I know that there is still a possibility of "Virtual Reality" gaming, but after that, is there anywhere else to go? I would love to hear some new creative ideas. Have Fun!

I think in future, game companies will ditch disks and use cards instead. Like the Turbografx 16, no loading times, and by that time good storage space.

Also digital downloads of full games will be in full swing.

Well, I've heard that hologram is a possibility in the household soon. If so, what are the odds that one day we could play games on a hologram projector? It could haplen. I'm not sure it would be that great though. lol

I would like to see consoles do away with loading time altogether. They could easily use the same technology as anti-skip cd players, that read ahead of where you actually are in the song, and commit it to memory like Mp3. Why not start making consoles read ahead of what would be loading points? That way we get the same quality, and skip loading screens. We got a glimpse of loading free disc games with Luigi's mansion, and it was sweet.

I think sooner or later there will be quite a few games based off your brain. Like, sensors hooking up to your head and stuff. It could make FPS's more realistic, if it's based off your personal speed. Anyway, just a thought.

I think all of the previous posts  show a good amount of things you can do. But the problem is, they don't seem practical. The PS Move, Kinect, and Wii were all "innovative", but ruin most gameplay. So I think the loading time thing would be he best thing that they could do.

Now, as you said, Virtual Reality Gaming may come out soon, and that will mark a revolution in the gaming community. However, as Eirinn said, Holograms designed to pretty much make your life a IRL video game might very later be released. According to my knowledge(which is quite low), my friend's friend's dad works at Nintendo, and he told me that Nintendo was working on hologram designs of Pokemon. Whether this is true or not, I have no idea, but...

I hate to sound old, but here we go.

mrfe :
marcushoward :

You two probably aren't old enough to remember this, but Sony actually had a commercial that suggested those very ideas, years ago. It showed a little ball that said "PS9" on it. A guy grabbed it, and the game began to play in his mind. I only saw this commercial once, so I don't know if people didn't like it or what. Also the commercial was kind of pointless, unless it was to say that they were more advanced than the competition.

I may have recalled this a bit poorly, as I was only thirteen or so, but that was the gist of it. Personally the idea disturbs me. I'd stick with retro games if that happened.
