An idea I had a while back, basically like the Retro Game Room but filled with TV shows that can be watched on the board (must likely using MegaVideo or any other equally good site). So basically the Retro Toon Room would function exactly the same way as RGR except the Toons would probably be free of Viz.

What would the Retro Roon Room have?
Basically it would contain mostly retro Cartoons from the 80's - 90's (back when cartoons on TV were still good). It would also contain Cartoons based on video games.

A list of possibilities:
- Marvel Cartoons from early 90's (x-men, fantastic four, iron man, hulk, etc)
- Mega Man (first series)
- Sonic (first series)
- GIJoe
- Transformers
- Pokemon
- and basically any cartoon posted in this thread

You guys can also make suggestions as to what we add to the Retro Toon Room.

I might also make a money earning possibility for those interested in helping out by either adding cartoons or adding screenshots and/or info to each individual episode. And I might even make it so that you can earn money each time the episodes you uploaded gets viewed (probably by allowing you to insert your own google adsense ad code to each video you ad) and on top of that, I'd also make it so that you earn a little Viz for each time each episode you uploaded gets viewed also. So basically this will be like a community thing allowing anyone to make a little money and/or Viz.

Sounds pretty cool, can already tell which ones will be the most popular.

Just a quick question, once the first series is done will the next be added, or will the Retro Toon Room only consist of the episodes from the first series.

When you say series, do you mean Season? Hopefully Seasons of any cartoon series will be added in order.

Basically any cartoon that currently is no longer airing would and could be added to the Retro Toon Room (so not sure if Pokemon would be added or not since they're still making episodes).

I think what Eliminator is trying to say is that will you guys only add the first series (IE: Pokemon) or will you add the series after that (IEokemon Diamond).

The first series is probably the ones we'd add first and really it'll be up to whoever is uploading the TV shows.

I also want to point out that Megavideo gives you reward points each time your uploaded videos get viewed so this also helps you get an premium account with Megavideo (though I'm not sure whether I'd force people to use the same Megavideo account or not, just to avoid the possibility of losing videos if someone uploaded videos to their own account and for some reason closed their account, removed the videos or got their account closed).

this is an amazing idea! those cartoons were (and still are) the best and ever since the 90's was over, there hasn't been any good cartoons on TV. (except for danny phantom. but then again., they've cancelled that show too. )

You said Sonic (first series). Is this referring to AoStH or SatAM or Underground? I can probably find all three series' in full somewhere.

SatAM, that's the very first series and that was the best one.

Yeah I'm willing to add those too but first the SatAM series since that was the better series.

uhm... aren't you currently having bandwidth issues just dealing with Vizzed, RGR and Get-Your-Rom? How can you add cartoons to the mix and still manage everything? It just seems like a lot of bandwidth usage.

I like the idea... I volunteered the last time the idea came up (in whatever form it was last time) because I had quite a few cartoons at that time. Not sure what I have laying around anymore...

Actually Vizzed Board wouldn't be hosting the shows, they'd be added to MegaVideo (as mentioned in my 1st post ) and just viewable on Vizzed Board.

Thats an awesome idea. An issue im almost certain youll come across is the video host removing your episodes all the time due to copyright laws. Otherwise you could put them on vizzed board and only allow trusted members to view them?
