Okay, as some of you may know, my leg broke a month or two ago. The doctor said two weeks ago that it shouldn't hurt anymore in a week or so. (last week) It STILL hurts, even more as before, and we went to the hospital but they also said that it should be over by now. I'm getting really frustrated because I just want it over with. Now here's my question: Have you ever broke something? If so, is it normal that it -after a good two months- still hurts really bad? 'Cause I don't wanna trust doctors anymore.

FunnyFurret : I think it is NOT normal that doctors lie like that.

... You're calling it a lie? Seriously? :|

If anything, it may have just been a wrong estimate. Doctors aren't psychics, nor can they tell the future, so they can't accurately predict when your leg is going to feel better, Nya~.

When they give you a time, it's a close estimate they they are judging on how it was broken, how severe the damage was, etc etc. They can't always be accurate, as your example shows, so sometimes they end up being wrong.

Plus, "shouldn't hurt anymore in a week or so" doesn't guarantee One Week. It does guarantee however that they pain will still stay for a week and a bit longer. Again, they aren't fortune tellers, so they can't tell you exactly when the pain will end, Nya~.

How did you break it, anyways? And is the pain showing up when you're putting pressure on it and such, or is it completely random, while you're not doing anything?

I have had a broken arm before. I can tell you this now: The pain isn't going to magically go away at any time until it's all better. Until then, it will still hurt. It will hurt with a sling, it will hurt with a cast, it will hurt pretty much with almost anything. Only, however, if you end up doing stuff with said broken limb. If you're running around, climbing, jumping everywhere, etc, then it'd obviously gonna hurt, Nya~.

I forget what time estimate I was given for my left arm, since it happened when I was maybe 7 or 9? I forget. I don't have the cast for it anymore either I'd imagine... But 100% pain never went away till a little while after. It's still sensitive, even after everything.

I wouldn't really call it a lie personally.
I would imagine Doctors give out these estimates based on previous cases.

In the end its down to your own body how fast it wants to repair itself, I guess yours just wants to take a little longer
Hang in there it will feel better in time just got to tough it out until then!

I broke my toe in 3 places. It healed up in 3 1/2 weeks, with me staying off of it. it really depends on the person, not on the doctor.

See, this is why I never go to the doctors for anything... As everyone else said, doctors aren't magical. They can't tell you exactly when it will get better. All they can do is guess. So, they aren't lying. XD
