
-Must be an active user of Vizzed
-Must have at least 10 hours to dedicate to this project each week (if you take on 2 positions, then 20 hours)

The users who help out will have their name placed in the credits of everything regarding this project and will be given admin powers on the Minecraft Server upon completion (to qualify for the admin power, you must be an Elite user or Staff member of Vizzed). There will be other benefits of working on this project but they will be discussed later.

I'll be offering all the resources needed to do all of these positions and you'll also be given Creative powers in the Pokemon worlds. I'll be doing the hiring on Friday, June 27th.

Davideo7 : Wow this is really awesome sounding and I so do want to help the position I would choose would be Interior Designer because I want to help and I have been playing Pokemon since I was 3 it would be a nostalgic and I can picture what material would have to go where inside a building and make it look really close to what it actually looks like in the game. And I have a question about the Pokemon Editor so do we make the actual pokemon and then spawn/create it in that specific area?

Oh wow, this is pretty cool. I would love to see pokemon in there. But the whole region itself is splendid. This must have been very time consuming, great job.

Just a suggestion, you could make it so the people have to install the pixelmon mod, and mess with the mod a little bit to let the right pokemon spawn. Of course, that's just a suggestion. Good luck!

deg2000 : Tell me why you want the position and why you qualify. I'm not sure on the details of the Pokemon Editor to be honest since we'd be using Pixelmon and I'm not familiar with it yet. Keep in mind that it may not be possible to install Pixelmon, that is currently an unknown.

I would like to sign up for the pokemon editor position. I feel it is something I could help with as I have a lot of knowledge about pokemon due to it being my favorite gaming franchise and having invested? around 100s of hours into all of the main series pokemon games as well as a lot of spin offs. This includes Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green And the reason I want to help with this is because I think it's just an all around cool project and I would be delighted to help with something that will improve the server as I spend a lot of time on it especially when it's something regarding Pokemon. And as you might know I spend a lot of time on the server and I've actually been waiting to be able to help with something since I first got to know about it and I feel this is what would best suit me. A question I have though is version exclusives. Basically will version exclusive pokemon from both games be included in an area?

Well, I'd like to help but I'm worried about something. I might be away in August (the first two weeks) with my parents to the other house we have. There's no Internet connection at the moment there so no Internet for two weeks (that sucks, I know but we have priorities). Plus, I'm unsure about what I want to do. I don't want to do something I don't feel like doing. I mean, it's a rough time for me and I have other problems to solve. Hopefully I'll be able to bring some help, once I'll know what I can do.

Zlinqx : The Pokemon from both Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green will be in their areas. The idea is to make it possible to obtain every Pokemon.

Laian : If you were away for 2 weeks then you'd be expected to make up for it the previous weeks or the following weeks. This means that either you do 30 hours before or after or 20 hours before and after that vacation.

Well I still think I can help out just as much because I probably spent even more time on the remakes.

And the changes I meant was if Pokemon from Pokemon Yellow would be included but since it's the pokemon from leaf green and fire red I guess I don't have to ask that question.

Well I might just been a little overqualified for this since I've spent at least 100 hours on this server and will be spending in between 5-10 hours a day unless I actually have something to do in life for the whole day.

World Map Designer - I have been literally talking about applying for this since I knew you were making the map, I think it would be a great experience doing this and feel like I can handle the work. I can also get a understanding of what the whole world looks like knowing I'm pretty familiar with the map kind (Both R/B and FR/LG) instead of it being, lets say, a megaman map which I might not have known anything about.

Warp Maker - I'm interested in trying something new, and as long as you can tell me what to do a long to lines of learning, I'm pretty sure I can pick it up quickly. I also feel like there will be a bit of hard work going into this as well (I cant see it not being hard work in some way for each job, but still). I also don't think as many people would apply for this job because of the fact your not exactly helping as much creating the whole look of the game, just the functions of the game

I Honestly would apply for all of them, but I'm limited to just 2, and these so far were the ones I might enjoy the most.

Besides Pokemon Editor I would also like to apply for Warp Maker. Reason being is because like I previously mentioned I would like to help out in anyway I can and I feel like this is the position that will be least applied to that I would be able to do. While I don't know how to make warps I'm very willing to learn how to do so. It would also mean I would learn something new while helping which is a bonus XD
