Pokémon, How you've grown. 5 regions, over 20 games over the years, 23 for us, 24 for Japan. Yet, you've been the same song and dance. And I love you for it. Pokémon Emerald takes place, just like Ruby and Sapphire, in the Hoenn Region. Does this game outmatch the other two? Let's find out.

Graphics: 9- The graphics are practically the same. The only difference is that the Pokémon sort of have life in them like they did in Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Now they're back in motion, not stand still. That's an improvement for a GBA game. Other than that, the graphics are the same way.

Sound: 9- Like I said in my Sapphire Review, if you read it before this one, the music is great. I would sometimes hum the Pokebattle (like my new word?) tune. If you're in a area where you can't hear the music and you like the tunes, get earphones. Other than that, music is the same.

Addictiveness: 9- The Addictiveness level is practically the same when compared to Ruby and Sapphire. Don't really need to say anything if you read my Sapphire Review. If you didn't, well here's the scoop. It's addictive if you're really excited to get some new Pokémon, or in the case of the Ruby/Sapphire people old Pokémon in an old area, where there's some Pokémon that we've all seen in the past, whether TV, game, or card game, it still counts if you've gotten the cards from EX Ruby and Sapphire to I think EX Holon Phantoms. If you've wanted to get a taste of the Hoenn region, but couldn't, now's your chance after you download the VGR Plugin.

Story: 7- Same old, same old. Don't really need to say anything. Get some Pokémon, Beat Gym Leaders, some of which are updated, Get all 8 Gym Badges, Beat the Elite Four, Fight the Champion, Be Champion. Easier said than done.

Depth: 6- The game, like its predecessors, has little to offer, but some are hard to obtain. Legendaries, mainly Rayqueza, are HARD to catch. Good Luck. You'll need it.

Difficulty: 7- Just the same difficulty like Ruby/Sapphire. Just different layout. Good luck against the Elite Four. You'll need it.

Overall: 9.2- The game is more like Ruby/Sapphire in more ways than one. The difference is that some of the Gyms are different than Ruby/Sapphire. And You'll once again deal with Team Magma and Team Aqua.

That's all folks!

freakyforrest9 : I feel like Emerald was a huge improvement over Ruby and Sapphire. The game may have had a slow start, but the post story after beating the Elite Four is actually pretty long, and allows you to catch very powerful Pokémon. I got a lot of enjoyment out of this game!

TrollStoneProduction : This one's shorter, because I did a review for Pokémon Sapphire.

freakyforrest9 : I'd like to say you have a talent for reviewing, and I look forward for reading more. I'm more of a community guy, and I like to really delve into a games design. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Actually this game is the harder version of Pokemon Ruby, Pokemon Sapphire, and Pokemon Emerald. For starters I would say start out with Sappphire then move to Ruby then me to Pokemon Emerald. After you beat these three games and love them and still want more try out the hacked versions of emerald.
1. Pokemon Rebirth - Can catch more pokemon such as all starters in the first town.
2. Pokemon 386 - Can catch every single pokemon in the wild.
3. Pokemon Frost (Warning Mature) - Masterballs and Rare Candies are for only 1 dollar, and Rare Pokemon level 50 are in the starter towns i.e Rayquaza and Salamence but I warn you this game has innapropriate material such as mild language.

I think emerald is slightly more advanced than ruby and sapphire because there are more things you can do after you beat the elite 4. For example there is the battle frontier and also you can try and catch other legendaries.

freakyforrest9 : I know this is your review, but it is really old, so please do not bump it. It could cause you to get a ban, and I know you would not want that.

Local Mods : Please close bumped review.

linkmaster99 : Actually bumping reviews is more of an etiquette issue than it is a rule. It really is a bother for the Mods and the readers, and should be avoided. It won't get you banned though. However posting a short post (less than ten words) does count as spam.
Thanks for the heads up by the way.
