My grandmother.

When I was about 2 years old, my mother and father were going through a separation process. My grandmother had enough of the s***, and realized that it was going to hurt my growth staying there, so she (legally) took me away to live with her until mom got her s*** together.

She didn't have the same energy level as a 2 and a half year old, so she needed to find something to keep me occupied. This thing was the SEGA Genesis. For hours upon hours I'd play, and she'd watch me play it, and it cultivated a love of gaming that has spanned the past 2 decades.

Later, when my mother did get her s*** together, she even got in on it sometimes, and played games with me. I guess that was her way of making up for lost time. Then my brother and sister were born years later, and video games were the only thing we had in common, so we played a LOT of games growing up.

Really, my grandmother started the trend with me, and I brought it to the whole family without even realizing it.

It's because of my grandmother I'm a video game addict, but that's not a bad thing. Video Games have made me a far more fun person, than I would be now if I had just stayed in a bad environment. In a weird sort of way, video games gave me a life

What made me get into gaming is playing the first game I ever had. That is Super Smash Bros. Melee. Then I start to play game a lot since then.

For some odd reason my bought us a PS2,It wasn't anyone's birthday or something
And with it they had Jak and Daxter,the precursor legacy which i still love the game today

I got into games when I was 5 , the first game I played was Sega, when I got 10-11 we really couldn't afford some of the new games like PlayStation,so I stuck with  phone games ,little plug and play games, card games,anything to set my mind off the real world, I even make them up in my head sit and think for hours what my game would be like. Then I we moved to Marion Alabama when I was about 13,my life started to get worse by then, but games haven't ,I started on Nintendo 64 and other old games, I got old and new handheld,we got a computer and I played games on it ,13-17 is when my thirst for games explode, I couldn't stop myself I wanted to play ever game old and new ,bad and good.I got so much and gaming that I would play for 4 straight day without sleep, and when I did I would dream about the games for a week.of course I had to calm down because my mom thought I was crazy and she was talking to her sister about me (mom love to talk about they re kids even if its good or bad)well I got 18 years older got ps3, got a ps3 stolen had 12 great expensive games to it gone. Well I talk to much, that's about it thanks for listening.

My brother has Aspergers and was kind of an awkward kid. They bought him an NES when it first came out, and he spent a lot of time playing it and getting good at it. When I came around, he'd want me to watch and see how far he could get, and when I got to be around 3, he'd have me play with him. It was a way for us to bond and spend time together because we didn't have a lot of common ground. As we got older, he got every Nintendo console since then, and a PS and PS2. He would buy games he knew I liked and we'd play them together. He's much more into video games than me, but it's nice to have something to converse about that we both know about, especially since he knows a lot about stuff that I don't and he gets irritated when I don't want to hear about it because I don't care/understand.

supershadnew : When I was 1 year old, My Brother and Sister showed me Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64. They also showed me how to play it and I always lost. When I was 5 years old, I really got into gaming by playing Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64 and 007 Everything or Nothing for the Playstation 2 because I knew what to do and they told me what the controls were, When I was 7 years old, I was really interested at the Nintendo DS because it had two screens. There was one screen at the top to see the action and there was one screen at the bottom to touch it. I got two games for it on my birthday which were Super Mario 64 DS and Goldeneye Rogue Agent. When I was 9 years old, I started getting interested at the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 because the Xbox 360 had games like Need for Speed Carbon and Project Gothem Racing 3 which is something I really wanted to play because they were Racing Games and the Playstation 3 had Sonic The Hedgehog. I got both Consoles and the Games and they were ok. When I was 13 years old, I was very interested at the Nintendo 3DS because it was the Nintendo DS with realistic 3D graphics and it had the Mii Maker and the Streetpass Mii Plaza. I got the Nintendo 3DS and PES 2011 and it was awesome. This is the story of what made me get into gaming.

I got into gaming because of my dad. My dad played a lot of games and made me play it when I was a baby. Of course I never knew what I was doing until the age of four or five. My first system was a Nintendo 64 and first game was The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time and from there on I kept gaming for the rest of my life.

Well i have been in gaming all of my life. when i was young my dad and my mom played killer instinct gold so good, that when they would fight it would be a close fight all the way to the end of it. So one day me and my sister turned on the game while my mom and dad was a work and we started playing and i made my own destiny and that was to defeat my mom and dad one day.

Well, I don't have an amazing story like the rest of the people who posted here...

When I was a kid, my dad bought a Famicom clone for me without having any reasons to do it. My dad used to play some of the games and I used to watch him playing, after a couple of months, I started to play too. That's how I got into gaming.

Well when I was about 2 or 3 years old, My brother got an NES when he was about 14 years old. He used play games like Super Mario Bros. and Punch-Out. I used to sit there and watch him play the game for like 35 minutes until he went out with his friends and when he left, I'd try to play Super Mario Bros. for a while. I kind of sucked at it at first, but I got the hang of it afterwards. So it all started when I used to watch my brothers play their games a lot.
