well im not certain if its what youre looking for, but:
Star wars knights 1
Star wars knights 2
Bioshock (1, the original)
Mass effect (3, then 2, then 1, in terms of which have the biggest 'special' journey.)
Those are 6 individualy, but only 3 in terms of series.
Freedom fighter was good too, american resistance leader v russian invasion leader
