Well a lot of reviews that I have made have been over 1000 words, and I noticed that when I just submit them in like 1 minute, I get replies saying reviews are awesome, and great. I will not lie to you. Most reviews I read but I don't fully read them all. I would read them for like 5 minute, and quit then reply to it. Well some reviews I made back them were over 1000 words, and they get really quick replies in under 1 minutes. Well I wonder to myself, how in the world do I get replies to something that hasn't evan been out a full 1 minute and 30 seconds. Well I just wanted to know. Do you read game reviews, or do you just reply . No shame in being scared just tell the honest truth please. I did now how about the rest of you guys.

linkmaster99 : Hello! I do indeed read reviews. I skim over them looking for good details and descriptions and refer to them in my response. I then skim over it again looking for errors and mistakes that can be worked on. If there's not much detail I will let you know in my reply to your review. If there's many mistakes I will also let you know. 

So yes, I do read reviews before replying.

If I am actually going to respond to the review, I make sure to go over the entire review first. I made the mistake of not doing that before a long time ago, so I make sure to read it word-for-word. Sometimes I go over it twice if I want to post some constructive criticism. Plus, responding to half the review is not fair to the reviewer. But I also make sure to rate the reviews. Nobody seems to remember to do that.

Well, it depends honestly, if it is a good detailed lengthy review than I don't have to read all of it to reply and say that it is good and I will read the beginning part. You can really tell if effort is put in just by reading the first part of a review, you really don't have to read all of it, there is no shame in doing it though.


On the other hand I will read all of a short spammy post that is in the review section and I will reply telling them to write more and add more detail so it reaches the word requirement. Other than that I will skim through and I can tell if it is a good or bad review just by reading part of this. I was wondering the same thing because people start replying to my reviews in like 5 seconds and I wonder why. Nice thread by the way!

Most of the time I read every word but if I am in a hurry or don't feel like it I will skim. If it is a really short review or I really get into it or like the game I will read it carefully.

Actually I read reviews about games before actually playing the game itself. I really don't like playing games without knowing what's about them.

I tend to skim through them, to be honest. If they are my friend's reviews, and I know they are good at writing reviews, then I will actually read it, instead of just skimming it. I make sure to skim it so I can make a legit post, instead of just spamming it up. 

It depends on the size of the game review. If the review is really huge, like over 1000 words, I'll skim through it but if a review is somewhat short, like 500 words, I'll read the whole review and reply to it.

I often wonder about any response I get on any post.
I have stated before that I equate most of it to "Smosh's What if the internet was real?" video.
I take as much as I can stomach and refuse to read whatever I deem useless.
Some of it is good hints and tricks of the narrative trade known as typed communication.
The rest kinda make a body wonder.

Like when a dude requests over the top spacing to separate topics I comment on.
I had that with the first couple of reviews I made.

Then I got into the habit so much so that every post has that same requested "Rubbish".
Why is it needed to space apart my words and sentences in one sitting?

I figured it had to do with people needing spare time to keep their place with other stuff like "Having a life" kind of stuff. Cooking, News, Changing a Diaper, Phone call, ...etc, etc, etc. You know?
Life.

But...
It is more common with lazy readers. I have a trick around it but it requires printed paper and pen or pencil.
(Just mark every period if you are not certain you have read the stuff. I did this when I was only getting four hours of sleep a day.)
With the computer? You can not employ those same tricks.

About the time response???
I suspect that some are reading while you type it anyway. (I do not know how or why But it would make sense if vanity was an issue with some of the posts.)

I have put in 800 to 1000 words all the time and most skip responding.
But the second I drop the word count to 200 or under people tend to skim it.
When I put less than 150 I can almost promise there will be a response.
Sometimes good.
Sometimes bad.

The oddest response I have had is in the news sections.
I once posted only two sentences in one and got near 100 posts in it and it was closed not long after another came up.

If anything?
I was fairly certain I did not offend anyone with "a request that someone else tell the news".
Makes one wonder about the vanity issue.
The rest?
Yes, it is odd how fast people respond after it is up.
Particularly with reviews and news.
So, I switched to game discussions on games that anyone can complete.
Reviews for hints and tricks on games that few seem to be able to master. Then I ignore all responses to them. If no one likes em they can close em.

But for the News sections?
I have to tread very carefully. Comically .. But Carefully.
Some nut always wants to bring some odd or crazy problem with giving folks the heads up.
I have found the most "Trolls" in there. (A "Troll" is a kind of obsessive person that employs petty "punking" methods. Right? I am aware that anger is associated and irritation is associated. But I am not certain on all the details.)

Barathemos : dude I can definitely say that you don't read any reviews or guides. You post a 10 word response to them within 10 seconds of actually visiting the thread. This clearly illustrates that you're not reading any of them and are just posting for the post count.

Well, sometimes I do read it word by word but to be honest, I sometimes would just skim through it fast. But I still look good enough in the review before replying so that way I could at least know what to reply.

I don't read the reviews or even go in the review forum for that matter, I don't like reading long things anyway and I don't really have a reason to read the reviews honestly.

Not bad ones only good reviews .
