Numbness. I'd gotten far too used to the feeling. "Is she waking up yet?" said an angry voice.

"You hit her pretty hard" said a softer voice with a chuckle. I was awake but to on afraid to open my eyes. But I knew I'd have too eventually. "There we go!". I opened my eyes slowly still recovering from the pounding my head took.

"Before you even think about doing anything you're going to answer some questions". I nodded my head out of fear. "What is your name?"

"Tabitha" I replied. He almost looked heartbroken.

"Let me try" said the other boy. He seemed a little easier to talk too. "Do you recognize any of us?". It was hard to believe it somehow I did. Somewhere in my mind I couldn't shake the feeling that I had seen them before. I attempted to lie and softly denied it.

"Uh...no". The other man who seemed almost saddened by my presence turned around.

"She's lying" he said. "She lowers her voice the same way she did". He turned to me and faced me. He was more muscular than the other boy. He also seemed like the world was just taken from him.

"The other will want an update..." said the smaller boy.

"And what do we tell them about Marcus and...her?" He exited the room. It was only me and the boy in the room. The name Marcus made me feel anxious and sad for reasons I couldn't explain.

"Lester" said the boy.

"Huh?"

"My name...Lester" he replied. "No bells?". He begun to exit the room but just before he did he stopped. A tear rolled down his cheek. "Welcome home Tabby".


Awakening 01
