Have you tried to speed run Super Mario Bros. The original 1985? I have. I can only speed run SO many levels such as the first four levels, and the cheep cheep level...and a few others. Super Mario Bros can be tricky to speed run though. Have you guys ever attempted it? There's a lot of people who speed run this game.

PixelBrick : Yeah, I did you that, but kept failed miserably. :/ I tried over and over again until I finally quit for once. But I still will not quit the Tour De Vizzed, haha, lol.
 Speed running that game is hard as heck.

PixelBrick : oh, I wish. I can't use Game Genie codes. The emulator that I used to use that has them is blocked by my computer security.

I have tried but this game is too tough to do in one go without dying. The original could be the hardest official Super Mario game before Super Mario Bros 3, I can last until world 5. Getting to world 4 is pretty easy because of all of the level warps, luckily you can skip to world 4 on the second level of the game. I am really quick on the very first level. I was actually trying to beat my record today. I am not that far off from the world record because I can almost just sprint and jump through the whole level smoothly. 
Super Mario World is my strong Mario game, I can last on one life up until the forest of illusion unless I take on star road!! I have never tried a full speedrun, but I first completed it under 2 hours.

I have not really because I cannot get past the first world really. I know this is embarrassing. I think it was just to hard for me because whenever I tried to stop Mario from moving he moved a bit more forward.

Once, I have. SMB1 is an incredibly tough game to speed run, but the game itself is somewhat easy. That's why I don't speed run, I like making precise movements, with thinking.

Well I have the first game on my 3ds since I got on the eshop.
But I haven't tried speed running it except maybe the 1st level when I'm bored.
I wouldn't be able to speed run the entire game since I would keep dying all the time (I know the ds version has save states but it feels like cheating).

PixelBrick : yea! i beat it in like 10 minutes theres a pipe in 1-2 that take you to wold 4 , and world 4-2 has a double secret that gets you to world 8 i beat the game so fast it was rediculess

I have been able to speed run the original Super Mario Bros. In about 40 minutes going through every level, and not using any warp pipes to other worlds, but I do use shortcut pipes in the levels, and they make the level easier.

I have beaten this game many many times and using both warps I'm sure it takes me less than 10 min easily, but I have never actually tried for a my fastest speed.  Sometimes I play through every level and even that doesn't take 30 min.  I think I have just played it so many times that I can quickly go through it but I wouldn't call it a speed run cuz I wasn't actually just trying for the best time I could get, just goofing off.

Have tried doing it countless times about at least 1 year ago. I can't really do 8-4 without power ups, and I'm easily capable of doing speedrun glitches, like using a pipe in 4-2 while doing the camera bump trick to get the vine entrance warp skipping the cutscene, but if I could get a good quick run, it would be like 7:00 or 7:15 in best scenario because I can't beat 8-4 without any powerups, especially without a flower. The underwater section is evil trying to take your powerup away. The reason why 7:00 would be that I need to be careful in 8-3 with the hammer brothers to get the powerup blocks. I can't really get a full speed pirahna jump sequence in 1-2, let alone 3 times. Like in my cancelled Super Mario Bros DX warpless TAS, I can't really even do it there because the GBC collision has been improved so the trick can't really be done as fast as the NES.

In short, I have tried. Can't do a no-death run though. 8-2 to 8-4 explain it.
8-2: Lakitu
8-3: Need powerups to easily get past the hammer brothers after.
8-4: Underwater and ending sections.
