I am here again to give yet another brief word.  This time on a matter that a believe causes a lot of confusion.  I will clarify all asked questions that pertain to this by the Word of God.
Repentance:  What is repentance?  Repentance is the sincere, sovereign calling to God for the forgiveness or remission of sin.  Why do I put emphasis on sincere? Simple.  If you recall a thread a made a while back,  I said that there are two types of repentance.  Godly and worldly.  Godly is the sovereign sincere calling to God for the remission of sin.  Peter preached on repentance and it's importance.  It is impossible to get into Heaven with out that sincere "Godly" repentance.

Sin: What is sin?  How do we sin?  Isn't all sin created equal in the eyes of our Lord, God?  Sin is the misuse, wrong-doing oppression against the Word of God.  We sin daily which is why repentance is so important.  The Bible says "  All men have sinned and come short of the Glory of God"  Humankind is born into sin.  It is in our nature to be sinful.  We sin and don't even know it.  Again the importance of repentance.  Sin is an everlasting cycle.  You can no sooner stop sinning than the Earth can stop spinning.  Is all sin created equal?  NO!  All sins are equal with the exception of one.  Blasphemy.

Blaspheme:  What is blasphemy?  How can it be avoided?  If we have blasphemed against God can we repent for it?  Blasphemy is the refusal of God and the slander of His name and His Word.  Example:  To place God in the position of a sinner is blaspheme against Him.  It can be avoided.  You have to be careful when handling God's Word and when using His name.  The Jews called him Jehovah because they feared His name.  They did not want to blaspheme against His name.  In the Bible Jesus said  you can do all kinds of things unto him, but blaspheme against his Father's Word is unforgivable.  And the angels of the Lord would cast thee into the lake of fire.  I am uncertain whether or not you can repent for blasphemy, but if you do so happen to blaspheme against God, you should immediately plead for forgiveness and pray He hears you.

I hope I was able to clarify any questions that you may have had.  If you have any other questions that I did not answer,  please leave it in your comment.

Mr. Pace, I really enjoyed your two posts on the Word of God.  I didn't get the time to break them down piece by piece, but I felt I should comment on this one.

I teach in a public school, and as such, I sometimes find myself in a difficult position.  I can't force a child to take upon my own religious ideals, obviously.  Every time I hear a student using God's name in vain however, it causes me to cringe.  In the past, I never really commented and simply went my business.

However, recently God has really put it on my heart to be careful with the words I use and HOW I use them.  Words are powerful things after all.  For example, much of the time, my students will complete a problem and then approach me by asking "Mrs. Singell, what did I do wrong?"  I always tell them that they are asking the wrong question.  After their stunned and confused faces disappear, I tell them that the question they SHOULD have asked is "What did I do right?"

The Bible tells us that words are powerful.  You can literally speak things into existence, even today I believe.  I also believe that names' meanings still have an impact as well.  Some people might think that's a little nutty, but I believe in what my Bible tells me or implies, and I also trust the biblical evidence I have witnessed over the course of my lifetime.

If words are so important and so powerful, it only stands to reason that we must be cautious with calling out to God, or in using His name in vain.  Just today, one of my students called out His name in frustration and it gave me pause.

So this year, I am speaking up about it.  I can't tell my students NOT to use certain words which the general (and dare I say liberal?) public doesn't deem as offensive.  However, I CAN say remind them that they are using God's name in vain, and that I wish they wouldn't do so.  Luckily for me, I happen to live in the bible belt, so 99.5% of my students claim to be Christians, and I won't get slapped in the face for my comments

But I've always got to put God first. I wouldn't let anyone bad mouth my mother, so what more should I do for my heavenly Father, right?

Singelli :  The up most excellence of your post.  It is true that we should always be catious when calling His name.  And we should never slander the name of God.  And excellent analogy you made when you said that you would not let them talk about you mother so surely how can you let them talk about God.  The reason your mother lives and the reason that you are here.  Words are indeed powerful.  If used incorrectly, words and words along can destroy this planet.  But the question is whose word are you hearing to.  Right?  The Bible says that Peter went to jail for God and the Lord delivered him from jail.  Well who wouldn't serve a God like that.  That he would send his angels down to get you out of prison.  When I see and I hear about all the people playing with God like a toy it tears me to pieces.  I have to go back and pray for them because they don't realize the danger that they are in.  Once the soul has been cast into the lake of fire, there is no return.  God may have pulled Daniel out of hell, but He said no more.  As Christians we must live as a living testimony of God.

mr. pace, I was just going back and re-reading your threads and I have to say I am completely enthralled and still majorly impressed.  It's so rare to meet someone with such a dedication of God and to have such a relationship with Him. I wish you were attending my school and being a witness here by your presence.  I'm sure that where you are though, God has placed you to be a witness.

However that most certainly isn't why I posted here.  I've always wanted to do some kind of blog daily on the Word of God, but I lose my motivation or run out of 'time'.  I think if I had a partner, it'd be so much easier for me.  I wouldn't necessarily make it my goal to post every day, but maybe once a week.

Would you be interested in such a thing?  I think you're a wonderful inspiration and influence.

(And by the way, I am TOTALLY energized by the music you linked.  That music is AMAZING! I am bouncing on the balls of my feet in praise!)
