What is the best video game you've played that's based off of a TV show?

Mine is South Park: The Stick of Truth. I've played it over 5 times in the last week. Such a great RPG.

Next to that would be The Simpsons: Hit N Run. I love sandbox action games.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is a great game, albeit one with a somewhat steep learning curve, due to it taking place in a 3D environment, instead of 2D or 2.5D, like most fighters.  It's one of my faves of video games based on a TV Series...but I admit I haven't played many fighting games.  The earlier Dragonball Z fighting games are supposed to be the best, with Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 at the top.  I haven't played that yet, though.

On a side note, I've yet to experience Street Fighter IV.  

Megaman Battle Network is one of my favorite series, but the TV show was more of a spinoff of it, it being a spinoff of the Manga.   Yet the plotlines of each diverge heavily from each other, though they do borrow from one another.

Most games based off of TV shows are lame or uninteresting, in my opinion.

Pirates of Dark Water for the Sega Genesis, it is also on the Super Nintendo but the Genesis version is much better. I have never seen that show before (a second of it on Youtube but that don't really count). There are probably more but I can't think of any right now.

The Simpsons Game for the Nintendo DS was a one of my favorite TV show based video games. It was different than the other versions of the game and allowed for DS Download Play with a few of my friends. It was really fun to play the frantic two versus two or free for all matches against each other. The single player was not all that bad either. Even though I feel like it probably was better on the other versions on other platforms, it was still fun to play with my friends on the go.

I haven't played too many video games based off of TV shows, but my favorite is definitely Buffy The Vampire Slayer which came about in 2002. I love that game so much and it's such a blast playing it.

I'm definitely going to agree with you here South Park: Stick Of Truth was amazing. A full scale RPG and hilarious at the same time.

I absolutely love South Park so I love the video game just as much. The RPG aspect is also amazing all by itself which I wouldn't really expect from a TV based game like South Park.

Also surprisingly I'm a huge fan of Simpsons Hit and Run. I loved the free roam driving of it.

The comedic aspect of it also makes it just that much better.

It's story was written by the actual writers of the TV show, so the silly and whacky elements where all there, with all the lovely major and minor characters, the actual voice cast and humour.

I would have chosen the Pokémon games instead, but the Pokémon games aren't really based on the TV show, the TV show is based on the games...

And about my opinion on South Park: The Stick of Truth... it was okay, but as an RPG, it didn't really work that well. It was very easy, and the best items where just too easy to get, so you didn't really work towards anything in the game... They did hit the humour and atmosphere of the TV show right on, though. I love playing Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom, The Movie, and Revenge of the Flying Dutchman. For a video game based on a show I would have to say the Spongebob series was done very well, and even as just a game it was still really good (At least in my opinion).
