What moment in gaming was your luckiest? Mine was in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. I decided that I wanted to catch a Liquid Metal Slime, which has a 1/256 rate of capture and they usually run away when you enter battle. I then caught one on my first try! So, what's your luckiest moment?

My luckiest moment was in Fifa 13. I was 4-0 down at half time and I had to win for promotion in ultimate team. I some how got the score all the way up to 5-4 including two goals in extra time.

My luckiest moment was the first time I beat time I beat the original Castlevania. I had just barely gotten through the final stage, and was about to fight Dracula and was also on my last life and would have died in one hit, and I somehow won. That was a good day.

Mine was when the game in Madden glitched out and I started to fly. I then flew into the end zone and won the game.

This one is from the quarter muncher years.
It was quite common for many gamers of my generation. Not everyday common. But still a great tale of a different attitude about gaming.

"Street Fighter 2".
I was in the middle of a match against one of the towns best players. (The arcade worker.)
Suddenly the the joystick would not move back or block for that matter.
Then the middle punch button jammed and would not function.
I was down to 40% health and I had no quarters left.
Somehow I pulled it off with just weak fireballs, Low rotational leg sweeps. Strong Uppercuts or Dragon Punches and smart ducking and jumping. When He was on the flip-side I could change up my strategy and block and do hurricane kicks. Dragon Punches and Fireballs were out but Uppercuts and Strong Round Kicks, and Sweeps were available. Somehow I did not loose my cool and did it. I won somehow. I decided to walk away. The Arcade Worker demanded I come back. I replied with "Fix it. Its Broken." He then pressed a few buttons and played with the joystick and bellowed out a very Rude Word for an indoor shopping mall.

In my day this happened quite a bit. The controls sometimes would be sabotaged only on the player one side. Many times it is an angry video gamer that just does not know his own strength. (Close to my case. I just walked in at the wrong time.) But often there was a "mall-rat" who would wait for a sucker to press Player1 instead of player2 and wail on the poor dude that tapped player1. (Cheap Winners.)
They were not hard to spot. If a good game is not getting any play and a dude is just waiting on stand-by, Stalking the Machine. Not playing any of the 100 games around. Just creepily Watching one machine.
You put a quarter in? He grins. You press Player2? He walks away.

I would love to present a different tale but that sticks out the most for me. For now.
Good Luck To All.
Peace.

My luckiest moment is Pokémon Crystal, when I found a shiny Caterpie and caught it!  A shiny Pokémon has a 1/8,201 chance of appearing, and it was one of my first Pokémon! XD I was lucky with the Pokémon, too, since Butterfree is so good.

My luckiest moment would have to be playing NCAA 2013, down by 28 points by half (I'm not one who quits on games). All of the sudden, I find life on offense, and I start to clamp down on defense, and I wound up surging back to be down by 3 (he had kicked a field goal). I had literally a couple plays' worth of time left, and there was 75 yards of field in front of me. With 5 wide receivers, I called a play where one of my inside receivers ran a skinny post, and somehow he got behind the safety and trucked down the field for the TD. It was the only long pass I had thrown that game, if memory serves me correctly, because I typically ground 'n' pound with short (and sometimes medium) passes thrown in there. So when I went for the long ball, hoping to get like a 40 yard gain (so I could run a medium-range pass to get in field goal range), I was pretty shocked to see my guy behind EVERYONE. To be honest, I think he was running a cover two.

But that moment doesn't compare to the time when my little brother started a game in Final Fantasy VIII for the PC and to his surprise, saw that he had multiple high-powered Guardian Forces, a ton of rare items (over 1000 Phoenix Pinions), and more money than you can imagine. I even think his characters had rare magic with them. That was extreme luck.

My luckiest moment, as far as I can remember, was when I was playing Mega man 2. I was at the final level at the final boss, and I was very low on health. I ended up killing him with no health at all.

In replying to another thread, I just remembered the all-time luckiest moment I have ever had.

I'm playing Battlefield 3 with my friend Nate, and we're on Wake Island. I'm in one of the F-35 jets, having just shot down an enemy helicopter, I saw a tank sitting at one of our positions (I was playing Conquest). So I went down to attack it, but I came in too hot and had to break really hard, which in the game causes the jet to hover. So I accidentally landed on this tank, and as it started backing up, I got out of the plane and was on top of the tank. My jet started sliding to the sea (it was on a hill). I dropped three things of C4 on the tank, ran towards my jet, then blew up the tank and got into the jet with seconds to spare. Nate and I were laughing so hard, particularly because I'm the C4 guy when the enemies' tanks are ripping us to shreds.

I was playing Super Mario 3D Land, and I was on level 8-Crown and I was about to die in a pit, (I have 3 stories about the same level, all on the same playthrough of the level) then I bounced on a idiotic Goomba that was stupid enough to be right at the edge of a platform, I got hit then bounced on his head and I was saved. Next I was at least 2 in. away from Shadow Mario and I was able to get him to get trapped by a wall and I ran strait to the Exit Block. Lastly, I did this right after the Goomba thing and before the Shadow Mario thing. I got to Boom- Boom and Pom- Pom (That's their official name I think) I had no Power-Up and this was my 3rd time playing this level, and I still sucked at this battle. I managed to beat them and get some lives using the Pom- Pom glitch. (Same thing as the infinite 1-Up Glitch in World 1-2) I am now pretty good at this level, but it was fun getting that lucky. =)

Oh man...... here's one I'll never forget........
So, while on my 1st playthrough of Mother 3, I was fighting the Jealous Bass (Lucas was at level 18 and Boney at 19, I wasn't really grinding then) and was failing badly, as I lacked healing items and was spamming Love α. Lucas had taken mortal damage (When a character's HP is scrolling to 0) and Boney was dead. When Lucas was beneath 20 HP I was jamming the A button to get in a hit, knowing I was done for. When Lucas attacked the Jealous Bass and - to my luck - was defeated, and Lucas was at 1 HP. And man, was I making a racket then. ._.
