I'm sorry but I've been raging and cursing nintendo for the past 3 minutes. I do not currently have a Wii U, but I do have a Wii. I am really angry that I can't play any Wii U games on my Wii, just like how you can't play gameboy games on a DSI. I mean honestly, it has Wii in it so it would at least be nice if you could play the Wii aspect of the game. To me, it seems stupid to have to trash my old Wii just to buy a Wii U.... Sigh, I guess this is Nintendo's way of recovering from a video game failure...................................................Am I the only one who thinks something like this?

Your logic makes absolutely no sense. That is like getting upset that you can't play Xbox 360 games on your Xbox or you can't play Playstation 3 games on your Playstation 2. In what world could you ever play the newer generation games on the old generation console? Nintendo is not even remotely the only gaming company that does this. They ALL do this.

I know Rcarter2 basically said this, but you have to know that multiple people don't understand your reasoning. If they were to do it that way, than it wouldn't be a next Gen console, it would just be more wii games as they would have to be playable on a wii U platform as well as the inferior wii. This making graphics, gameplay, and quite a few more things lacking.

My opinions are that its not so cool. I don't like it because they stopped making wii consoles and they kinda forced you to buy it. It makes no sense that you cant play wii u games on the wii or visa versa. I was kinda upset that they stopped making wii games and stuff like that. I personally think that they just wanted to combine Nintendo ds and wii. Personally I would not buy it. (also it costs a lot of money.)

The wii wasn't a video game failure. It is well know that it sold remarkably well. The Wii U, isn't simply a 'better wii", it's a new generation of console. It's like the PS2 and the PS3, it's a whole new console.

The Wii U is actually the one not selling well, so Nintendo will need to recover from IT. Not from the Wii.

But many people are upset like you. They don't like the new direction Nintendo has taken with their consoles. But regardless of their hardware, some of the game are still awesome. Zelda and Mario still are very very well made, and the Wii U is worth buying just for them in my opinion.
