What was the worst moment every in your video gaming life?

Tell me the story.

My worst moment just happened today and nearly 10 minutes ago. I was playing Guitar Hero 5 online on my Wii with a expert guitarist, Me and the online person were playing "American Girl", we had 1.2 million at the end of the song, here is what happened. The other person failed right before the end and I brought him back before the last note, and guessed what happened. Instead of the "You Rock!" message showing, I heard the failed song sound effect, and when your band fails a song, none of your stats count in a song no matter where you were, and you get 0 stars when it happens. My online player might have dissconnected at the last second, and that is how it happened. I screamed and threw by bags of food at walls and was punching the couch and slamming my fist on the food bags, and I was mad, I still am!!! *Roars like Godzilla*

I call the story, "Guitar Hero worst fail ever." I didn't fail the song, the online person did, at the very last second, and my 1.2 million run didn't show up on the band high score portion when I selected the song again. D:<

Stevie 764 : I have a worst video game moment for all the systems I have! Right now I'm gonna talk about the one for the DS. I was playing Assassins Creed for several years. About one year ago, I was doing good in the game; the game was blinking red. So, I saved in advanced because, I didn't want too start from the beginning. When I got too charged it again, I went too play Assassins Creed; All my memory was lost. It wont even save again. You can throw the game all you want, it will NEVER save again!

I was playing Final Fantasy VIII for the first time, in the middle of the final dungeon. There was a thunderstorm at the time and since our power likes going out a lot during thunderstorms I like to save my games more frequently. So I decided to save and in the middle of the save the power went out. So I thought that's alright I didn't save too long ago. So once the power is back on I try to go back to playing my game. Well the save file was corrupt so I couldn't play it anymore so I had to start over from the beginning.

Matthew2321 : I always hate it when that happens, you had a save file (You probably got through most of the game), you turn it back on, and BAM, it munched your save file like the anti piracy check on the final boss of earthbound on SNES when using a pirated copy or using the checksum fail game genie code.

serena9003 : I feel your pain, getting a corrupted save file is the 2nd worst thing to happen in a video game, I would smack the crabs out of the cartridge if that would happen.

Here are some bad moments:

- I turned on the N64 to play Super Mario 64, and I notice that my save was gone, it had 120 stars which equals 100% completion. I turned it off, turned it back on, and my save file then reappears! Wow! (Happened in February and March of 2012)

- I had a save file on pokemon blue that had this stats:

9 hours
2 badges
Around 20 pokemon in pokédex

I put the game in, and I lost my file permanently and I had to start over. (Happened in early of 2012)

Last moment...

- I have a NES cartridge that occasionly glitches when I put it in and turn on the NES, the game is Super Mario Bros 3. There is nothing I can do to help the glitches graphics caused by the infamous "Game Graphic Glitch Gremlin". Happens occasionly, so there isn't a date of when it occurs.

serena9003: I learned my lesson doing that. When there is a thunderstorm, best too save the game and call it a day. Unless, you have a generator!

I will say Genji: Days of the Blade on the ps3 and Rascal from PlayStation. Genji had terrible camera view and to make it worse you couldn't control the camera also. Limited items and abilities made it displeasing to.

And Rascal... Bad camera and mobility control. The ending was quite bad also. xD

I don't think there is just one big one, it's a slightly recurring thing.
The thing I hate really bad is when my friends come over, play my games and beat me at them!
Grrr. It doesn't happen that often, but it really ticks me off when they brag about it, so rude.
And they know they are either cheap noobs, or lucky. I hardly lose to my friends, I am pretty good at my games, not to boast, but you feel me, I'm real good .

I would have to say the most horrible video game experience was when I was playing FF 9 or the one with the gun blade and card game and at the end of it fighting the final boss the cds wouldn't load and kept freezing! Years later I finally watched the end on tube haha.

Getting banned from EA Servers in Xbox live seems to be the worst video game moment to me. Feel like telling why but It's too long of a story. Well, Karma is a doozie.

jlh : It was your disc that caused the freeze? I never had a game freeze in my life on a loading screen, except for the guitar hero 5 wii bug in GHTunes where you put more than 4000 playable notes on one instrument.

Here is one of my terrible moments: (not my worst)
I have had a sonic flash game called "Sonic Boom Cannon 2" crash with the original chao character by going so fast, it was lagging so bad, and then, my browser (Internet Exploret) crashed and wouldn't respond. If it didn't crash, I could get hundreds of thousands of distance.

All these post about corrupted saves are tragic... I've been there plenty. Playing Diablo I lost a character on my run through the difficulty "Hell" I think it's called. If you have played this game you know it used to take up almost a whole memory card to save a full game. So a corrupted Diablo save  not only has you raging, but keeps you from playing your other games because your memory card is pretty much ruined. (can't delete corrupted saves )

Most recent game too make me mad was Super Ghost and Ghouls, but it's just because that game is pure evil -.-...

It was my own fault.  I was playing Pokémon Gold, and I had just gotten to the Radio Tower in Goldenrod City, and I saved once I got the radio card.  I got the bike, went North, caught a Nidoran♀, trained it to level 20, and took on Whitney in the gym (beat her on my second try!)  In the game corner, I earned about 140 coins.  I caught the Sudowoodo with one poke ball and kept going onwards.  I even caught a Ditto, and those guys always annoy me to no end.
I decided I had enough, and switched off the power.  I was immediately gripped with horror, as my last save was the radio tower.  More than two and a half very productive, very lucky hours were gone. *facepalm*

Scorpyx : That is why there is a auto save feature in pokémon rumble, to help prevent losing your data in a bad way.

Here is another bad moment I have had happen:

I rapidly smack the back of my Legend Of Zelda cartridge for the NES while it is on, and it causes your save files to be gone! That is why there are battery safety rules on the back of every NES battery packed cartridge.

This one isn't that bad, but it was my worst video game moment ever. In Mario Party 9, I was doing incredibly well with about 70 stars, my friend had about 45, and the 2 CPUs (on hard mode) had about 50 (this happened about 1 month ago). My friend landed on a Bowser space RIGHT before the end of the board, and she ended up with the "lose half of your mini-stars" penalty. I realized that if you were last place, you would get 2x your current mini-stars. She had about 90 mini-stars right after, then I raged because I wouldn't win... Yeah, I'm a sore loser... So all of my efforts the past 30 or so turns were just eliminated completely! This is so annoying, and it can happen at any time, thus making your efforts worthless.  Thank goodness I came in second place. Bye!

I'm sorry for all of your pain, gamers. These are seriously sad stories. I don't have many that jump to my mind, but the boss midway through Resident Evil Code Veronica was a pain..had to fight it so many times. I had very little ammo and one herb which made the boss extremely difficult to fight. Eventually I defeated it, but I had to go through some emotional trauma to do it. And thank all of you for teaching me never to play video games during a thunderstorm again. I can't imagine my Metroid Prime 2 file getting deleted when I played during a storm a few weeks ago..
