I've played hundreds of games throughout my 21 years of life, and I've found quite a few series I've identified with.  Ultimately, the Megaman Battle Network Series is the one that defined much of my youth and early teenage years.  I still find it satisfying to go head-to-head with Bass's ultimate form and win.

Although the MMBN series has been a staple of my life, the game I identify with the most is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.  I'm a fan of positive messages in video games, and this game is packed with them, while still being plenty of fun.

What's your favorite series?
Also, what game would you say has defined your life the most?

I honestly can't come up with any series, each and every single one of them have proven to be absolutely amazing.

All of these games have their place, and each of them have influenced me in some way or another.

Overall, I'd think I'd have to say Final Fantasy (sorry Mario, Sonic, Zelda, and others...), but I've played Final Fantasy and I've seen people play for HOURS upon HOURS upon MONTHS upon YEARS on end.

To be fair, that series really needs to STOP... Final Fantasy should have ended at like 9 or something... but instead it's going and going and driving people nuts because there is just too much out there. Well, in my opinion at least...

SacraRain : Perhaps you're right, but I think that at least each Final Fantasy might be considered different enough from the past entries to warrant a purchase for most people interested in the series, unlike some games (like FIFA 13 for Wii, which was pretty much a rehash of FIFA 12).  I think EA really needs to get their act together.  Some of their games do have welcome additions, though, like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010 for Wii.  The gameplay is amazing, although their could have been more graphical polish to the package.  To be honest, though, I haven't moved outside the All-Play feature yet.  I like to get an idea of the courses before going all out.

I think my absolute favorite series has to be the Xenosaga series, including Xenogears. It wasn't really the game play that did it for me, although I think by the third game they really had it refined to an intense, strategic system, and I particularly enjoyed the game play elements of Xenogears, especially learning the special moves. I loved the character interactions, and how they tied into Xenogears at points. I will be the first to admit that the stories are convoluted at times, melodramatic at others, and in the case of Xenogears, reached too high and left players with a half finished game. I still can't couldn't think of a more memorable series. Its a shame that the series didn't continue on so that they'd have a chance to connect the two stories instead of just hinting at character relations and cameos.
Honorable mentions:
Final Fantasy. So many different stories under one name. Although I enjoyed many of these games, can they be called a series even though the majority of them have nothing to do with each other?
Phantasy Star: 4 hard games, no walkthroughs available (at least when they first came out)
   Lunar: Cause the stories rock.
.Hack (vol 1 & 2): You're a person, playing a person who is playing an online character. Its Meta, and the stories are interesting

Favorite video game series?  That is a tough call because I like RPGs, Fighting, and Adventure games.  So I thought I should list my favorite series from all 3 genres:

RPG: Final Fantasy.  The game play of each of these games are time consuming, but they make it up with fantastic stories, characters and music.

Fighting: Tekken. Great story, phenomenal characters, masterful game play (old and new), and good music.

Adventure: Sonic.  Music is always awesome, the speed is terrific, and always fun to play (new or old)

Honestly this is a really tough choice between the bio-shock series, legend of Zelda series, and of course the popular Pokemon series but I somehow favor the legend of Zelda series the most.

I have a tie between LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, Bioshock, Resistance, Yakuza and Pokémon. Even though Pokémon has declined in quality, I still love the series as a whole and I still play the older games to this day. Regarding the giant tie, all I can say is that I love quite a few games equally and I really can't decide.

Oh that is so hard to make a choice for... My choices would fall between Shin Megami Tensei, Pokémon, or Digimon so instead I can only really say is That my favorite series is Shin Megami Tensei, Pokémon, and Digimon! I need to have my Nekomata, Eevee, and Renamon.

Final Fantasy was always my favorite series, even though it went really down hill after FF9 in my opinion. None the less, it is still a great series, and sparked my love for RPG games.

My favorite is definitely the Super Mario Series. I loved the series as a whole since I was a kid. I love all the platforming and it's creativity, it makes it feel unique. I still prefer Mario over Sonic.

It's-a Me! Mario!

One game that defined my childhood was Paper Mario.  I rented that game so much from Movie Gallery (back when it still existed), I don't know why I didn't just buy the game.  I guess I thought "it's my parents' money, and if I buy the game, I have to spend my own money" or something like that.  I've come a long way since that sort of thinking.  The game's a total cakewalk now, but it wasn't so easy to me when I was 8.

That is a tough choice. I really like the Mario series, so I might go with that. On the other hand, I also like the Scribblenauts series. I would say the Mario series, since I have loved it for a long time.

I had many, many favorite series, but I'll handpick my Top 3
1.Mother series: They have good stories, and I think there battle music surpasses limits of their console, who expects heavy metal on Porky Minch in Earthbound? And Mother 3 is so......dramatic
2.Ace Attorney series: The battle of wits at inside and outside of courtroom. These games use bunch of knowledge and wits to complete.
3.Sonic series: Kickass musics and splendid story, but it's 3rd because the story usually lacks drama part

I have two favorite game series.
first Pokemon in my childhood it was far of my favorite series I didn't spend only time on the gameboy games but I spend also a lot of time with the trading card game.
Later on I started to like the legend of Zelda series more. I like it because of the different game mechanics. I also like the different types of stories a lot.
