I think that it's any gamer guys dream to have a girlfriend that is also a gamer, because if not, and I take this from other peoples personal experience, they whine and complain and tell you to do something "man-like" and I have been an intense gamer ever since I was a wee lad growing up. Even though I still have a while before I am considered an "adult" I am wiser than I seem, and I know what some of you may be thinking: "Oh this guy's only 14 how could he possibly know anything about women and relationships... yada yada yada" and your right I have never had a real girlfriend. Sad but true, but I still think it would be amazing to have a gaming girlfriend that way you could play together, or even share insight on games, etc. Anyway I will not continue this rabble going on and on.

So I would like the guys opinion: Would you or would you not want to have a gamer girlfriend? And why?

And also to the ladies: Are you a gamer, and why or why don't you like playing games? And would you play with your boyfriend?? If you don't have a boyfriend, would you if you did??

I personally would like a gamer girlfriend and as lucky as I am I have one lol
But we have completely different taste in games xD
Though I don't think that is important really we have the fact we both play games in common and that means we always have something to talk about or go out and game hunt together

The thing is, a man shouldn't spend endless hours of his time wasted of entertaining himself. It doesn't give him anything after a while, just it's fun, but you won't feel MORE refreshed after pplaying for 5 hours than for 1. So from that perspective I have to agree that it IS a looser thing to play vedio games, or do ANYTHING unproductive, for hours a day. All that time could be spend learning something, or working at something that could actually do you or someone else some good.

That being said, we all need hobbies and time to have fun. And I think it's foolish that a guy can sit and watch a sports game night after night and no one things anything of it. But sit and play a video games for 2 hours straight, and you have non-gamers rolling their eyes. What makes one form of idling so much "worse" than the other? If anything, playing a video game is less lazy than watching a show as increases relfexes, keeps your brain working, and can be played with other people.

So to answer your question, I think it's great to find a GF who likes to play games with you, but even if they didn't it's fine, AS LONG as they respect that you can game out as your form of recreation, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I love that many women know what I am talking about when I mention "Unlockable Content". And other words of the like.

I hate that some of them will kill an entire weekend of off duty time to get the next outfit for their "M.M.O." character.

Do not get me wrong.
I love the new modern spin on the phrase "silent treatment".
I hate dealing with unshaven legs and sweats that stay on a person for more than three days.
All the "Youtube" videos of "gamer girls" are fantasy dude.
Trust me.
You want them complaining that you spend too much time on a game.
You are missing out.
Why play a fantasy?
When you can be with the fantasy and Live it?

Other than that I still think you need to look in all the right places for your girls.
Nothing wrong with knowing what you want. But I strongly suggest unplugging to get "Chicks".
You mentioned music and that is a step in the right direction.

My wife doesn't play video games, except Sonic and Super Mario 3.  I'm glad for that.  We have enough in common and I want my own life and my own side activities that she will not join in.  It's me time and I get to ignore her while I do my own stuff.  If the two of you do everything together, you'll get sick of each other.

Also, it would encourage competition, especially fighting games, and that could frustrate both of you with each other.  It's too much activity.  I'd rather have my guys hang out, play video games, and walk away.  There's no need to bring relationships and girlfriends into the mix.

If my girlfriend lived near me AND was a gamer, I would so freaking happy, as long as she meets the stuff I look for in a girl.

My wife doesn't play games and I'm glad for that for many reasons.

1. What if she was better than me? I would hate that
2. I like having different interests. I play games to get away from things but if she played too then I wouldn't be able to use that to get away.
3. If you both love video games then what else would you do together? I like having different interests than my wife because it gets me doing things I wouldn't do on my own.

I wouldn't mind playing a few games with my wife but I'm glad she's not a gamer.

geeogree : my view is basically the same as yours. It's better to have two sets of interests than one. It keeps the relationship exciting and not a monotonous cycle of doing the same things.. Plus you can always find something new that you wouldn't have tried until your girlfriend/ Wife introduced you to it.. 

I guess the main thing I want to say is that I wouldn't be really fussed about if she liked video games or not.. After all people are all different and so are gamers x3

So I guess it depends what he/she is like... Are they competitive? Are they looking for something to reduce stress? Are they just an introverted person who likes games more than reality? 

So many rhetorical questions so little time...

It would be cool to play a game together once in a while, but in the end, I wouldn't care either way. It wouldn't change how I felt.

I guess it would be a double edged sword because you have the same tastes but on the other hand one of you will end up sulking if you keep losing which could cause fallouts. I guess it is like everything else in a relationship it can work for or agaisnt you

Yea I'm a gamer girl been 4m I was smaller! Was always with the guys and all up in everything pertaining to games! However, my bf is not a gamer but that doesn't change the fact that I still love him
