Ok so I've been searching around for a solution to the problem I'm having with my Wii U, and I can't seem to find the answer.

I started attending college as a freshman about a month ago, and the internet in my dorm is protected. Normally this would not be a problem, but the thing is, when connecting to a wireless router, a box pops up on my laptop telling me to enter my school username and password. Then the device will be registered with the school. The problem with the Wii U is that it requires a connection test before it can access the browser, and the way the system is set up, I can only type in a security key, not a username and password. So basically Wi-Fi only works on laptops, iPods, etc. They do have a special way of registering your Xbox 360 from your laptop, but not any other video game consoles. There is an ethernet port in my room, and I'm wondering if that would allow me to connect. Another problem is that the Wii U doesn't have an ethernet port, so I'm forced to buy a USB/ethernet adapter. I don't wanna buy one if it doesn't work. Is anyone else in a similar situation? Any ideas how to fix this?

Sidewinder : Thanks, looking around that page was helpful. I found out that I needed to get my MAC address, and register it with my school. So now I can use the internet, but only with a wired connection, now all I need to do is get an ethernet/usb adapter.

The easiest solution to me would be to pull the Mac from your unit and then use the Ethernet Cable that you said was available. If that doesn't work, I would contact Nintendo Directly.

Sorry that we couldn't have been further assistance.
