Bit generations: DIGIDRIVE Game Review from ExciteBikeFan14

Hey Everyone, Its ExciteBikeFan14 Back Again for Another Game Review. This Time I’m Reviewing bit generations: DIGIDRIVE for The Game Boy Advance. Also Named Art Style: DIGIDRIVE for The Nintendo DSiWare, bit generations: DIGIDRIVE is a puzzle game where you have to group “cars” in different sections. So on to the review.

Game Overview

bit generations: DIGIDRIVE is a puzzle sorting game where you group 3 different types of “cars” into 4 different parts of the game board in order to move your game piece on the right side of the screen in the middle as far as you can, and avoid it from touching the piston that’s down below because if the piston touches the game piece, the game ends. You’ll use the D-pad and move either up, down, left or right to sort the cars of different colors. Once a car is in a section, a shape will pop up near the section. This is the fuel for your game piece. There are 5 shapes that hold fuel for each section depending on how much fuel it’s holding. The more cars that are adjacent to the color of a section or sections on the game board that pile up, more fuel will be added to the container. The shapes or containers are The Triangle, Square, Pentagon, Hexagon and finally The Circle. When The Circle is filled all the way, the words “MAX” will appear telling you that the container is full. If a car of a different color comes to a section while there’s fuel there, the fuel will go to other sections and fill up there. This can be a useful strategy to get your game piece to go farther faster. At many times there will be a flashing car that sends the fuel from any section you send it to or where ever it goes by its self to your game piece. If there is no fuel in a section and the flashing car passes it, the cars will be removed from the section if there are any cars and nothing happens. You’ll also get 3 flashing cars at the start of the game in the reserve pile. Press The A button to send one. If all the sections are filled you’ll go into Overdrive. In Overdrive, the cars that are adjacent to the color of the section will add up to your fuel, and cars will come faster and faster. If a car of a different color goes to a different section of the board, Overdrive ends and the container that has the most fuel will be sent to your game piece and you’ll get a flashing car in the reserve pile. But you have to be strategic and careful in this game as your game piece gets farther and farther because the game will get a bit harder. There’s also versus mode where you and a friend can play each other with a GBA link cable or you can go against the computer in VS. COM. There is also a Download feature where you can use the GBA link cable to send a demo version of the game to a friend. While playing Solo mode you can unlock new skins or game backgrounds, music and difficulty levels.

Graphics

In the game, the graphics look really good. Especially with the different skins you can unlock. But I don’t focus on graphics that much as mention in my other reviews. The Graphics get a rating of 10.

Music & Sound FX

The music is a great fit in the game. The sound track is filled with enjoyable techno and electronic beats that immerse you into the game. It feels like its sending you to a different world when you start the game and returns you when you quit. The Music & Sound FX also get a rating of 10.

Replay Value

The game is mostly very addictive. Even though it might not be a pick up and play type of game, you might be playing for hours on end. Replay Value also gets a 10 rating.

Game Depth

As mentioned in the Game Overview, There’s Solo, 2 player Versus, VS. CPU and the Download mode. As well as skins, music and difficulty levels to unlock. The Game Depth gets a 9 rating.

Difficulty Level

The game could get a bit tricky to play but the controls are very easy. Use the D-pad to send incoming cars to adjacent sections of the board and press the A button to send a flashing car from your reserve pile. The game gets a difficulty level of 2.

Final Words

And so, bit generations: DIGIDRIVE is a unique puzzle game. It keeps you on your toes, has great music and excellent game play. While it could get tricky, after a few plays it should be a breeze. Overall the game gets a 10/10.

That’s all for now, I’ll have another review soon. Check ya later!
